Ah, what a beauty ! I debated getting a full bottle for a while, as this is indeed similar to BDK’s Gris Charnel which I already had. If you have tried GC before and liked it, you’ll likely love Clifton. The one note “missing” from Gris Charnel is the tea. Comparing the two, there’s less spice and more fruit in Clifton, the overall feel is smoother and richer and the performance is way better. It feels like both these perfumes had the same goal but the execution in Clifton is flawless. Sweet Fig, lightly spiced, evolving into a creamy woody scent. Sublime.

Calming, Creamy Fig This definitely has Gris Charnel similarities. GC unfortunately doesn’t work for me, but this one on the other hand works beautifully. This has an added peach and sweet orange blossom. They also used Orris instead of Iris, which creates a delicious buttery, creamy, rich fig. Grounded with a golden, woody, sweet, vanilla amber in the dry down. It also performs better on me than GC. It’s beautiful all year round!

Love love, stunning summer fragrance that can be worn, most of the year. Really unique because as much as it’s fresh it still warm, comforting and silage is amazing. The sandalwood and orris make this special, then you get the fig and peach perfectly balanced, very elegant

Just another person here making the Gris Charnel comparisons! Both are beautifully composed and develop gorgeously over time... but where Gris Charnel literally feels a bit grey and depressing (in a good way omg, don't come for me!) with a cool quality to it like it's been trapped within thick stone walls, Clifton feels like its warmer, more adventurous younger sibling who explores through forests and fruit orchards, and stands on top of cliffs getting battered by sea-salted winds. Just like Gris Charnel, the cardamom is super prominent in this one so if that's not your bag, maybe swerve it. You can pick out the cedar and sandalwood individually, and the creamy-lactonic orris and fig lend it definite sweetness and a dreamy, buttery texture. The warmth is thanks to the robust amber and vanilla that tickle through in the mid and then bloom in the dry down. While I get a vaguely rounded character from what I guess are the fruits, they're not really detectable on their own to my nose. I really wanted to like Gris Charnel because of its classy, cool, poise and beautiful balance but unfortunately it was just too chilly and austere for me. Clifton gives me the same backbone but without feeling like I need to reach for an SSRI so I'm chalking this one up to a win babyyyy

I walked into the shop specifically looking for a "dupe" for Gris Charnel just because I am tired of poor BDK's performance, their stuff just does not last! The sales associate straight away gave me this and minus the weird bottle, which is not representative of the scent, I must say I like it. It is a MUCH heavier, woodier version of Gris Charnel. Stays on clothes for a couple of days after generous spray. It is more unisex than BDK. Better in cold weather. Don't believe the beach in the photo (on the bottle).

Definitely have to look into gris charnel off the strength of this scent. Fruit, spicy scent with a pleasant dry down. Definitely surprised me. Rating 8.4/10

Agree with reviews below that this is similar to Gris Charnel by BDK. This is spring version of that scent. It’s humid and almost wet.

Opens heavy cardamom with light fruity peach and iris. Quite creamy well supported. But too heavy. Cardamom balances pretty quickly with the fruit notes. It was promising at this stage but overall the dry down was a bit too fruity vanilla and most of the interesting facets disappears at that stage.

I find it fig heavy and not summer fragrance at all. On my skin becomes smoky and animalic. I gill give it a chance but i dont feel comfortable with it

I really wanted to like this based off the fragrance notes but something about it reminds me of hair spray or hair conditioner. Also the peach note seems less bright and juicy that I would have liked. But it still the star of the show. The background cedar ,orris, fig, orange blossom get over powered . 7/10

Animalic and dirt to the core. There is nothing “sweet” about this fragrance. Peach? Orange blossom? Vanilla? Please tell me where I can find these notes. The packaging is misleading aswel- thinking it might be a bit summery and airy, but nope.

If Gris charnel was an alcoholic spicy beverage. Very similar to Crème Ebene but that one is creamy, woody and dirtier.
