Adidas Active Bodies

Absolutely fantastic! Masculine and powerful. Active Bodies is a heaven! For once, it is a truly classy fougere juice with a powerful woody-ambery kick with a spicy edge, secondly, it possesses brilliant lasting power and silage - both with more than just a reasonable price tag! (Approx £18.00 per 100ml EDT concentree version) My impression is that Active Bodies is one of the long forgotten gems, released 2 decades ago and highly underrated and unappreciated. I am convinced that had it been released to the market with a Dior or Rabanne's logo, it would have attracted far more attention. Despite being released under Adidas logo, the fragrance has hardly anything to do with being a casual juice best worn when jogging at 7am in the morning. The fragrance evokes a vivid image of a professional wearing perfectly tailored suit, self confident, positive, bright, enthusiastic, energetic, rushing to deliver a presentation in front of a chief executive panel. Active Bodies is really unique. On one hand, it is sad to see it's underestimated. On the other, I am happy that one can wear it without the feel that half a population walking passed wears the same fragrance. Notes: 9/10 Silage: 9/10 Lasting power 10/10 (skin-8-10 hours, jacket/scarves - several days!) Considering such a silly price tag versus quality, you would be silly not to try it :-)

The Astor-Mainz version of Active Bodies I never owned but I did come across 2-3 times in the 1990's and it was every bit as amazing as others have said before, maybe in some ways fueling my obsession with collecting! The newer (Coty) version isn't the same in the top or mid notes but reminiscent in the dry down. Gone are the sharper, more articulated notes, the pine and green notes up front, and perhaps a little less tonka (not quite as sweet as I recall it once being) but the aldahydes, amber, and labdumum are still there. It's also weaker in cedar and sandalwood, but I still love the dry-down and get enough of the "original" in the reformulation to keep a bottle in my collection. Nice stuff indeed!

Adidas Active Bodies... ...I used it a lot when it came out and I gifted Active Bodies to my dad as well. In my opinion and arguably the best Adidas fragrance together with the original Adidas from 1985 in the blue/clear bottle which is not in this database. I do not understand why Adidas is listed as an American brand just because the fragrances are marketed by Coty. Coty is owned by the German company JAB Holdings so it simply doesn't make sense. Interistingly Joop for example, also part of Coty, is listed as a German brand.

The Active Bodies is a fougere manly scent. Piney and fresh, blue and green, modern and classic vibe in one bottle. For my nose it is similar to Giorgio Beverly Hills- Red. But i think the AAB is overall a better frag anytime! If you like rugged and fresh classic scent and afraid to pull the trigger on this, please don't! The performance is good, but not awesome, the price is okay.

"Black Adidas"....very popular in Poland, nonetheless it's one of the best man fragrance on the market. I had a lot of perfumes from exclusive brands but really -from time to time I have to buy Active Bodies -very strong, super masculine with unique aroma...When I use Adidas I want to move, run, train....masterpiece 10/10.

Just discovered this (I got the concentrate) I think this is great. Soapy, fresh, aldehydic (heavy on the aldehydes) and earthy too - just the sort of men's perfume I love. It reminds me of Monsieur Houbigant from the 1970's (Orange and black box) I really love this a lot. It's fabulous

.....PS: Iam a bit shocked because I received a brand new bottle today which is far from the smell of the original. This rather smells like a toned done version of Goutal's Duel, very Tea-like, with the oakmoss and pine tree needles almost eliminated. What happened? Anyone knows?

What a pure pleasure this scent is! Belonging to the mass market section this is still pure gold. So warm, comforting, manly, classic yet never dated with an aroma which is so special even niche houses could learn from it. Will always be amongst my favourite fragrances!

Just found an Astor Mainz version of active bodies. Despite a different pyramid of notes I find it quite similar to Witness by the Bogart house. Quite heavy on aldehydes with a common to both ambery mossy cedar base. A superb gem indeed !!

Here, in Poland, it is still very common and you can buy it simply everywhere you want. It brings me good memories of my teenagerhood. Both longevity and sillage are very good. Warm, elegant and one of a kind :)

This is rough round the edges but I really love this. It's potent, earthy and soapy. Lasts ages. A fantastic cheapie.

Got the Coty EDT "Concentrate" version. I find it quite sweet compared to all my other Aromatic Fougeres, this is probably the one on the top of the sweet scale. It is pleasant for working out, the opening is energizing (atomizer sprays like a beast) and the drydown is sweet/balsamic. Performance is average/weak, but bear in mind I've been using it for external sport activities during the morning and this could reduce its longevity.

It's not the same scent now. Reformulation after 2000 for the worse.. The current version is produced by Coty. Try to find the product of Astor Mainz. - The one and only Active Bodies

A lovely soapy long lasting classic fougere. Definitely one of the best cheap fragrances available and the best Adidas fragrance I've owned.

Fortunately, it’s darker, with a note reminiscent of Coeur de Noir, maybe Sergio Tacchini. There’s also a similarity to something else, from a higher tier. What is it? In any case, this isn’t the sporty vibe I’m looking for and can’t seem to find—something around Polo Sport, Masculin Plurier, Himalaya, XS, Masveri. It’s the type of smarter scent that weaves its synthetics into the profile’s poetry, resulting in something sensible—like Bentley, Lomani, or something similar. It’s a kind of game of “how not to spoil it,” a game only a few win. I’d compare it to Floris Santal, maybe around La Nuit de L’Homme? Probably not Individuel... I wouldn’t be surprised if it shares something with Reflection, a darker Miyake perhaps. It’s a decent scent, though I hoped for a hidden shaving foam note. Certainly better than Tacchini and most cheap scents overall. It’s like a drugstore profile of flankers in black bottles—night, darkness, mystery, and creaminess. And amusingly, it doesn’t lose to them. Styrax must be especially appealing price-wise, I think. Actually, it might have something in common with Sung Homme, except Sung starts with separation and then blends live, while Active seems utterly linear.

The scent is strong and heavy. Very mature. Nevertheless, for my it simply stinks - especially at the begining. I haven't got any opportunity to test it before the reformulations, but according to my nose it is awful. Used one test spray and i need to resell it.

Piney, soapy, woody and cheap fragrance, it was a blind buy and I expected much more.

Active Bodies is a hard one... It's a really nice classic to own and smells good, however it does smell like an Adidas fragrance. I wore this the first time going to the barbers and it was really nice and soapy, a gorgeous aromatic fougere probably the best from Adidas. The atomiser is powerful AF and pumps a lot of golden juice out, there is definitely a lot worse than this one. I get a really soapy hit from the initial blast with the lavender and a sort of cat piss smell from the cassia. The mid is strong with pine, rose and freesia but it's not an overpowering pine because the florals tone it down nicely. In the base the oakmoss and the amber add a nice warmth to this fragrance, it's musky too. A strong fragrance I get a good 7 hours with good sillage from Active Bodies but I can't class this one as a sexy fragrance, unless you're near Eastern European Ladies who like this one (so I've heard) haha! Price 9/10 £15 Longevity 7 hours Scent 6/10

Greetings, 2016 was the year when Coty acquired Procter and Gamble brands (41 in total, including Adidas). As with most of their acquisitions - fragrances eventually were reformulated and suffered from a loss of potency. This is a standard Coty strategy - they make fragrances smell ok and even nice sometimes, but always tone them down. This happened with 90s Active Bodies, as it is likely to have suffered a reformulation before Coty acquisition. It is a cheap, yet robust fougere, which must have been deeper and more thick in the 90s. Tons of citrus, green notes and some synthetic "sounding" extra notes and here you go! Today it costs around 15 EUR and is weak in terms of potency and sillage. La Rive nailed the last pre-formulation well and their "Athletic Man" is a better option as you can buy 2 or 3 bottles for the same price. 7/10. I wish Coty would stop expanding and turning fragrances into water.

Balmy, pine resin, fresh masculine cocktail! Its freshness is not in the citrus, but in the special blend of flowers such as rose or lavender and pine, which is very well spiced !! Classic potions and indeed the movement really stimulates and activates the molecules .... The original 90's edition is now cult and difficult to obtain, but you can also get good quality imitations! It is worth buying as a collector, but fragrance can now be split ....... This fragrance has to be born before the millennium, because it is difficult to interpret it afterwards. There is a deficiency in durability, but the character of the scent compensates. It's a fair invention, but it's a bit of time ... but it's also a place in the collection.

I had paid ONLY 10 euro for a 100 ml bottle and 75ml deodorant spray!!This was a steal!Before i buy it i thought it was a cheap scent, but now i can say that i would easily repurchase that for more than 30 euro. I can't comment on the composition cause all i get, is a blend of woody notes accompanied with an undertone of sweet and fresh notes.The smell is wonderful ,lasts long and projects very well. I have tested many from the Adidas scents and some of them are really interesting but Active Bodies is more than this! Very simple ,a little bit linear with average sillage BUT above all well-blended.

Its really a Great scent for a great price. But difficult to get here in germany. It reminds me off Incens, a sweet and fresh incens with masculine spicy notes and a balmy and woody base. Its really great and for this price very long lasting. In the base you really get a fresh (fir)balmy Tonkabean with some leather nuances. And there is alway this lingering Incens note, that is maybe because of a very longlasting aldehyde, the one that also brings this uncommon freshness in all this spicy/balmy mixup. Great! Lasting-Power: 08/10 Final grade: 10 out of 10

Soapy ,piney fresh a little bit old school it’s quite classy but light and delicate ...I can see why it’s a sport scent by the feel not necessarily the smell as we just don’t associate this with sports anymore If you like classic type of scents,you’ll enjoy this ....reminds me of the clean soapy side of paco rabanne pour homme but without the richer side I also get the sweetness of allure homme sport in there too but again without the richness this is an easy buy I paid £11 for 100ml 👍👍

For some reason European women go crazy over this scent I don't find it anything special but it's nice enough to wear occasionally. It fits just about every occasion and season. Except I wouldn't wear it to a formal event. Ideal for working out and smelling great. Just go with 2 sprays max and only to chest. Nobody should care about sillage in the gym

Today in my local perfume high street - network shop I was sprayed a few times my arm and I back immediately to my teenagers age in 90's. Wow... it's stil this same great scent.Brilliant Sillage and longevity.

I had it once. It used to be very popular where I live (Poland). Probably I'm not objective but I liked it, it was fresh but spice, long lasting, at that time. I wonder if I'd like it now. hmmm...

I remember a girlfriend buying this for me, I never really liked it, but she did, and so did a lot of other women too.
