Iris Nobile 10th Anniversary Special Edition

an exquisite fragrance. best worn on cool fresh days. after an initial burst of citrusy delight with star anis, she begins to dry down into a something ladylike, yet slightly sweet and earthy. the earthiness i smell is definitely oakmoss and patchouli. the main flower in front is orange blossom, with a soft ylang sitting behind her. the iris is very gentle in this. there is a touch of vanilla and amber, but the oakmoss and patchouli stay alongside right through the dry down on me. sillage is medium and lasting at least 12 hours. the note inside the box tells you that this is exactly the same formula as the original and also lists the notes, which are different from above. i will list them when i get chance. there is definitely lovely oakmoss in this composition. oh what do i know?...but is this really a "floral woody musk"? Iris Nobile smells like a chypre to me. not a classic chypre like Mitsouko, but not like the floral woody musks i have experienced. a modern chypre. and it definitely has the Francis Kurkdjian vibe.

Very pretty, slight sweet iris, delicate and faint. Nice, but the strength and sillage is too porr to be worth the money

-Opening notes are similar to Serge Lutens Fleur d’Oranger. (Could it be the Jasmine?) -Longevity: Low-Medium. Lasts 4 hours or so. -Projection: Low. Turns to a skin scent within the hour. -Nondescript. -Not fbw. (-)
