Peonia Nobile

This was an immediate, head-over-heels love for me, I still remember it clearly. I accompanied a friend to Selfridges in London one day, and that was the first time I had even heard of the house itself. As someone who had always skimped on perfumes before, I bought a bottle then and there without giving any thought to the cost. I found it airy and elegant, just drop-dead gorgeous. I wore it with such pride that I even sprayed a little on my pillows; I wanted to be surrounded by it. What surprised me was how no one ever complimented me on it, including my husband, whose response was an underwhelming “it is nice” when I first showed it to him. I found it strange that no one else seemed as enamoured as I was. But it didn’t change my feelings, as it's rare for a scent to move me so deeply. After I used up my first small bottle, I tried to snatch one from eBay. It turned out to be a deal a little too good to be true, and I’m convinced it wasn’t authentic, as it had none of the power of the original. While I’m now gravitating toward different types of scents, this one still holds a special place in my heart, and I’m fairly certain I’ll return to it someday.

I have owned and loved (still do love) a few Aqua di Parma perfumes. Someone was unloading a new bottle of Peonia Nobile, so I purchased it. As an aside, there are many types and genres of perfumes that I love. I've always loved a nicely blended rose note. And I adored smelling the clusters of fragrant peonies in my garden (in a previous home) when the flowers were in full bloom. Peonies are beautiful and their fragrance is lovely. I go through phases with fragrances. And sometimes, I just crave a non-complicated, straight-up, uber-feminine floral fragrance. I adore blended jasmine. I love certain tuberose perfumes. I love certain gardenia fragrances. What's there to say? Uplifting, bright, slightly spicy, feminine, rosy peony with a gorgeous amber-patchouli backbone. The raspberry makes the opening bright. The geranium keeps things from becoming too sweet. The drydown is heavenly. This perfume is gorgeous. This fragrance is a complete and total love.

You ever look at a set of notes and go, hmmm I wonder... then you get the fragrance and still wonder??? Not this one. This fragrance smells like its notes and it’s gorgeous! I understand the comparisons to Mon Paris Intensement, the raspberry, rose, and patch easily draw similarities. But this is just done so much better. SO much better. This is a natural beauty, but she’s not quiet. She has presence and strength. Unapologetically and relentlessly feminine. This is one of the better presentations of this style of patchouli. No chemical tinge... pure, rich, sweet, and fresh. Perfect. If you are not a floral lover, and I really mean this, steer clear. This is not at all a beginner friendly floral. However... If you love true florals, this scent will be a welcome and captivating assault.

Peony is one of my favourite notes so by name some I figured I would love this, and after waiting patiently for my online blind buy it arrives, and I absolutely love it! It is very peony, light floral, girly, airy, summery without being something that is exclusive to summer only since it does have that clean lightness to it. It’s office safe in small amounts the floral could make it absolutely obnoxious to someone hyper sensitive to fragrances. I was so excited to get this, and I love it so don’t get me wrong, but for the full price (I bought a small travel size for 20 bucks ish) I just don’t think I could justify it because there are many similar perfumes out there at a more affordable price point.

Opens with a very punchy geranium and rose. After ten minutes everything rounds out a bit and the peony takes over. There's tge herbaceous floralcy of a pink garden peony with none of the nose-wrinkling spikey-ness. I was surprised by how much of the drydown echoes Magnolia Nobile - definite "DNA" similarities - though of course this pulls pinker and rosier vs citrus. I think this calls for slightly cooler temps - the sweetness of the raspberry and the heady strength of the stuff reads a little dense for high heat - to me at least. I don't believe in perfume genders, but this is one of the most traditionally feminine scents I own.

I Love You, I had to have you right away! This is such a beautiful fragrance, I could bathe in it. It is fresh, sophisticated floral with a beautiful dry down. At first sniff, I knew I need this in my life. I bought a full bottle right away. I love the entire collection, it was hard to choose just one, but Peonia definitely made me return to the store for more sniffs, over and over again. WEAR UPDATE: It is now May and the weather is getting warmer. My fragrant Peonia is turning into a cloying, sticky mess. I will put it aside during the hotter months in hope that she will behave better towards the colder months. Bye for now.

This perfume is my signature scent along with Izia by Sisley. They have a much of a likeness between the two of them. This one is a little bit sweeter. I love the zingy burst of the raspberry and the geranium that grounds it a bit and prevents this from becoming another soapy peony forward scent. IMO it is a masterpiece. Timelessness and classic. This will never go out of style. It is like Chanel but the Italian version. The patchouli is not bothersome as it is in some other fragrances. I wore this the other day. It’s gorgeous and I adore adore adore it! It is elegance through and through.

I knew I was going to be biased when my first test brought me back to my grandmother's garden in summer. This is a beautiful peony rose blend. The black pepper adds a spicy note to it that I never realized was a part of peony flowers, but it is. Clean and slightly soapy in a good way. This beauty was made for warn summer days. Lasts on me about 5 hours. One or two sprays is all you need, more and it could overpower the weak! Nothing chemical smelling about it, this is pure class. Give it about half an hour to mellow out on and you will know this is a very well made, quality gem.

Absolutely beautiful Peony fragrance, but also strong and punchy. It is definitely a 1spray kind of perfume, 2 if you dare. I like to layer 1 spray with something a bit juicer and fruitier with a bit more raspberry. The rose and raspberry come through just enough but not over done. Too many sprays though and you can teeter from beautiful to headache inducing extremely quick so be advised. The first time I tried it I sprayed 2 sprays and I completely hated it. It has spring time notes but I feel it cuts through winter icy air with ease and grace.

This is sooooooo pretty, my goodness. Very peony-forward but also not like any other peony scent I've tried; until now I thought peony was just one of those notes that are always "large and in charge" but there's equal amounts of freshness here as well as something deep? earthy? in the base anchoring it. I had a feeling it'd be something like oakmoss or a subtle pinch of patchouli and I was right! It's that and a lil' pepper I'm smelling. A really clever combo that on paper sounds like it would clash horribly but works wonderfully.

Peonia Nobile by Acqua di Parma is a spicy peony with geranium and patchouli adding an extra punch! I definitely get roses and hints of fresh freesia but not too much raspberry. This is no quiet lady, but don’t be mistaken she is pure class. You can hear her stilettos click across the marbled floors of her office as everyone’s heads turn to face the door before she appears in her hot pink dress ready to do business. She knows what she wants, and by god your gonna give it to her! Stunning fragrance!

This was the first perfume I've smelled in a long, long time, that simply made me say, "Oh, wow! Wow!" I just love it. Really full of peony fragrance, especially at first, but then it seemed to me almost all the notes asserted themselves and created the kind of perfume we used to get, with this lovely blended harmony of a fragrance. The only notes I really didn't catch were freesia and pepper. There's something here for nearly anyone to love, I think, and what a delightful scent for May!

Absolutely heavenly. I feel like I'm floating on a cloud of springtime. On my second bottle and I have to say I love it even more this time. The essence of floral springtime here where peonies are a part of spring, and actually smells like them. The rose is perfect. And the amber and musk anchor it all sweetly in place. They didn't go overboard with the sweetness, either. I am SO tired of over-sweet perfumes. I want grown-up women's florals, not little girls strawberry bath gel.

Like all line ADP Nobile, this is again a very botanical peony (with important rose behind). A juicy raspberry is added and overall is beautiful and sublime. Among my favourite floral fragrances ever. My favourite in the ADP Nobile selection, even if they are all wonderful floral scents! The plus is that peony is quite a hard to find note. This perfume is not vintage at all and very versatile for age and season. Highly reccomended, safe office scent, safe blind buy. 4.5/5

I love this! For me this smell mostly of peony, and it is a natural peony smell. I don't understand the ones that says it is a syntethic smells, because for me it is not. There is a hint of rose and sweetness for me, but the peony is the one that sticks out. Quite good longevity and silage. It is very fresh and ageless, although it has the lightness of youth.

This is divine. Managed to secure a 50ml bottle, as I believe this is now discontinued. It is on my top 3 rose perfumes that I own. I love feminine perfumes that smell feminine. Kinda getting sick of all these unisex perfumes where they always tend to lean a bit masculine. This is decidedly feminine with that quintessential Italian dolce vita...

To me the rose is dominating, instead of peony. It seems rather linear. It starts with a very strong floral opening and the musk just slightly lingers in the background. It smells like Bvlgari Rose Essentielle, only slightly creamier. The longevity is good, i apply a few sprays in the morning and it stays until office hours end.

Out of these 3 sisters, Peonia Nobile is my favorite. Second is Magnolia. I didn't enjoy Rosa. The quality of these perfumes are excellent. A bit pricey, but worth it. You're getting the quality that you're paying for. Just make sure that you actually enjoy the notes, because a little goes a long way.

i've just tried this perfume and i like it: it contains peony and pepper that i love. It's very rich, juicy, fruity, you can clearly smell raspberry. But it's also wearable, not too strong. It's feminine and the package is so cool, pink and gold.

This is what I wanted Lola to smell like! Pure peoney bliss, yet wearable. Flowery, fruity, juicy peony with great silage and longevity which is where Marc Jacobs Lola let me down. Beautiful spring/ summer scent, very well made, love it :)

This is a beautiful fragrance. Given as a gift to me and I'd never tried it. Beautiful peppery rose/raspberry. Very classic and modern at the same tine. Good sillage and one I'll wear often.

ahhhhh...soooo dreamy.. airy.. creamy.. sensual.. poeny.. whispery.. almost tangy.. in a subtle almost sweet.. pure flowery.. rosy.. cloudy.. out of this world sensation...so pure.. so innocent ..yet alluring.. so fine ..so intimate so fresh.. so beautiful ..so unique ...soooooo peony ...almost velvety ..almost tangible love at first sniff so reminiscent of old nostalgia to old love movies.. old powdery peony boudoir rooms.. lipsticks.. powders.. make up bags.. in a fresh frenchy way..in a nostalgic modern way.. in a very sensual intimate way ..it smells like cold cream like fine lotions with a hint of powdery but not musky or aldehyde like strong pungent ones a very soft cold sensual soft cream ...it is sparkling and crisp yet serene and mellow vibrant full of life yet down to earth..it speaks from the heart its true to its essence ..simple classic yet dreamy and innovative.. i can almost drink this ..i can drown in it ..and feel happy.. i can see myself in the first peony perfume without headaches.. all of this love is coming from a reviewer who is not sooo in to rosy perfumes !!..this is going to be my converter to rosy land ..i think this is as pink as pink can get.. its like looking at the world through rosy lenses..wear it and you ll surely be happy.. some how ..some way.. it has the power to transform any mood to a happier more graceful one .. when i first apply it i am reminded of all the pretty finer more delicate rosy perfumes like delicate rose by trusardi but this one has so much depth so much dimension its not light yet it is its so strange so beautiful it reminded me a bit of the l'occitane line for its purity yet this surpasses everything i ve ever smelled in the rosy perfume world surpassing even the annick goutals and so many from the niche world .. i am so in love with this and i am happy to be the first on to have it before it was launched in lafayet dubai ! what i love about acqua di parma is the lack of alcohol the perfumes are so beautiful and skin friendly you can bathe in them they are not astringent or burn due to the high alcohol they are mainly perfume oils and acqua !perfect for summer days non cloying non sticky and utterly fresh and fine yet with a subtle allure and finesse only to be found from this prestigious house

The opening of Acqua di Parma Peonia Nobile is a very pretty peony: gently rosy but without the fruity tartness of a rose, adorned by a fresh green nuance. The whole effect feels round and transparent, almost like a peony frozen in a cristal ball. Then comes the sweet raspberry. Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of raspberry, because many raspberry notes make me think of artificial flavouring and the stickiness of sweet jam. Admittedly, the raspberry in Peonia Nobile is quite mild compared to most "artificial" raspberry accord and far from being saccharine, but it sweetens the floral peony and muds it as well, therefore breaks the cristalline effect in the opening and turns it into a more conventional fruity floral. However, another interesting turn comes along after about 5 hours. As the floralcy gradually wanes with time, Peonia Nobile reveals a peppery, salty ambery base instead of a more conventional soapy white musk, and it feels quite masculine compared to the first few hours. I experienced a similar transition between masculine woody peppery and pretty pink floralcy in Rosa Nobile, but in reverse. The pink flowers chez Acqua di Parma got some backbones! The sillage of Peonia Nobile is moderate to soft, and the longevity is around 8 hours. While I'm not very interested in its sweet fruity floral heart, the peony opening is quite agreeable and pleasant, and the base is surprisingly daring for such a pretty floral. I think it would be interesting to sample, but I would recommend against blind buying if you're looking for a safe, pretty fruity floral.

Very nice! I now own all five of the AdP Nobiles, and while this one isn't my favorite, I still like it. I do detect that chemical smell others have commented on, but it's transient and I only get it as the top notes transition to the middle. Still, it's what keeps this from being a true love for me. Surprisingly, the amber is really amped up on my skin, lending an oriental touch to the composition. Some say this is a great spring fragrance, but I have a strong feeling it will be even more lovely in the fall. I can not detect the raspberry at all, which is a little disappointing. I'm not a huge lover of fruity florals but I was looking forward to the raspberry playing off the rose and the peony. All in all, a solid perfume, with good projection and silage. The longevity is also good - moderate plus on my fragrance-eating skin. I purchased this, a tester, on Ebay. Like all the Nobiles, it is pretty expensive through traditional retailers. I don't think I would pay full price for this one, but I am so happy to have it in my collection, and I will be wearing this. EDIT - the raspberry has really exploded on me now that the weather has cooled off, and I love it. The only things keeping the fragrance from being a love all around is the sharpness of the rose - identical to the one in Rosa Nobile but thankfully nowhere near as powerful - and the patchouli is a bit dirtier and more obvious than it was during the warm weather.

I've been aware of Acqua Di Parma's existance for a while and I am more familliar with their more cologne-y type offerings, they do without any shadow of a doubt, smell great but they've just never really appealed to me. I recieved a sample of this from SpaceNK with my Do Son order and I decided to give this a try today, all I can say is...WOW This opens up with a very mature/vintage accord, from the name and the colour I did expect something more bright, fresh, airy and youthful, but after the inital blast settled down, a vintage rose bloomed, then a tart raspberry accord emerged and that was followed with a slightly peppery kick, that is basically how this smells on me, no peony, no amber, no patchouli, no geranium and no freesia or musk, its a raspberry rose combo with a peppery kick to keep it interesting, I actually really do like this! Despite its fruity nature, it stays smelling very fresh and floral rather than veering into the syrupy/jammy terratory (of which I am not a fan) Silage is good, its a moderate projector but its also quite soft at the same time, longevity is about 8 hours on my skin. I really do like this and I would consider getting a full bottle in the future, but for now I'll keep experimenting with my sample!

I got a very good deal on this from a netshop and as a floral lover had to grab it. I'd say this is a bit more of "an acquired taste" than let's say such crowd pleaser's as Armani's Pivoine Suzou, Dior's Blooming bouquet or L'Occitane's Pivoine flora and not as rosy as Maison Lancome's Rose Pivoine. There is a distinct perfuminess that some might say equals a more mature take on peony, - this is not a shampoo like peony, nor a juicy floral, but a fresh floral that has some weight in it from the geranium, patchouli and musk. I'd say PN works best in the early spring when there's still some coolness in the air and the mornings can be even a bit cold although the weather warms up towards the day and the sun is back after a long winter. This has also a slight vintagy feel to it, again adding to the "I might be a floral, but not a frivolous one", impression of the scent. I'd say this is a very nice daytime/spring/work to leisure option for people who can appreciate scents like YSL's Paris and Parisienne, Dior's Absolutely Blooming and Bvlgari's Rosa Goldea. A lighter, fresher take on the theme, but in the same family/vibe.

I've had this for a while, mostly because I needed it to complete my collection of the 5 Nobile EDPs. I know you Fragheads understand! 😉 I had purchased Rosa before this and was not fond of it as I tend to go towards jammy rose more than fresh and green, though I've learned to appreciate rose in many forms. When I first tried Peonia, I could barely distinguish it from Rosa and was disappointed, though still happy to have all of them. Anyway, for some reason, the pink liquid beckoned me the other day, and I know find it much more appealing. I'm taken by the raspberry, and other than a period of transition near the beginning with an odd chemical smell (likely freesia), I now really like it and plan on wearing it often this spring. Now I need to find Rosa and see if it too provides me with a new experience.

This is the only scent from Acqua di Parma I’ve tried so far, and it’s lovely. The peony and rose together are dewy and sweet, but not lacking in substance, thanks to the bright fruity note (I don’t pick up raspberry specifically, but there are definitely red fruits there). I don’t smell anything synthetic about this fragrance, as others have mentioned, but I do get some pepperiness in the drydown. That being said, I think those with a sensitivity to black pepper in fragrance wouldn’t be too bothered by it because it’s on the subtler side. On me, it lasts about 5 hours, and the projection is decent. Overall, Peonia Nobile is a pleasant feminine scent for spring/summer, and if it weren’t for the price, I’d definitely be contemplating a full-size bottle.

Mmm.... Acqua Di Parma Peonia Nobile is a delicious floral scent. I've been on the hunt for a luminous peony ever since testing the discontinued Stella in Two Peony. Peonia's spice doesn't quite make it for me though. Stella still remains my favorite. However, Peonia is pretty, fragrantly pink, and with the raspberry note, is more floral and sweet. It's a bit linear but has a clean, opulent presence, reminding a bit of the floral accords in Lancome Miracle. Peonia is a an absolute safe blind buy if you're into straight forward pink florals. However, my quest still continues for one with a bit more attitude.

I agree w/ @Ashbud it does smell like a fresher Gucci Guilty pour femme in the burgandy/purple bottle. Dries down to fruity raspberry/rose, peony, freesia and musk. This is a much better rose fragrance than their Rosa Nobile. I have something similar from Casswell and Massey simply called Peony. Not in the data base here but CM's Peony has a bit more of a heavy amber dry down which I like better, not to mention the price is better as well especially since CM is very generous w/ coupons. If you like this but don't like the price tag, give CM Peony a try, they have sample bottles.

A lovely lovely perfume. I agree with a post below that compares it to Stella In Two Peony although this doesn't have as much peppery depth as Stella does. There's nothing I dislike about this fragrance, it is super pretty. Groundbreaking? No, but what it does it does VERY well. Edit: I've barely reached for this scent as it's way too sweet. Now I'm in my late twenties I seem to be moving away from these scents. If you're 18 and like sweet fruity florals this will be for you but sadly I'll be parting with it.

This is a pretty pink floral scent, perfect for hot days. It’s fresh, clean, and sweet. I don’t like most scents with roses but the raspberry and peonies make it fairly enjoyable. I don’t smell the pepper or amber though. The performance is pretty decent. The sillage is quite moderate, and it lasts up to 4 hours. The value is alright. 7/10. It’s not for everyone and could be cheaper but it’s clean and enjoyable (if you like pink flowers).

A pretty, if forgettable scent. If you really like pink flowers such as rose and peony, this ~may~ be worth checking out. It's feminine, beautiful, and floral. There's a slight brightness from the raspberry as well. There's not much more to it than that. The longevity/performance on me isn't fabulous either. I'd recommend it if you really want to try a new simple, pink floral fragrance. I like it, but I wouldn't purchase a full bottle.

This smells like nice and fruity (yes, fruity) composition more than it smells floral. And unfortunately I can not smell any peony in this one at all. It smells like fruity candy mixed with either powder or soap. Clean girl aesthetic, youthful and nice, something you would wear with a frilly dress and a wide hat in the fields of southern France, maybe. But I would consider it too youthful for the office or professional environment.

Peonia Nobile could easily be a creation of Montale or Mancera. It isn't the most original fragrance. But I enjoy the duality of floral/fruit with dry notes. It's a raspberry-rose-patchouli-musk perfume. The opening is too much for me, thankfully it gets better with time. The middle and drydown are marvelous, more delicate and elegant than the first impression.

Very strong on the patchouli in the opening, but settles down to a womanly rose/geranium floral bomb. It's what I wish the Rosa Nobile to smell like, which is more dewy/soft and one-dimensional in comparison to Peonia. Peonia might be a grown-up version of Rosa, more complexity and sophistication from the patchouli, and more bold with the red floral notes.

I prefer men like fragrances and bought it because I like the brand and it was with serous discount. Dont really mind to own it. It smells exactly like peony from where I was grown. Not bad to have a superfeminine fragrance in my collection of masculine bottles

The least interesting Nobile. I just received it, and as much as I would like to praise it, I just can't do that. Peonia Nobile is a very pedestrian musky rose fragrance, pleasant nonetheless. It's somewhat darker and not as vibrant as Rosa Nobile.

I would not call it 100 or even 99% realistic smell of peony flower. I got more rose then peony from. it. Reminded me about Pleasures Intense by Estee Lauder (pink bottle). Floral, linear, pretty, elegant. Safe blind buy for rose and peony lowers.

As a fan of peony, I wanted to try this one. I think it’s very nice. The initial spray reminds me of EL Pleasures. The dry down, Calvin Klein Euphoria. It’s not exactly like either but probably why so many reviews say it smells “vintage.”

A beautiful garden of lush peonies along with rose and raspberry bushes that are all in full bloom. The black pepper and patchouli give this floral delight some depth. A spectacular spring or summer fragrance!

To my nose, this opens with a blast of freshly grated ginger. After a few minutes a little rose and musk joins the show, but overall this is a pretty simple scent. Fresh and pleasant, but a little boring.

This one smells like a weaker version of PDM Delina. I shouldn't be surprised, it does share a lot that rose-patchouli DNA. I already own Delina and Armani Rose D Arabie, no need for this one too. Pass.

If you like Euphoria like perfumes, you will love this. I'm getting a lots of patchouli at background. There is no fresh peonies here, more woodier and intense. Compliments getter.

ignore the first 15 minutes of mothballs. settles into a nice juicy floral with a light musk to back it up.

Opulent noble floral perfume. Not intense but rather sublime and pleasant. Glad I got it.

Bright peony and gentle raspberry very well blended. Feminine and summery.
