Acqua di Parma Sandalo EDP feels less like a fragrance and more like a ritual—measured, composed, and deeply reassuring. This is classic Italian perfumery at its most graceful, where quality speaks softly and lasts all day. The opening is luminous yet restrained: bergamot and orange bring a gentle citrus glow, softened by petitgrain that keeps things green and refined rather than bright or flashy. The composition remains balanced throughout—lavender and sandalwood in constant dialogue, neither overpowering the other. Performance is outstanding for a fragrance of this character. On my skin, it lasts well beyond 10 hours, maintaining a refined presence from start to finish. Projection is tasteful and controlled—noticeable in close quarters, never demanding attention. It wears like a tailored jacket rather than a statement piece. What makes Sandalo special is its sense of timelessness. It doesn’t chase trends or rely on excess. Instead, it reflects the understated luxury and craftsmanship that Acqua di Parma is known for. Calm, confident, and impeccably composed. This is a scent for those who appreciate nuance, quality ingredients, and elegance that doesn’t need validation. A true pleasure to wear—and one that quietly earns its place in a well-curated collection.

Of course, an opinion about something like a perfume is always subjective. I am drawn to old XX century, regarding the taste in perfumery. Acqua di Parma is one of my favourite perfume houses, because they take a lot of inspirations from the past. Many of their olfactory projects are in the style of chypre, fougere, "eau de cologne" classic perfumery, which was very popular starting from XIX century. Sandalo is a Fougere perfume, focused on a sandalwood note. Very smooth blending, lots of fresh and herbaceous notes coming through on the start (together with Linalool, Ethyl Linalool and Linalyl Acetate too), I also detect lots of body and "texture" subjectively and I am so curious what stays behind this effect. It feels to be very Musk heavy formula. I would love to know which Musks perfumer used here. You receive a very aromatic sandalwood interpretation in this perfume. A perfume which presents lots of fresh "eau de cologne" character being quite thick and dense in the same time. Quite inspiring, in my opinion. A classic explained in a modern perfume language. Aromatic, herbaceous, fresh, and creamy in the dry down. Very elegant and sophisticated. The olfactive profile is absolutely stunning imo. If you like Dior Eau Sauvage EDT, Tom Ford Beau de Jour EDP, Terre d'Hermes line, Guerlain Vetiver profiles or Floris Vert Fougere -> I strongly recommend to try this.

Sandalo Eau de Parfum Acqua di Parma: The "Professional" Masterpiece I’ll be honest: I already own a sandalwood fragrance, so when I was in the store, I had no intention of trying this one. But the salesman was persistent, and man, am I glad he was. Oh my god, it’s amazing. It was love at first sniff, and I couldn't stop smelling it. What’s wild about this scent is that the official notes and accords don't do it justice. If you look at the list, you won't be able to guess how this actually smells—it’s something totally different and hard to describe. For instance, the amber here isn't that typical "sweet" amber; it’s much more exotic and sensual. This is "pure gentleman" in a bottle. It’s not for teenagers or casual hangouts. Instead, think of high-level professionals: The Persona: Lawyers, doctors, judges, businessmen, or diplomats. The Vibe: A man who is smart, composed, and knows exactly what he’s doing in life. I have no idea how the perfumer created this specific scent from those ingredients, but it is totally unique and absolutely signature-worthy. Rating: 8/10 (A sophisticated, "smart" fragrance that completely surprised me.)

Sandalo Eau de Parfum Acqua di Parma is a spicy, woody, aromatic and semi-fougere fragrance. It has a citrus opening accompanied by spices such as cardamom. Little by little the main note of this fragrance begins to show itself, sandalwood, which in combination with lavender gives a soapy sensation, like some fougere fragrances from the 80s. A couple of hours later, when it reaches its drying phase, a slightly aromatic, and quite pleasant, woody aroma remains. This Acqua di Parma fragrance based on sandalwood is an ideal fragrance to use in any season of the year, it is quite versatile, to be used in office work, formal and casual situations, I see it being the signature fragrance of a person with life determined, who enjoys life, a little mature in age, although this is only my perception. In terms of longevity, its duration was 8 to 9 hours. with a good sillage for the first hour and then it is closer to the skin. I will place Sandalo among my 2 favorites from the Signatures line, along with Leather, its aroma is a semifougere that has nothing to envy of Tom Ford's Beau de Jour, except that both fragrances are a bit expensive.

This is a really mature masculine cologne. The citrus at the start is a little strong, but I mean it’s easy to get used to, and it overall evens out this fragrance. As soon as it settles down you get a really nice cardamom with that lavender that just evens it out once again, and then it finally settles into a really nice sandalwood that most everyone can appreciate. I don’t agree with the other users comments that this is “Only for 30+!” For an everyday option, I would agree that probably only super mature guys can wear this just as a casual one, but I think for the right occasion if you’re not a immature brat then this is perfect. Really nice winter night one once it settles down imo, but yeah pretty expensive. Anyways, this is really nice and I would give it almost a mysterious description. Sandalo is a beautiful scent. It starts off smelling soapy/powdery (in a good/pleasant sense) which stays for about an hour, gradually transitioning to heart notes which are still slightly soapy and I don't get lavender or cardamom at this stage, but some mild floral that I can't pinpoint. Base notes show up 3+ hours later with creamy sandalwood that dominates, reminiscent of Essential Parfums Orange x Santal, so I guess it's Australian sandalwood too. Sandalo is quite versatile, works well for office wear, a night out or a date, although a little subdued if you want to rock it at parties. Sandalo doesn't scream that you've arrived, it whispers. I haven't smelled the entire AdP range, but so far it looks like AdP can't make a bad fragrance if they tried. Longevity doesn't seem so good for an EDP nor is the sillage/projection strong.

If I'd only ever get to wear two fragrances in my life, I'd choose Colonia Futura and Sandalo both from AdP. Sandalo for the colder season. It's not a difficult scent: after the opening citruses, I mostly get aromatic, purple French lavender or lavandin (not the minty green English type) with soft sandalwood, ever so slightly sweet yet never saccharine, just... comfy and interesting. As much as I enjoy many oriental fragrances, I find I can't really relate to them deep down. I usually feel like I'm just role playing someone else. Maybe I'm too European by identity. Sandalo mixes the oriental with the occidental, that fresh aromatic lavender I love. The result is fabulous, mature, classy, gentlemanly; warm yet fresh at the same time - a rare combination I've searched long for in fragrances.

I've been waiting for a sandalwood fragrance that's versatile to wear in any season and ADP Sandalo fits that criteria. What a gem, anyone who doesn't think it's not the best sandalwood fragrance on the market is likely not a fan of sandalwood... I own quite a few sandalwood fragrances, such as. Tam Dao EDP, SANTAL MAJUSCULE, Monte Carlo pacifique, egoiste, bleu de channel EDP, Dunhill sandalwood. Guerlain santal Royal what a waste. I like them all but ADP has won me over. I'm still on hunt for Xerjoff Richwood, YSL 24 rue de l'universette. Let's see if they can knock ADP off the top. If anyone is thinking of getting a bottle of this masterpiece, then you can buy it at fragrance buy Canada ..100 ml bottle for $169 Canadian. It's a steal for that price....Just get it and thank me later.

Once I smelled it in the store, I was thinking about it for a week before I finally bought it. This is hands down the best sandalwood fragrance ever done. The scent profile is so smooth and enjoyable, not overwhelming at all. Very good for proffesional environment or everyday use. The only downside is the longevity - noticeable for like 2 hours and then it's intimate. Projection is medium, but that is ok because this wasn't meant to be beastmode. I've sampled a lot of Acqua di Parma fragrances and I literally like none of them, except for this one. So if you are ok with performance being average and you enjoy sandalwood, I definitely recommend this one, because the scent profile definitely deserves it for how amazing it is.

Very nice barbershop fougere fragrance. Citrusy opening, then settles into a clean, warm, creamy, woody scent. What I'm trying to say is it smells like shaving cream, basically. But a very nice, pleasant, sophisticated, high quality shaving cream. Projection is OK, maybe a couple feet for 1-2 hours; overall duration is 8-9 hours. It smells mature and it's definitely better for the colder seasons, although, because of its clean quality, you can pull it off on a warm day, as long as it's not too hot (been doing that on 25°-30°C days). Unisex too, although it leans masculine because of the shaving cream association. I really like it. It's an easy recommendation for any fougere lovers. A bit pricey, though.

Opening is bright and reminds me of ADP oud, but not as loud. The citrus in the early stages isn’t the juicy sort but reminds me of dried peel. I get a creamy cardamom in the mid but I struggle to find the lavender others find so prominent. The sandalwood pops in after the first hour and is creamy and soft and stays for the rest of the dry down. I don’t get barbershop vibes of it like others do and I don’t find it overly mature either (maybe TDH level maturity). Overall, high quality ingredients make a creamy sandalwood that sticks round for a while but won’t stink the place out. It’s the sort of sandalwood I’ve been looking for, noice.

Sandalo is one of the top cirtusy/bergamot sandalwood amber forward scent I've used. The combination makes it addictive to smell again and again. It's kinda old school and may suit more mature guys but it isn't old fashioned and is still very much modern to the extend young adults should be pretty fine with it. A lot of ladies love such a smooth soothing comfort combination scent. However I wished it's projection and Silage can be better but it's pretty strong on the skin. I'll look to wear this more often and it can easily be a signature scent for many others.

When I decided to start a large collection several years ago, the first thing I attempted to find was the perfect sandalwood fragrance for me. Fast forward several years and I'm finally satisfied. Sandalo is everything I was looking for. A decent price, high quality, unique, great performance, and a scent I just can't stop sniffing when I wear it. It's a bonus that you rarely hear about it so I have no worries that I will be wearing something that someone else is. 10/10 Masterpiece.

This is the perfect fougere for the fall time, it has a vintage fougere edge to it but not challenging at all. I find this to be perfect for cool fall days for really any occasional. It is reminiscent of drakar noir and other classic fougeres but with a deeper, creamy twist. To be fair I do find this to work really in any season but will excel in the fall. I also do not find this too mature for a younger guy to wear but you may not love at first sniff if you are not a fougere lover.

For me ADPs are a very good value as long as you buy them from discounters. The retail prices just to do justify the performance and in my collection this is the strongest performer of the brand. Personal love for me but, it does not fit the current trends and to me is not really a profile that many younger wearers will enjoy. It has the mature professional vibe that I enjoy but, far from the Rabanne, JPG popular profiles that many prefer.

Amazing is the word. My new signature fragrance for sure (male, 46 yrs old). Like many of you below already have said, this smells both like an old school barbershop kind of scent, yet modern and mature. I feel at the top of my game wearing this, it gives you confidence and peace of mind. Ordered a big bottle (180 ml) over at Amazon.de. Can't wait to have it at the front of my shelf in my new house this year :)

First impression for me is that this smells like Dueto Parfums Uber. It’s lovely! Update. Yet another ADP fragrance that lasts little over an hour and a half to 3 hours on my skin. What is it about much of this range of perfumes that is so rubbish on my skin? There’s so much better (decent quality) stuff out there for far less money! Acqua = water and performs little better Lovely bottles though 🙄

If you're into fougere barbershop fragrances, this should be near the top to check out. The petitgrain/lavender/cardamom/sandalwood really shine. It does remind me of Rive Gauche but a bit "darker" with much more projection. I've been wearing it more in the heat and I can't complain about it! When your body starts to warm up, this starts to work its magic. 10/10 for me! Cheers!

Underrated masterpiece. The best barbershop fragrance no questions asked - its unique, spicy dark with some dull sour citrus, creamy tonka bean and sandalwood hiding underneath. Longevity is average 5-6 hours on skin, much longer on clothes though, sillage is good 3 sprays is enough. If you're looking for a barbershop scent this is the one! 9/10

It is very woody, a bit lavender and dry. Smells really good after spraying. i like it very much. Very barbershop styling and surely for men. However a bit different from Sandalo Cologne Concentree which to my nose, smells more interesting, more complex and sweeter (i smell rose in there). The EDP version is quite sharp and bitter.

Well this is delightful! Smooth, clean barber shop vibes. Fresh and vibrant, but versatile enough to be worn in any situation, I feel like this could be dressed down just as easily as it could be dressed up. I will be buying a full bottle of this at some point because this is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for.

Barbershop fragrance at its best. The user who compared this to the classic Lapidus Pour Homme was spot on, this is a tuned down and much more wearable version of Lapidus. AdP is known for classy, clean and fresh fragrance and it's no different with this one. Big thumbs up for me!

This is one fragrance which I do not regret purchasing, at all. This is a complex, grand, beautiful, cultural masterpiece which immediately transports to a special zone. It pairs BEAUTIFULLY with Molecule 04. Must have for all Sandalwood lovers. 👌👌👌👍👍👍

AdP Sandalo is addictive, smooth, classic, masculine, refined, elegant. The dry down, with the mix of lavender and sandalwood is very comforting, with a "fresh out of the shower" feeling that lasts all day. Great for use year round. Big love from me.

What a beautiful scent, I dont know how this is not one of their best sellers, the dry down of this and lasting power is phenomenal, its sexy, clean and can be worn for any occasion, even after a shower it still lingers on your skin.

This smells like driving a Cabrio on an Italian beach and wearing white linen shirt with loose shorts, while your car is with Mahagoni dashboard. Warm breeze at sundown. Amazing. Expensive though.

I won't provide a review, as I've only worn this once in a department store. I will say this, however: this is pure rocket fuel. Please be sure to spray with caution.

Went into an aqua di Parma store this, almafi and the oud were the three that stood out. Such a beautiful gorgeous sandalwood scent. Can’t wait to grab a 180ML.

Bought it on mid 22, its a mix of woody and citrus fragrance, i loved it! and on thtat day i made my mom buy an ADP mirto di panarea too :)

Today, I'm reviewing the final Acqua Di Parma fragrance I have from the "Signatures of the Sun" collection: Sandalo. If you've been following my journey, you know that I have a profound appreciation for a truly great sandalwood fragrance. With a name like Sandalo, which translates to sandalwood, my expectations are soaring. After my mixed experiences with Yuzu and Quercia, the question remains: will this be the ADP fragrance that finally turns the tide for me? Let's get into it and find out. Opening: The opening is a harmonious blend of aromatic elegance, powdery woodiness, and bright citrus. The primary notes that immediately greet my senses are lavender, sandalwood, bergamot, and orange. Lavender and bergamot lead this initial symphony. The lavender ignites the fragrance with a confident flourish of powdery and slightly spicy aromatics, reminiscent of the type of classic masculinity found in timeless fragrances like Drakkar Noir. Trailing closely behind is the bergamot, imbuing the opening with its characteristic citrusy and fresh, spicy vivacity. Next, the sandalwood and orange join the chorus. The sandalwood fortifies this initial accord with a strong and profoundly powdery woodiness. This is not the bold, assertive sandalwood of a fragrance like Santal 33; rather, it is a refined, gentlemanly sandalwood, evoking the distinguished character of classic barbershop fragrances. Lastly, the orange rounds out the opening with an added burst of citrus, but with a distinctly sweet, juicy, and rindy accord that gracefully separates it from the more biting citrus of the bergamot. Lavender and sandalwood continue to hold the spotlight. The lavender remains the star of the show in the dry down with the same powdery, aromatic accord, but its spiciness has been subtly heightened. Meanwhile, the sandalwood has grown in strength, providing a more generous dose of the powdery woodiness from the opening. This distinguished duo is followed by tonka bean and amber. The tonka bean envelops the dry down in the familiar blanket of sweet warmth for which it is so well-known. Lastly, the amber lingers in the background, providing a rich yet subtle balsamic sweetness that adds a luxurious depth to the composition. Performance: The initial projection is moderate, reaching a comfortable distance of about three to four feet. Sillage mirrors this, leaving a noticeable but controlled scent trail. After approximately three to four hours, this performance remained largely unchanged. When I checked again at around the seven-to-eight-hour mark, the fragrance had transitioned into a skin scent, suggesting a total longevity of roughly six hours. When to Wear: Sandalo is a remarkably versatile fragrance, a true chameleon that can be worn all year round and for virtually any occasion. Dress it up for a formal event, wear it casually for an effortless touch of class, throw it on for a special occasion, or even make it your signature office scent. No matter the situation, you will always exude an air of timeless sophistication. Blind Buy: If you appreciate the refined character of classic, barbershop-style fragrances like Drakkar Noir or Creed's Bois Du Portugal, Sandalo is a remarkably safe blind buy for your collection. Final Verdict: Of all the Acqua Di Parma fragrances I've explored thus far, Sandalo's scent profile has, without question, captivated me the most. It is a fresh and deeply appealing barbershop-style fragrance that always feels impeccably put-together. I'll admit, I'm not the biggest aficionado of barbershop fragrances in general, but every so often, I encounter one that is truly special, and Sandalo is one of them. To me, Sandalo feels like a niche-quality version of Drakkar Noir, or perhaps a more approachable, modern cousin to Creed's Bois Du Portugal. However, the performance, regrettably, left me disappointed. It wasn't a poor performer, but even from the first spray, it never projected beyond what I would consider moderate, and its longevity maxed out at about six hours. If Acqua Di Parma were to reformulate Sandalo to have the same magnificent scent profile with a significant boost in performance, I would absolutely consider acquiring a full bottle. Unfortunately, with its current performance, I simply cannot justify the full bottle purchase. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10 Mass Appeal: High Versatility: Excellent Gender: Male Value: Overpriced

After disappointing experiences with some other AdP colognes, I didn't really know what to expect with Saldano. But after the first spray - oh my - what a delight AdP has created here. Of course, there is the high quality citrus opening expected of AdP. As the dry down progressed, there was a great touch of lavender and finally the most awesome, smooth sandalwood with just the right subtle touch of sweetness. True parfum performance. About arms length projection for almost 4 hours followed by a strong but closer scent bubble for another 3 hours. A quite noticeable skin scent remains 12 hours after application. Barbershop-like without being overwhelmingly so. Very masculine, classy, civilized and sophisticated. Not too heavy, so it would work in summer. Good anytime of day or night, anytime of the year. Am surprised that only under 400 own this. Not very popular. I agree with others below - let's keep it a secret. Available in a 6 ounce industrial size bottle for a reasonable price given the high quality. I'm picking up a big bottle of this baby for sure.

I've been thinking of replacing my bottle of Oud with another fragrance from the Signatures of the Sun line and this and Zafferano were my main options*. Sandalo opens up very green and spicy, lots of lavender, it smells the most like a twist of the original Colonia, very masculine and classic yet completely timeless. I have Papyrus and Russian Coriander from Clive Christian and Sandalo strangely smells like you mashed both together, having a dark, woody and spicy facet like Papyrus as well as a sharp greenness that borders on a vegetal smell like Russian Coriander. It must be the petitgrain in combination with the citruses but I could swear this has coriander too. Overall not bad but there's just something about this I don't like, I think I found it a touch too spicy and green but I'd need more wears, today I just test sprayed this in store. *Ambra and Quercia don't sound too interesting to me but I'll have to look for them later. I don't like Oud & Spice's opening but I've yet to try it on skin

Shaving cream aroma.. plain & simple! Rive Gauche meets MM At the barbers 💈🪒. Wayyy overpriced for the generic scent profile it’s offering, but the quality is fantastic. Nice, smooth & calm. Could use a more rugged, saw dust sandalwood. Thank the Gods there is no patchouli!! Lavender/ tonka/ amber are the main notes I get throughout. Green citrus opening lasts maybe 30sec. Then it’s fresh shave till the end, sandalwood peaks through at about the 2hr mark. Edit: 8/7/25 What a beautiful opening & mid. The scent has changed a bit, it has more body.. the dry sandalwood & cardamom is noticeable now. Like a warm breeze on a dry sunny day or a sauna 🧖♂️. FANTASTIC & very handsome smelling 😎. A modern fougere! The main notes to my nose are lavender, sandalwood, spices and citruses. It’s clean, it’s fresh and it doesn’t have the oakmoss or the earthy notes like old fashioned fougeres. It reminds me a lot of the TF Fougere d’Argent but with weaker performance. The performance is okish to bad but if you consider the price difference on the discounters you can take 2-3 times the amount of juice compared to the 50ml Tom Ford! Overall, I like it a lot, it can be someone’s signature scent but the performance is not there.

I got this fragrance as gift and I liked it as it was a masculine and woody scent. between the gift I got with the Colonia intensia but I liked this fragrance. I liked this fragrance because it smelled like a gentleman, sandalo is a fragrance that should be worn with formal clothes. this fragrance will last long it can last about 8 hours or even 9 and the projection is good. and you could be smelled from a 4-6 ft range. its actually pricy adits really masculine. even though it is. unisex.

If you're looking for creamy sandalwood, keep looking. This has an old school, vintage, super masculine vibe. Woody with boatloads of spicy cardamom on my skin. Performance is the best of any ADP I've tried. Wore this the other day for errands, went on a hike, took a shower, and it was still on my skin. If you like masculine aftershave vibe (after opening wears off) then you'll like this one . Scent 7/10 Performance 9/10

This is a more masculine scent, with strong notes of sandalwood, bergamot, and greenish flowers. It is very pleasant to wear at night, and I enjoy it both on men and women. I don't really smell a sillage, as to me it sits close to the skin, but I can smell it on me and it is nice. It lasts for 4 to 6 hours, but I believe it is a bit overpriced for what it is. It's a solid 7.5/10.

This is like an olfactory time machine into the late 1970s( yes, I was alive then).This is definitely a mature masculine fragrance. For me the soapy- citrus initial opening is the best part. I like this, but the dry down leaves a medicinal/ almost oud- like smell on my skin that I can't quite get past. I'm not sure this is going to work for me, but I'll keep trying...

While it is good, it's just a like for me. Unlike the OG Colonia and it's many flankers which (by comparison) are a huge love. Really I feel that I overpaid for this one. Longevity is good, projection is average. Just doesn't excite me like the Colonia line. Don't blind buy (like I did) :D

This opens light and bright citrus and lavender then dries down to a really nice sandalwood. It has that good quality and unique citrus of Acqua di Parma. I've tried a few of ADP and I find them to be simple and joyous, evoking an Italian summer.

Barbershop - muted, not sharp and refined with class. Masculine at its' finest and exudes confidence without being obnoxious. Very much enjoy this. Scent: 8/10 (not new but excellent) Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Value: 8/10... solid

AdP Sadalo EdP is a scent that hasn't quite decided what it wants to be. Opens in the style of the marvelous Italian colonia tradition with sparkling citruses and aromatics, then pulls a 180 and dries down to a soapy sandalwood skin scent that is quite faint but long lasting. The sandalwood is more soapy and powdery in the direction of sandalwood, rather than a true rich mysore sandalwood. This direction change from fresh cologne to sandalwood soap, while magical, feels too difficult to me. The opening is TOO sparkly fresh, the citruses too photorealistic to be drying down so soapy and powdery. While I complement Acqua di Parma on their brilliant citruses again, and the clean subtle sandalwood soap, my brain is confused as to how these fresh grapefruits and oranges suddenly became inedible. I feel like there is something missing in the transition.

Opens up lavender-citrus forward, supported by woody scent, but it's overall interpreted as a citrusy, woody smell, or a clean, aldehydic woody smell [depending on how you look at it]. I actually thought I had purchased the Leather fragrance from this house [so this really was a mistake purchase], but this wasn't actually terrible--it's actually quite pleasant, but it's not really something I'd personally want to wear (even though this reminds me of Moroccan Leather by Memo Paris] --it's reminiscent of orange Pledge more than anything, a basic citrus fragrance backed by woods. If you want to smell like this, this is the deal here. Somewhat below average performance for an EDP.

Very decent sandalwood scent. I absolutely recommend trying it (and certainly try it before you buy). Slightly in the Egoïste territory, but all in all it feels like a subdued version of Trumper’s Sandalwood cologne. If it was not so expensive, I would rate it a notch higher, but for someone my age it is a bit generic — although male sandalwood barbershop scents are far less common than they used to be. If you like it and want to purchase, it is worth a few extra minutes to look for discounts. As always, the regular asking price of AdP’s perfume line is high.
