Agua Fresca Lima Tonka

I have a fondness for this little Spanish house based on Agua Fresca and Fresca Vetiver. They don’t produce groundbreaking fragrances but everything I’ve tried from them is done very well and has something interesting to offer compared to similar fragrances. I’ve been very interested in their several recent men’s releases but they are not easy to find. I blind bought this one for a good price. Disclaimer: I usually do not like bleu aquatics, but I was curious how Ramon Monegal would tread this well-travelled path. It opens with a fresh, somewhat candied lime note that is quite nice. The warm tonka comes in close behind and stays for the duration as fixative. In this way it reminds me of Guerlain Ideal Sport, where the sweet base supports the fresh/aquatic/woody top notes. But Lima Tonka remains an aquatic, with a nice marine accord giving it a sporty, outdoors feeling. It is, at heart, a sport fragrance if ever there was one. It is youthful but not adolescent and can work for anyone who enjoys the fresh/marine genre. I usually am not one of these, but like the other perfumes from this house, this one has just enough unique quality to induce me to like it. If you can find for under $75 (120ml- not bad!) it’s a nice option for warm weather!

First of all, I bought this out of being a genuine idiot. I was in Lima, Peru and my spanish was so bad I thought this fragrance was a Peruvian specialty. Turns out that means lime and I didn’t find out till I was back in the states. No regrets though as this scent has become a great reach in my collection For around 175-200 Soles (50ish usd) i got this from a department store, and turns out I dig it Smells like Virgin Island Water without coconut, I had a LBLP Dupe which has been completely phased out by this, PRESSURIZED Atomizer and smells like quality. If your not in America, please buy. It’s great.

I love this for my boyfriend and he loves it too It’s not a bitter fragrance at all, It’s easy to wear, it’s versatile and fresh We got a decant after testing several male fragrances at the store and we chose this one, Totally worth it

In the vein of Virgin Island Water and Malibu Party in the bay, only more focused on the creaminess and without the booze. Has a lovely smooth lemon meringue pie vibe going through without becoming too sweet. Very good !

Creed Virgin Island Water, without the dominating coconut.

I love this on my skin and on my clothes. It's the fragrance I've been looking for. The top notes are a breath of fresh air (they do disappear within a minute), then the tonka beans show up with their characteristic touch of sweetness and creaminess, and after a while I'm left with the perfect sandalwood smell. This is not by any means a strong perfume, but I don't like overpowering scents, so it's quite perfect for my personal taste. It lasts about 6~7 hours on my skin and I can smell it on my clothes for days. The only thing I could complain about is the fact that it should be marketed as an unisex fragrance! I almost missed it bc the sales person kept telling me it was for men and I just wanted to know how it smelled on my skin :))

It's a very easy to wear warm weather fragrance. Inoffensive good office fragrance but you can pretty much wear this to anything. Maybe not an evening date night fragrance but everything else is fine . It has a tangy sugary lime that starts to smooth out into a somewhat creamy vanilla after a couple minutes. It then starts mellowing into the woods and a touch of white musk. It hasn't occured to me over the past few years that this does smell like VIW without the coconut . It does smell like a lime vanilla drink. The Soleil comparisons could not be more wrong in my opinion . It's solid stuff. It was a random purchase for me while I was in Spain and I did enjoy this for the time I had it. 7/10

Good to see this has finally been added onto the site, although I first bought this in Gibraltar in 2021, so the release date of 2023 can’t be correct. Have to disagree with @Sergio below as I think this is a lovely warm weather freshie which lasts a long time although moderate sillage. Prices seem to have reduced since I first purchased, which makes it very good value.

It's a very easy fragrance to wear on spring and summer days. The most prominent notes to my nose are lime and tonka bean with a hint of marine notes. It's a casual fragrance that lasts for about 5 hours. For the price, I'd say you get a great scent.

Nice dumb reach for the summer. If you like citrusy vanilla (like I do, like crazy), this is a good value for money scent that you won't be afraid to use for daily errands. Don't expect anything over the top tho. It just works.

For me, the better one from their line of Aguas Frescas so far, sweet but not too overwhelming and creamy. Lasts for about 3 to 4 hours and projects well for at least an hour. Might get cloying if you spray too much, a bit car air freshener-y like and some of the clashing oils end up giving hints of Play-Doh on the dry down for me sometimes. However this is a positive review, I still enjoy and it and would recommend it, for the price it really is a nice scent.

Don ́t buy this fragrance. Even knowing it's an economic sintetic fragrance, I totally regreat the purchase. The opening is a generic acid citric, that vanish inmediatly leading to a laundry detergent smell, a cheap one. If someone like to smell like this, I recommend buy a soap bar instead. By the way, there's no wood notes at all. The packaging, bottles & caps of the collection are really good, but the fragrance is dreadfull. Don't waste money on this.

Fresh and summery lemon scent but it sadly gave me a skin allergy.

Compared to other citruses, lime has the advantage of a spicy-warm facet: this is where tonka should enter the stage. But it doesn't for me, or at least not substantially. It's there if you look for it but remains dominated by a generic sporty-aquatic vibe usually reserved for deodorants. I usually praise the Agua Fresca line but Lima Tonka reminds me too much of the men's section in a department store after several people have passed by and sprayed random freshies just for the sake of it.
