Iris Nobile Sublime

Absolutely heavenly !!! Acqua di Parma really knows how to create fragrances. Not only do they smell natural and of highest quality but also they have a certain elegance and richness to them that some others houses just can't quite establish. I am impressed by the entire iris. Line , EDP is amazing , rich full and elegant like no other iris scent out there. Now with the addition of sublime this iris line is even better and it is gourgous change to its original perfume. Very similar in my opinion. At this point I need to wear them both side by side to add the difference between them to my review. Which I will do in the next few days ! So far I feel it is as round and smooth and elegant as its sister :) After wearing both I am loving both but they are quite different. The orig EDP is deeper, louder and intense. It's my favourite of all perfumes as of late. The sublime is muted , smoother and the birch makes it suede like , it not as loud and its softer and a tat less sweet. As mister chaz mentioned ,it almost feels transparent. That's a good way of putting it. Both fabulous !!!!

I just LOOOOVE this fragrance. Everytime I wear this and smell my wrist, my reaction is: "My God! I smell great!" Ha! I like this more than Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile, as it has a star anise note that is really not my favorite, while this one doesn't include anise. Yet on my skin, this is the only one of Acqua di Parma's fragrances that just has poor longevity. On me, it becomes a skin scent about 2 hours after application. Such a pitty! given that this is my favorite fragrance from this house. I even get better performance from Acqua Nobile Iris, which is an EDT. Still, I will continue to purchase this beauty. It will always be in my wordrobe. That ́s how much I love this. FYI, duration on my skin: -Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile EDP: 4 hrs of moderate projection + 2 hrs as skin scent, and can live on my silk scarves up to 2 weeks. -Acqua Nobile Iris EDT: 3 hrs of moderate projection + 2 hrs as skin scent -Iris Nobile Sublime EDP: 2 hrs of moderate projection + 4 hrs as skin scent

I'm surprised at all the votes for medium silage and longevity. For me this perfume has been a top performer in both aspects, and I don't have a great nose so unless a perfume is strong I probably won't notice it beyond the first half hour or so! INS is strong and projects - I can even smell it on yesterday's clothes from a foot of distance. Even on my skin it lasts several hours, which is a feat since my body chemistry seems to neutralize the vast majority of perfumes within 30-60 minutes. In terms of fragrance, it's a beautiful, elegant, feminine sweet floral with some 'gravitas' to it. It's womanly, not girlish, and it's got a certain thickness to it...It smells 'liquid' or 'silky' to me, rather than 'airy' like a lot of perfumes do. It's primarily iris and orange blossom with an ever-so-slight spicy/woodsiness in the background that gives it that extra oomph. Grade A juice!

Thanks to lovely MrsLetterO I am wearing a sample of this today. All I can say is that so far is that the opening notes are very promising and it smells gorgeous to me. So, after wearing this little beauty for 8 hours, this is what I think...opening quite sweet, almost like a cross between Tom Ford Violet Blonde and Balenciaga Paris which is quite strange as there are supposedly no violets here? The drydown is a bit soapy and a bit powdery, somewhat similar to Iris Nobile but less woody. The scent would be suited well for a cold rainy day, just like today, as it is a lovely warm comfort scent which slowly turns into a 'nuzzle' scent. One thing I will say is this though...shame it only comes in 75mls size and shame it's soooo pricey.

This is a very elegant yet powerful feminine iris. A crisp delicate mandarine and bergamot float over an icy cold perfect Iris Pallida which reigns supreme here. A bit of Ylang 1st press, then lacy orange blossom and sambac jasmine are woven throughout add understated complexity never smothering the Iris. A very restrained and light woody base of locust and birch frame this magnificently tailored garden in flawless, relaxed ease. No excessive sweets outside of what the natural florals bring. A touch heady, but not indolic in any way. Not much in the way of oily greasy orris and low on the powdery spectrum to my nose. Subtle frankincense and wood mitigates it with beautiful balance. I absolutely adore this
