Pure Game

Was not the biggest fan of the opening (sharp citrus: doesn’t last very long though) but as it dried down to heart and then to base note, the smell blew my mind; smells way way more premium than the price you pay; clean, fresh, sweet, soft, yet masculine and sexy. The longevity is very good but the performance is just below average: good projection for first few minutes to about an hour and then almost becomes skin scent but you constantly get little whiffs of the scent here and there through out its life. *update2: Regarding the longevity, it is the longest lasting perfumes I have *on my skin (10+ hours on my dry* skin easy) and nothing lasts on my skin very long. It is weird coz no one has talked about it’s good longevity. Must be something to do with my extremely dry skin that I am getting this longevity. The only downside for me is may be the performance. It’s definitely not a heavily projecting fragrance but it’ll give you good scent bubble for at least 4-5 hours if you apply generously *6-8 sprays* and still you’re not choking anyone out. And I think that’s what makes it easy to wear for me and I find myself reaching for it way more than I think I do. A very good summer close encounter scent. I’ve gotten many good reactions from both ladies and gents. I’d pay twice/thrice the price for this fragrance. Batch: 7228

This smells better than your 100 bucks perfume. Super fresh, green, grapefruit-pepper-cypress fragrance. Because the scent is diluted, it is pleasant to wear for you and those around you.

Dude its $7 i love it smells fine just get it and use it to smell nice and fresh. Thats all its for and it works, girls would compliment you if they smelled this on you

I’ve been purchasing a lot of Adidas fragrances lately. The first fragrance I ever owned was Adidas Moves. It was a Christmas gift from parents in 2000 and I really loved it. The next year I got another Adidas cologne that I don’t remember, because I didn’t like it and never wore it. Fast forward to 2016 and I unexpectedly find myself falling in love with fragrances. I begin searching for works of art. I start favoring emotional depth and composition over simplicity. For years I’ve been acquiring masterpieces that I continue to enjoy. However, the strangest thing has happened. I’ve come to absolutely adore many cheap and “synthetic” fragrances. I’ve learned that I don’t like wearing masterpiece works of art around my house. I would much rather wear a pleasant, non distracting cheapie than say Layton. Which brings me to Adidas Pure Game... For the quality (pretty low) of the raw materials, you would be hard pressed to put together a finer or more versatile fragrance than this. This isn’t my favorite cheapie in the sub $15 market, but it is the most well composed with such cheap ingredients. After the initial synthetic harshness of the opening settles (30 sec) there is a distinct fresh, sporty vibe, but not too bright. As it dries down, the warmth from the base notes comes through and it transforms into a warmer, rather complex skin scent. In true Adidas fashion, the base notes all blend into one “base note”, but I pick up on a tonka and mild vanilla that vaguely echoes a sportier and fresher Layton. Pure game smells like the perfumer took a fall/winter fragrance and transformed it into a summer fragrance. This makes it super versatile. Work, dinner, gym, semi formal events, church, cookouts, bonfires. This wouldn’t be my first choice for larger gatherings, beach trips, or very formal events, however you could pull it off with flying colors. This is definitely date worthy. Spray it just before dinner, you’ll smell good but won’t overpower the meal. By the time you get home you’ll be sporting a pleasant and alluring skin scent. Performance and projection are poor. 10-16 sprays if you want to smell yourself. Dirt cheap and easy to find! Summary: If Pure Game was the only fragrance I was allowed to own, I would wear it 365 days a year and know confidently that I smell better in every situation than if I wore no fragrance. It’s that versatile for $10. To put it in perspective, I wouldn’t be happy wearing most of my expensive fragrances everyday. I would want a break from the intense beauty. That being said I “like” the scent profiles of my nicer fragrances more than this. Pure Game is a pure utilitarian. A near perfect execution of a cheap Adidas fragrance. This would be a great signature scent for someone who doesn’t really love fragrances. Buy the matching shower gel and deodorant and you’ll smell nice, modern and subtle.

This is a weird review; so far I've only reviewed "male" (I don't care, wear whatever you enjoy regardless of gender) fragrances that my husband has had, or things I've been able to sample personally. My BJJ coach wears this. How do I know? I spotted it sitting on his shelf one day, and since then I've made small observations whenever I work with him. It's taken months, because I'm usually so mentally preoccupied with learning that I can't be bothered to notice fragrance details, but I think I understand it enough now. This is mostly citrusy, but it does have a lot of greenness underlying it the composition. Grapefruit is more of a masculine citrus note to my nose...always has been (whereas some oranges are sweeter and slightly femme, lemon is neutral...it varies) insofar as it has that slightly bitter/astringent kick to it. This does, and it feels a little bracing (in a good way). Grapefruit truly is the largest note here. The green notes are difficult to dissect, it's not as if you can clearly smell basil or cypress. In here, everything is blended into an herbal/aromatic musk, and I think there's ambroxan too, although it's not listed. It's pleasant, platonic and inoffensive. It's classically masculine (I don't think many women would care to rock this), and it stays really intimate in it's sillage. My coach never leaves a scent trail. I think it really is ideal for something like BJJ, but it's not just a "burner" fragrance, you could wear it whenever. It's one you'd probably need to pack with you, because I can kind of tell when he hasn't resprayed in a while, and it does become *really* faint.

This is SO nice! I got it for my dad a few years ago (2020 I think) and yesterday I sprayed it for him before he took a nap and I was shocked at how strong it was. Mind you, I did spray heavily because I thought that must be very light and will disappear in 15 minutes but NO. First of all, it projected far and my sister smelled it outside the room a few meters away at the other end of the house. Then it kept projecting for a couple of hours in his bedroom where he was sleeping. For the longevity, I can only tell you that some 9-10 hours later I could still smell it on him. I kept thinking about how men's perfume seem to perform really well compared to women's perfume even though this is a low-cost eau de toilette! The fragrance itself is a fresh, versatile warm weather scent. It starts with a burst of citruses that's invigorating and a tiny bit sweet, then it slowly becomes greenish/herbaly, and finally it's a woody crisp scent that is a bit bitter and masculine. It's not a complex perfume but it's not terribly linear or flat either and I think it's a great easy-reach for spring and summer.

Nice citrus-based fragrance. I have to disagree that it smells like BDC. I currently have BDC. This is quite thin in terms of scent. But it doesn't matter since it is that good. Not the most original scent since I feel that I've smelled this before because it shares the same base with other Adidas EDT. Good for office, casual stroll and after workouts. I paid $7 for a 100ml. Not bad. UPDATE 01/19/2016: I'm not the type of guy that wears fragrance during workouts but since Pure Game is marketed as a sports fragrance, this was the perfect opportunity to test its longevity. Gym time lasted for almost two hours and sure enough Pure Game was still there up until I got home. Now I remember, the top notes smell a lot like Team Force but a little more citrusy while the drydown smells like Victory League. I've owned both so I know. Still, not bad especially if you find a great deal online.

This is simply my go to gym scent. It is a fresh and slightly spicy inoffensive scent. I cannot really discern any stand out notes nor do I really care. All I know is that I can grab this and use it on the way to the gym. It has horrible longevity and sillage, it is not versatile, and smell is only ok but I still use it a lot! The scent warms up when I'm working out and leaves me smelling good while working out. The longevity/sillage problems do not matter however because I am only ever in the gym for an hour and a half max. The bad sillage actually is welcomed so the scent does not get cloying while in the gym. Note: I got this for about $5 at TJ Maxx so no regrets. Longevity: 3/10 Sillage: 3/10 Versatility: 3/10 Scent: 6/10 Overall: 4/10

This has to be the best of the current ADIDAS line. Pure Game has some similarities with major designer brands. It's modern, sexy and versatile, going for that familiar spicy/woody aromatic combo. I don't see this as just a gym scent; this can be worn in the office or nights out. Of course, this has low performance and you're not going to blow people away with it. Sometimes it's better to have just a soft scent bubble around you for only an hour or two. This one is just enough that people near you will get a clean whiff and think "he smells nice". That's everything you need in a $5~$10 bottle of fragrance.

Two simple words for 'Adidas Pure Game' is "SchoolDay Nostalgia". For me this reminds me of my friend who was among those who used to spray after our volleyball practice and we had no clue what it was. He had a cute girl flirting with him. Notes felt:- Mintish, Fresh, Greenish slight woody. As for performance:- Sillage:-One arm length(for initial 2 3 sprays, decreases with time) Longevity:-3-4 hours(easily) For the price it's a good sports perfume.

If you blind tested it, you'd think it was pricey. No horrid alcohol hit and a lovely balance of notes..not a usual 'sports' frag. It's a true shame it doesn't last. However....It's great because it is so short lived....literally lasts an hour or so. Perfect for after shower whilst your mooching about and deciding on what nose blast to wear that day/evening. My wife loves it but I can't bear to tell her that its £2 Adidas EDT.

I’d recommend to anyone because it’s only 8$ and it smells good . It’s a can’t go wrong type of scent, it’s a very highschool type of scent but who cares, it’s a fresh fruity scent with a hint of lavender. You could say it’s kinda synthetic but that’s to be expected with any cheap cologne. A great cologne to KEEP IN THE CAR. An emergency type of cologne.

As in previous comment - good after shower. Citrus fresh, but pretty synthetic. After the opening the scent is woody and sweet but generic. Nice though. When you don't want to spend some expensive stuff after working out in the gym, Adidas Pure Game is a good solution. As a matter of fact it lasts several hours, but close to the skin.

Great smell , great value ,use it a lot from April to September . Somehow I still can smell it the day after , but longevity is well extended by also using the shower Gel and Deodorant . And , nothing to do with the previously mentioned Boss Bottled , that ́s an affair for Adidas Victory League .

Perfect to wear when playing sports. It’s close silliage won’t annoy teammates and cheap price means you aren’t wasting much money when you inevitably shower straight after the game. Can’t see any other use for this fragrance, but for its use-case 5/5

Impressive for the price. Drydown reminds me 80s,90s fresh fragrances. It's light, easy to wear, yet deep and even smoky (well done incense note). Modern and classy. Lacks longevity on my skin, so 10/10 for this price 6/10 overall.

Weak as hell. Performance fades almost immediately, only sits on the skin, same with most other Adidas fragrances I've tested. Expensive deodorant/body mist in a spray bottle if you ask me. But smells fresh nonetheless.

very nice fragrance .. i like the smell but the thing i hate about it is the longevity .. it doesn't remain for 2 hours .. i think Adidas need to rethink about that .. but eventually it is better than i expected

Very nice scent unfortunately it does not last AT ALL on me so I won't be buying again. It also doesn't have any sillage on me when I spray it only stays for a few minutes. Luckily it is really cheap.

It has a pretty good smell. One of the ones I wear to work. And the fact that it doesn't last that long is okay too since I don't want anyone to complain about it's smell when I'm on duty anyways.

I use the After shave of this scent sometimes and it is alright for me for the weekdays. I wont recommend it for a special occasion, but It has a relatively good value for the price.

The smell like the rainy season in the equatorial climate. Clean fragrance but weak longevity. I still use it for daily usage. have to spray few times per day.

I love this, very fresh and citrusy , i recommend everyone who wants a cheap , afordable cologne to get this fragrance , i got it for only 5 $

Man, right now I’m actually wearing Adidas Pure Game. Super cheap and only lasts about 3-4 hours but so good for the price.

The scent profile is good, fresh,airy but the performance is not great tbh! Still considering the price it’s not worse. I wasn’t getting any performance from my one then I took risk and put it in the fridger, luckily for me the performance took a big turn. Overall not worse considering the price but I suggest to go for others in this price range.

I bought this because I love the aftershave, and it smells completely different. It's also weaker than the aftershave. It makes absolutely no sense that the eau de toilette is weaker than the aftershave! Scent wise, it's not bad but not what I was expecting. Performance is pure garbage. Scent - 4/10 Performance - 1/10

Pure Game by Adidas: Youthful, fresh spicy and sporty. This is a good scent for younger guys just getting started or as a dumb reach. It's not got the best performance but it gets the job done. I use it when I don't feel like wasting any other designer juice... and even though I find it meh, my wife loves it. A quick question: If anyone from the community has the privilege of owning both the $7 Adidas and the $150 Allure Homme Sport EDT, can you please confirm if these 2 are indeed similar?

This is a cheap perfume by all standards. The bottle is very slippery and leaves smudges. It has a plastic cap that is quite difficult to open. The smell isn't appalling either. The opening is very citrus-y with a little bit of a musky kick. It smells very synthetic. It does smell quite fresh when i use it after showering, but it doesn't last long. This perfume is more suitable for teenagers who like to do sports. But for mature men who want to smell fresh and mature, this one isn't it. The performance is super weak. After an hour, i can barely smell anything. The silage isn't good either. You can only smell it if you sniff it at the sprayed area. It smells just like your regular liquid soap. Not recommended. Even for teenagers. If you want something that smells like this, but more mature and has a better performance, then Marbert Man Pure is the much better choice.

Synthetic citrus on top of horrific, blaringly loud woody amber overdose. Vile, cheap garbage

I paid just over $2 for 50 ml and can't believe how good it is - it even has excellent longevity! I almost didn't buy it because the previous three Adidas scents I tried, several years ago, were disappointing in one way or another. This one actually smells reasonably natural and has some nice development. I'd certainly rather wear this than Bleu de Chanel, but I would agree with those who say that there isn't any real "wow factor," other than the price. They could have made the incense note stronger, for example. If you want a cheap incense scent that's not too challenging but is quite pleasant, try Tibetan Mountain Temple. I also feared an obnoxious lavender note but it's mild here, and I didn't even get that "laundry musk" quality that is so common in "cheapos." The balance is just right too.

I like how this smells a ton but it doesn't last at all to me. It's almost like when I spray it on and the smell hits me that's it because the whole thing just flew away and i smelled it passing by and there's no more on me. A bit of exaggeration there but not far off. it makes me think of bleu de chanel but like a 'green' + oriental version, smells fuller to. also reminds me of brut but like a 'brut sport light' or whatnot if there was one lol, it's really nice to me and also gets compliments it just doesn't have a long life at all which really sucks.

@tasnuv While I don't own this, I do own the Chanel AHS EDT and know someone that wears this Adidas quite often. I don't think they smell alike at all. Perhaps they're in the same area of fragrance, which is the fresh/spicy/woody genre that could be worn pretty much year round. While this is an insane value @ $8, it smells a little dated and quite a bit lower in quality than the Chanel. Not surprising considering the price difference. I'd recommend this to anyone that wanted a single affordable bottle that can worn for any occasion.

UNBELIEVABLE for the price! Very nice, fresh and simple fragrance. Sure, the longevity might not be phenomenal (just average or a little less) but for something that most people will use as a gym scent, it's not a huge problem. I wore this today and was at a Cafe Rio and when I go up to the register the woman there says, "Oh my gosh, is that you who smells so good?". It's an extremely cheap and pleasant fragrance that is inoffensive and can garner compliments. Super happy with my purchase.

Bought it for only $7 US. It's sillage is weak, also it's longevity. Can't complain too much because of it's price. It does smell very freshy, orange & lemon scent. Would recommend it for gym because it is really cheap and gets the job done.

This could be close to but very cheaper Chanell Allure Homme Sport or maby even Playboy Hollywood, i got it for 9 euros in "BIPA". Very citrusy if someone likes it?? They should have work on sillage more!!!

I have a lot of expensive perfume but I use adidas perfume for gym... It's a good gym fragrance, it last around 4 hrs I think. Needed something for gym, I rather use this than use other expensive one

Initially was not very impressed with the opening, but after 20-30 minutes when the top layer evaporated off I was honestly blown away by the heart notes! Very masculine and sexy, great bargain.

I bought this as a novelty to match the shower gel haha. It’s pretty good :) expect what it is, and not anything else and you’ll be happy.

Initial spray = bleu de chanel, 5 minutes later = allure homme sport eau extreme with that heavy tonka bean. That's all i got from it.

Very nice, a sweet/fresh scent for after shower use. This one is my favorite after the Lacoste Essentials, a little sweeter.

This has something in it which reminds me of Prada l'Homme, which I find off-putting. Some sort of soapy vanilla vibe.
