Crystal Incense

First review of someone who actually owns it!!...... I love what ADP do with the signature line. they take a specific 1 or 2 notes and just do them well. Oud, Saffron, lime/oakmoss, vanilla etc. They tend to be pretty unique scents in that they dont clone a popular designer fragrance or join a bandwagon (an ambroxan bomb/sauvage style/aventus style etc). They arent usually overtly "brave"" but also have uniqueness that separates them from "mass-appealing" This is no different.... The citrus opening is quite fizzy & sparkling and could easily be mistaken for either orange, grapefruit or mandarin type citruses. You can feel the ginger in there too. The mid and dry down is an easy on the nose olibanum - not too smokey or astringent. Its softened by what I assume is the cedar and/or cardamom.. It's an excellent fragrance and performs well so far. dont let the olibanum or incense fool you into thinking this is a winter only fragrance - the citrus opening is bright and can be worn all year around. What I find clever in this fragrance is the transition through the notes, the dry down has no resemblance to the top. If you only smelled the dry down on someone, you could never guess that there was a bright citrus opening - its evidently very well made.

I love it! Has a certain lightness to it that I’ve come to expect from AdP. I love the choice of incense they used. Good solid male fragrance without the heavy used car salesman woody smell or too light lemon pledge smell with just enough oomph to make it interesting. Definitely office friendly. Possible year round but have to try it in winter first. If your body chemistry works with fragrances like Ganymede you will likely do well with this although it is not like Ganymede. In fact I can’t think of anything that is a good comparison.

TLDR This is primarily a cedar bomb, woody, slight spiced, very dry, dirty musk fragrance. This is not sweet at all. 100% masculine. IMO from the things I like, this is a 5/10, generally a dislike, but that could change in time. It is niche level. BUYER BEWARE, This is not an incense fragrance like the name would lead you to believe. No Interlude Man here.. Most incense fragrances have a sweet element, which is absent here. (An update changed my opinion to a 7.8/10 and a like) Okay, so people out there super into the Royal Oud by Creed. I tried it at a boutique and thought it was slammed with the cedar scent - not really my thing. I bought this, blindly, because I thought it would be a slightly sweet, spicy, incense with some wood, but this is an absolute cedar bomb on the first spray with pepper and musk. It is a skanky musk, not of the clean, sweet variety. It smelled like a boy and I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. After about 10 minutes, I'm definitely picking up more of the benzoin and olibanum, but I typically go to La Nuit De L'homme when referencing for cardamom, and I'm not getting much of that at all. The cedar is fleeting during the dry down, which I'm not complaining about. This strong cedar smell comes and goes, then comes back. Okay, you know what this reminds me of? I was in japan and I went to Nara after another backpacker showed me a video of some people feeding deer, so I naturally wanted to go see for myself. I took a friend and spent about 13 hours walking around in the forested areas of Nara. At one point we stumbled on a huge wooden building and people were lined up to get in. It turned out to be the Todaiji Temple, the largest wooden structure in the world. This Acqua Di Parma Crystal Incense reminds me of being inside that building with all the people and the dirt and the smell of the wood and some light remanences of burning incense. It is summertime and this was released last year, so I can't give a full judgement without wearing it in all seasons, but I would necessarily classify this as a primarily cedar, woody, slight spiced, very dry musky fragrance. IMO this is much better than the Creed Royal Oud which should be renamed to Royal Cedar. Review based on a full presentation 100ml example. Update... the more I wear this the more I like it. Its strange, because im not generally into wood chips smell, but there's something with way more depth at play here that is very pleasing for me. Upgrade to a 7.8/10.

Well - seems like there are different interpretations of this one - so I’ll throw mine out there. The opening kind of falls in line with what you’d expect from an acqua di Parma. Woody, spicy, citric. Even to the point where you’d think “oh, this is more barbershop” However - once that opening wears off (and it does so pretty quickly) - you are left with straight incense and ginger. Think of a “spiced incense” It’s definitely a nice fragrance - definitely on the mature side. No sweetness at all. A really nice buttoned up take on incense and citrus. EDIT You know, after spending more time with this, I think the fella below has a good point comparing it to Creed Royal Oud. It’s been a while since I smelled it, but I’m thinking he’s right. Although I am certainly getting incense on my end.

Dark dank incense, kinda musty and sharp. Almost like an oud. The citrus hangs around but smells more like orange than grapefruit. Churchy and moody. Personally not a fan of this one.

I check it in Düsseldorf Breuniger. Worst parfum of ADP omg, it is just grapefruit and lemon smth. Did they really test before sale ? So sad for this wonderful brand they are loosing their graound i guess, also as ı speak with them alreday stop their amazing parfum leather 😤.

very scratchy ambers, and an unpleasant overpowering ginger note at the start. the aldehydic notes are quite overpowering, like a laundry room. very clean and vintage if that's your thing. not for me.
