Magnolia Infinita

I have endured a love-hate relationship with Acqua Di Parma fragrances...okay, primarily a love relationship. But as others have cited, their recent target group, marketing strategies and price points leave me bewildered. So, my husband entered our bedroom just after I applied this lovely perfume and he said, "Oh wow...I smell CITRUS...like lots and lots of citrus...like fresh squeezed orange citrus." Yup. MAGNOLIA & BERGAMOT BOMB. Straight up magnolia with lots of bergamot and citrus is how this perfume undeniably opens. I have loved and worn Magnolia Nobile and while I am not a perfume expert, I definitely detect a few major differences. On me, Magnolia Nobile wears more lemon-y citrus, woodier and milky-warm creamier than Magnolia Infinita. MI opens strong with the aforementioned notes and within 5 minutes morphs into a sweetly bloomed jasmine, tuberose, ylang-ylang, white floral fragrance. And FWIW, despite my efforts to detect patchouli and musk, if said notes are present, I do not easily spot them. Huge magnolia, lots of jasmine, repeating white floral bouquet with hints of something dewy and green. MI is not powdery and "heady" as Magnolia Nobile can be. With that said, I think Magnolia Nobile is a more complex fragrance than Magnolia Infinita. In some regards, Magnolia Infinita wears more veil-like, thinner and a bit more ethereal than does Magnolia Nobile. I do love the heady woods, amber, vanilla, patchouli, etc that makes MN what it is. Nonetheless, I like both perfumes very much. So, longevity is okay at 5-6 hours (skin scent) and silage is fair. Not sure if it's really for me but I snagged a full bottle of Magnolia Infinita at a very decent price. I'll see how Magnolia Infinita wears over the next few months.

I was given a sampler of this scent, and I did get the citrus and spice up front. As a little time went by the floral came through. I actually caught the patchouli pretty quick, but it’s an underlayment for the floral. I don’t personally find the slight “soapiness” (my made-up term) a distraction. I actually like it a lot, and I like that the citrus and floral keeps the spice/woodsyness of the patchouli from coming too far forward. I’ll probably buy it for my next scent purchase.

Call me crazy but this is my favorite floral in my collection (at least currently). It's GORGEOUS. I get a dewy magnolia with a musk base, both notes I fall head over heels for. It isn't artificial or reminiscent of cleaning materials to me like others have suggested. As a person who despises most designer florals, for lack of realism and their plastic nature, this one truly does it for me.

I think that it is insane that this fragrance does not have a higher rating. Probably the community’s bias against white florals. For those that love that profile, this is some of the best stuff around. And it projects and lasts, which is notable for a fragrance of this type. I love smelling this on my wife on a fresh spring day.

I just love this one, very fresh floral, clean and elegant. Not revolutionary but interesting enough to keep me sniffing my arm. Lovely dry down.

This is a pretty floral fragrance, great for spring and definitely could be unisex.

Magnolia Infinita is one of those fragrances where you think “that’s pleasant”, but 30 minutes later you’ve forgotten you even smelled it. It’s a very pleasant citrusy soapy white floral scent, which smells great, but is undoubtedly rather boring. The scent is primarily focused around the sunny lemon-tinged note of magnolia, with its clean soapy aspects amplified by a generous helping of jasmine. An array of gentle citrus brightens everything up further until you are left with what is essentially a refreshment in fragrance form. It’s not particularly impressive, definitely nothing groundbreaking. But, it does smell good. I don’t think a scent like this warrants the sort of price tag Acqua di Parma puts up, but I suppose it is worth trying if you find yourself drawn to summery white florals.

A very powerful citrusy magnolia fragrance. The magnolia note is the most prominent one, but I can get all three citrus scents as well. However, I don't get any of the other notes. If you like white floral and citrus fragrances, then this one could be a great choice. It's super fresh too, perfect for those hotter days. However, performance-wise, it's alright. I found that it rarely left a trail, it's definitely an intimate scent. It lasts also for about 3-4 hours, but after that, it's just the musky base that's left, but not that you can smell it anyways unless you shove your nose right where you sprayed it. I'd probably rate it a 6.5/10. The scent is very lovely, but the performance is meh. At least for that price.

Pleasant but mediocre sunny floral with a decent blip of zing up top, intermittently charming magnolia in the middle and a rather anonymous base. A little too much rose for my taste, and the meeting point of floral/citrus gets a bit more soapy than I'd really like - the glorious cool-creaminess of magnolia, which I was hoping to be showcased as the main event here, is muted beneath sweeter and more generic stuff all around. Really not at all bad but nothing special in my view.

I've been looking for a good magnolia fragrance as I've enjoyed their natural smell lately. This smelled like a photorealistic magnolia on paper with it's lemon-y, creamy scent, and was eager to try it on my skin. After a good dosage on my forearm, I was overwhelmed by the smell of jasmine. Most whiffs, I only get jasmine. Every few whiffs, I pick up magnolia. It's a lovely scent, but I wish there were more magnolia than jasmine.

Finally got a tiny bottle at the airport. Acqua di parma's Magnolia infinita wears like lush midsummers in Shanghai; Smells like Magnolia figo to be exact. Hardly wear white floral and get tired of them easily with once or twice wear, but this one is an exception. There is a bit of neutral tone in its formula which balanced it quite well. Love it.

Great spring office perfume - not overpowering, not spreading too much, just the good amount. The opening put a smile on my face (I do love a good flowery scent), dry out speed was moderate, if you have plans after work day you'd need to reapply. I could imagine myself sitting on a grassy hill in a white dress with this scent.

Excellent offering for a woman. Magnolia is clear, clean, and concise along with other florals and citrus notes. Drydown is a sweet fresh jasmine and patchouli. Scent 7.5/10 Performance 7/10 (outlasted several others from the house)

Is in tha same ball park as Jour from Hermes in my opinion. Fresh, white floral, specifically the Magnolia, quite nice but nothing unique. Drawback : performance and price...

I really loved this fragrance. As a guy I think this is unisex and clean.

You definitely must love florals to like this fragrance. It opens like a pure green floral. You're surrounded by bouquets of flowers which petals and leaves are firm, fresh and a bit wet, straight out of the cold room of a flower shop. Unfortunately it reminds me a little bit of a cemetery. Once it settles (which happened after like 4 hours on my skin) it's more enjoyable in my opinion, it loses the wet-leaf quality and gets a bit rounder, but it stays strongly floral. Am I the only one who thinks this is somehow similar to Burberry Weekend (with Burberry Weekend drying down sharper and persisting much longer)? I don't love it, but it's not a bad fragrance.

Magnolia Infinita has predominant patchouli, in addition to the obvious magnolia, and unfortunately for me, the patchouli takes over rather quickly- usually patchouli is a total turn-off for me because it tends to drown out everything else- fortunately, this is a high quality patch that I find less offensive than most- the overall effect is quiet, "take me serious" sophistication- and I think this is a magnolia that would be most enjoyable in cool, dampish weather- Thanks M., for sharing this with me!

Not my least favourite fragrance of all time, but the white floral note is strong in this one, and that's just not something that i'm into. I'd say it pulls "classic", rather than "old" though. And the amount of warmth in it is lovely. Could use a little less musk.

A good office fragrance, ideal for a young person. 5/10

So this landed in my hands by accident, via ordering a decant of Frédéric Malle’s Eau de Magnolia and somehow receiving this instead. Not the ultimate worst thing, but seriously, I really REALLY wish I got my Malle instead. The opening 8: citrusy like that of many magnolia scents, but it lacks any real personality. Not one with a bright spark, nor a zesty juice. Neither mouthwateringly sweet, not even one with creamy tang. Just this muted, polite citrus that fades into the background almost immediately. And for a magnolia fragrance? Okay. The magnolia is there, sure, but it’s clean, usually buttery petals scrubbed of texture, sharing space with squeaky jasmine in a way that leans just a little soapy. Not full-on detergent, but it’s walking the line... teetering on it. I swear I catch an oily neroli in here, too, the whole fragrance whispering sterile-white-floral rather than celebrating the very bloom in its name. It’s not offensive, but it's not the least bit great—it’s just... there. AAAGH. I ACHE for Eau de Magnolia. Sunlit, silken brightness in a citrus that actually moves, a whipped-dairy-esque, dewy magnolia misted with airy colognes. Their pyramids may share resemblance, but Acqua di Parma's feels like a lifeless echo in comparison with NO sparkle, NO dynamism, just a flat, polite floral that plays it too safe. I can’t help but think about what I should have been wearing instead.

If you like white florals, you should love this. It's very well balanced and fresh. Unfortunately, the magnolia pulls very air freshener on me so this isn't something I can enjoy but that tends to be my experience with white floral heavy fragrances anyway. It's also very expensive for what it is, I think for this price there should be more depth, but probably a good thing for my wallet that I don't love it.

This smells like urinal cleaner to me.

Smells like a lovely floral bomb bar of soap. Nothing to contrast the floral notes so it’s a bit nauseating. The rose over powers it a bit. It’s pretty but smells rather cheap to me. Just not a great balance in the notes. A hard pass for me.

What is going on with Acqua di Parma? Once my favorite house, I feel like they're totally dropping the ball the past few years. They're really doubling down on their endless string of fragrances showcasing a single dominating note, particularly floral notes as of late. Don't forget their exclusive Harrod's fragrance, Zafferano, that no one else gets to experience. Look at the very few reviews of these recent offerings. Hardly anyone is interested in them. They just aren't impressive. Next, spend some time on their social media. They have spent months marketing a special edition Mirto di Panarea that has been on the market for YEARS. It's a fine fragrance, I own the original, but it's not particularly interesting. It's not like the fragrance community talks about it much. Why spend months marketing a years-old fragrance that was simply repackaged in a gimmicky, new bottle? Finally, examine HOW they market their fragrances. They're constantly throwing these swanky brunches with fancy table arrangements which only the smallest percentage of the wealthy class will ever attend. Is that the target audience? Unfortunately, it seems like it. They price their fragrances exorbitantly high but you'll see them on resale websites for a TINY fraction of their retail price. $300 for Lily of the Valley? Are you out of your mind? In what world is that a $300 fragrance?People are having difficulty reselling it online for $50-60. The average person just isn't interested in AdP and won't spend much to obtain one. I'm not sure that this will ever be read by someone at AdP, but, if so, please know that I love many AdP offerings. I own seven. Colonia is one of my favorite of my entire collection. The brand has such potential, I wish AdP would do more to tap into that potential. Please stop with the "ingredients" fragrances and build a modern successor to the legendary Colonia. Not a Colonia FLANKER, put that line to rest. Create the next iconic Italian magnum opus in perfumery for the 21st century. A new fragrance. Something that is high-quality, mass appealing, and UNIQUE. It should set trends in the fragrance world. Finally, the NUMBER ONE complaint about AdP fragrances is that they have serious performance issues. Pull out all the stops. Retain the best perfumer in the world and create a halo fragrance that silences the critics: make it project and make it last. AdP was once at the top of the fragrance world; it has all the potential to be there once again if it's willing to adapt with the times, and focus less on marketing the frills of wealth and status, and more on the perfumery itself.

This is another masterpiece by Acqua di Parma. There are so many floral fragrances out there trying to achieve something like this, and doing so poorly. This is what Gucci Bloom is trying to achieve. The onset spray feels very 'red'- juicy, sweet- like washing rose petals in the rain. But it's very REAL, not synthetic- that's what everyone else's is missing. It's also not sharp at all- it's almost ozonic but very smooth- not screechy in the least. Then the drydown- sweet florals but very intentional. The citrus and floral combo makes me think of a blooming orange grove and jasmine at night. But it's so photorealistic- it feels like I'm holding a bouquet, not like I just sprayed a fragrance. It's sweet and strong and comforting- it also sometimes reads 'lilac' to me but maybe that's the magnolia accord. Basically, if you're going to do a floral fragrance, do it right and go with this one because I think it's the best I've ever smelled in that genre.

I'm wearing creed atm but reading about Acqua di parma. I love their marketing. It works, obviously.

Fresh and floral. Nothing too impressive. Rose is noticeable.

Ridiculous price. As all of the Signatures of the sun line.
