To be cautious, the first time I wore it I sprayed it from 6–8 inches away from my forearm right after showering. I was immediately struck by its intensity and waited 10 minutes before leaning in to catch my first whiff. It was quite spicy initially and hot to my nose (a phrase I use to emphasize alcohol among the top notes). An hour later, I checked it again and was pleasantly surprised that the sweeter notes had begun to shine through. It's mature, yet modern, and I feel the only season it doesn't really fit into is summer, because it is a bit warmer on first application. BUT here's the catch, the dry down is pretty sweet/fruity, so it could work for summer... The first application is interesting, but after a few wears I realized that this is a YES from me! The longevity is strong and reasonably decreases throughout the day. I get notes of amber/leather/floral right away, and then after a bit, it evolves to a citrus/sweet for me. The projection complements its longevity: stronger at first -> still solid but softer throughout the day. It lingers for me well into the 8-12th hour mark. I'm slightly torn on specific events to wear this for, but its the type of scent that I don't think you need to overthink it too hard. I wouldn't wear it to the gym or anything where I'd be in close quarters to someone... So specifically an airplane. Dinner, a date, the office, a work event, or a birthday/wedding party... all of these would be appropriate. This is a gender-neutral fragrance, in my honest opinion; however, I'm pretty liberal with that term. I could see how it may lean more feminine. This perfume took me back a little bit, I did not expect such a big scent profile. You can smell the Amber notes, mixing in with the vanilla and citrus. On the back end the Ginger comes in. Black women in her 20s and at first this came off as strong but it reminds me of the Chanel # series, 20 or 25? It smells so good once it settles. My mom really likes it .
