Spark Up

I'm a fan of Adidas fragrances. I live in a region that is pretty warm most of the year and most Adidas fragrances compliment warm weather and are never heavy and rarely cloying. At first spray, there's a blast of perky citrus. However, the relatively quick dry down is where the magic occurs. This fragrance turns into a gently, well-balanced chorus of citrus, rose, and a touch of aromatic. I can barely detect the musk (for those who are shy of musk). If it is there - then it is harmonized with the other notes. Adidas Spark Up is a bit more complex than other Adidas fragrances and enjoyable for me. This was a successful blind buy but I would wait until the introductory price drops from 30+ dollars for 1.6oz.

I bought the six pack of 10ml travel sprays of the entire Vibe series. I have three that I love and three that are just way too masculine for me. This is my top favourite of the bunch. It is so simple, just a straight up fresh, light girly easy to wear perfume. Similar to Guess Woman, Juicy Couture LaLa Couture, dkny fresh blossom...it’s your classic “pink” fragrance (if you know, you know! ) it’s a good blind buy, for yourself or as a gift. It reminds me of a beside shampoo or body wash type scent. I loved it so much I bought the full size gift set, 100ml perfume 100ml body wash for 23 dollars CAD. Perfect deal! If you enjoy fresh fruity girly scents you should buy this!

It's a pleasant sweet citrusy smell, nothing so groundbreaking but a mood lifter. I think no one will be bothered by the smell. Good for summer or office wear. I am getting great longevity. Layering this with other spicy summer perfumes will give richer results.

This is a creamy yet vibrant, orange and pepper scent with moderate performance. Imagine a sweetish orange sorbet sprinkled with just a touch of fresh ground black pepper! This does remind me quite a lot of Hugo Boss In Motion White. Great value for money too.

Simple, I agree with the other reviewer it's like CK One/Everyone, which is one of my favorites. Just like I'm asked what one CK Everyone is, I was asked what one this was first wear.

The PR marketing from Coty's website: "FOR A POWER UP MOMENT, Energy Drive and Spark Up encourage you to keep pragmatic and down to earth. Always on the move and never standing still, consumers are treated to an unstoppable burst of energy. Consumers will be delighted by Energy Drive and its cardamom & spicy pink pepper twist. Spark Up meanwhile offers an explosive duo of sweet orange & black pepper to invigorate and enchant, whilst encouraging you to perform at your best in whatever you’re doing. Energy Drive and Full Recharge are more masculine, whilst Happy Feels and Spark Up are more feminine." So our site Fragrantica claims "pink pepper" and the manufacturer says "black pepper". I reviewed Full Recharge yesterday and totally bought into the Coty PR describing Full Recharge's impact. Successful. Not convinced Spark Up is an "oriental", either. I smell orange-mango sorbet, or maybe an orange-mango liqueur with some aromatics. It immediately called to my mind Baldessarini Nautic Spirit even if they aren't the same blend at all. I'll hold off on whether Spark Up meets it brief. If it's going to be a dynamic "oriental" I believe it is missing a suitable base, all the same. Amber, benzoin or vanilla. It's primarily and piquantly fruity. I've applied Spark Up 12 hours after this morning's Shalimar cologne so I'll have to wait for a clean wearing to review this. Just as an aside, the spray has reanimated Shalimar on one arm and the two fragrances blended are heavenly. I bet Shalimar is doing the heavy lifting for that effect. I found the missing base by the happy accident of spraying Spark Up over a lingering Shalimar. Thus grounding ("down to earth") and also dynamic. This morning after I applied the Shalimar Cologne, I felt it needed zhuzhing up so I topped it with Jean Marie Farina Extra Vieille - which is long gone hours later. Perhaps that's the kind of value Spark Up might have. "Sparking up" a deep oriental. It does smell "positive". The good news - I bought this in a "box set" with a small bottle of shampoo, and a 100ml bottle of Spark Up, for 14 USD on sale on Notino this week, so prices can come down where you are if you wait and watch. Sidebar: the shampoo smells like fruit punch - not a success.

Just a first impression on a brief test (can still smell it on my hand some seven hours later). A nice fruity-fresh fragrance which reminds me of something in the CK One/CK Everyone line. I see that this (like CK) is made by Coty so that would figure 😉 A surprisingly pleasing fragrance (I hadn't expected much) which for me would be a nice option for spring/summer, I hope to try it again and the two others in the line that were in the same store here in France. Update 22/12/2024 : I tried this again, I think it smells great, has a slight fruity-berry scent early on. To my nose it definitely leans more feminine but I really do like it 😅

It smells like The Body Shop Spring Orchid edt (unfortunately not in the Fragrantica database)Very similar not identical. It was TBS Special Edition 2006. I smell geranium and something aquatic type notes. Citrus notes are soft and on background. Pepper is missing.

Of all this recent Adidas line, this is my favourite! The soap-like drydown is the best. The box label said Sweet Orange and Black Pepper though, not Red Pepper.

Oranges and lemons. Quite naturalistic, given the low price point. Can't go wrong.

Very young and bright. The opening really reminds me of a hairspray I used to use so it feels kinda nostalgic. It dries down to a bright peppery orange. It is sweet but very nonoffensive. A very happy smelling scent. Does not last though.

Honestly, what I got was mostly a floral scent 🌸🌿. It’s not bad at all—nothing special, but not terrible either 👍.

#1411 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Well this is an improvement over "Get Comfy", the first of the Adidas "Vibes" I tried out yesterday, but that's not saying much. You can at least detect this scent. That's the good news. The bad news is this is a scent that's got no mids and no bottom. A scent that 's all citrus and lighter florals, no matter what concentration, will never last through the morning, let along through the day. No sillage to speak of. So basically this is like a Nautica or Chrome. Spring wear only. Summer heat will annihilate this in minutes. You'll get a couple of hours if you bathe in it and spray your clothing and you'll need to respray frequently. It's got a nice citrus opening, but it's a skin scent in five minutes, mostly nothing but pepper and a hint of florals in a half hour, even if you really lay it on. You can spray your clothing without any concern for staining. Not enough oils in this to stain. My verdict: It's cheap, but still a waste of your money for anything other than aromatherapy.

Hair & Body Mist review: Spark up is a modern take on the "shower-fresh floral-shampoo" scents that dominated women's fragrances in the mid to late 90s. It's a scent that reminds me of freshly shampooed and washed hair. These shampoo scents remind me of my mom, aunts, and female cousins. I vividly remember how carefully and meticulously they would wrap their hair with a towel after a shower. They would leave that towel on while they put on lotion, clothes, and makeup. As they plugged in their hairdryers, they would finally remove the towel and this amazing, relaxing, and ethereal scent would waft from their head. Their hair always smelled so relaxing after showers. Oh, those memories are so vivid! Their vanity station, the make-up tote, curling irons, hairdryers, the radio playing in the background... ah, such a wonderful memory! Wow, I really got off topic recalling wonderful childhood memories! LOL! Anyway, as for a real review of the scent... This bodymist starts off super fresh and very sweet, almost candy like. Within a minute or two it dries to a very discreet musk. It's a fresh, shower-esque musk that seems familiar. It is a tad soapy, but not that soapy. The fragrance just wants to reassure you that it's "fresh & clean." There isn't much going on in this Spark Up body mist, it's a decent one to spray with abandon and freshen up. Anyway, I have this in my gym bag to spray on myself after a great workout. Spark Up bodymist complements the post-workout flood of endorphins (high). I got bodymist+showergel combo of Spark Up and Get Comfy from a Christmas clearance sale at WalMart for $5 each. Not a bad deal!

I quite like this scent, a rather sweet orange. However, during the Adidas event, I was told that it was orange and black pepper, which I didn't quite catch any black pepper scent. Pink pepper makes more sense to me.
