Iris Vainilla

Edited 07/10/2025: I owe Adolfo Dominguez an apology for my review below. Perhaps I should have let the fragrance rest after receiving it in the mail before testing it. Revisiting Iris Vanilla several months later, after it has sat in the back of a cabinet, allowed the top notes to develop well enough that they linger throughout the entirety of wear. This has blossomed into candied Iris perfection. Iris Vanilla has become a certified love! Iris Vanilla has the most addictive opening. It’s sweet, candied Iris perfection. Unfortunately, the opening fades within seconds and a heavier element, perhaps musk, takes over and that beautiful fleeting opening is gone. It develops into a musky Iris scent with a sweet vanilla base. I like it, but Iris Vanilla leaves me disappointed. As I smell my wrist, I wish it were better blended, or that a better quality vanilla were used, I actually can’t pinpoint the disappointment. But it’s definitely a like, not a love. I’ll revisit Iris Vanilla in a few months. Perhaps time and maceration will improve the scent.

Tbh, I bought it blindly really, because the price was so good and it was on discount so it was a complete bargain. BUT. does it smell good? It DOES. I've been wearing it continuously for a full month and i cannot tell you the amount of people that have complemented how good I smell while wearing this one. Even more than cloud, which has always been the one perfume everyone seems to compliment me on. Well, for the price, I would say you give it a try at least if this is the type of notes you enjoy. You may find a really good perfume. One thing that is not really that good... Doesn't seem to have a lot of lasting power on me. And the bottle is really pretty so I don't ever take it with me. Such a pity the scent doesn't last for as long as I'd wish EDIT: I just realized that it turns out you can unscrew the top of the bottle, so the lasting issue is solved. I just fill in a little perfume tube to re-spray if needed. This discovery has made it a favourite now. I love it so so much.

This perfume is so good and it blows all of my other fragrances out of the water. I LOVE this perfume. It is quite strong. I usually overspray because I’m extra, but this perfume has amazing silage and projection. You’ll be able to smell this throughout the whole day. This perfume is so dang beautiful. I love the way it smells. It smells like juicy berries and vanilla. Something about it smells deep. It smells sensuous, strong, and makes the perfume have a strong presence. I don’t know what it is about it... but something smells strong. I say that in a good way. It smells expensive and luxurious. I feel like there are layers to this fragrance. It smells girly and feminine, and also somewhat mature. This is a grown up gourmand scent. It smells like you want to bury your head into this fragrance. I can’t stop smelling myself. I smell marshmallows and vanilla, juicy fragrant berries, and fragrant florals. Something about this reminds me of Love Don’t Be Shy.

Discovered it during my vacation in Barcelona. Then I ordered it online from my country. Beautiful, amazing, you feel iris, vanilla, a bit of powder, sweetness, it lasts moderate. The dry down is amazing! I recommend, price point also a plus, I purchased it (120 ml) for 44 EUR with a lotion as a combo. When I opened the box, I could smell the scent immediately, it is strong.

Addictive, sweet and musky with that leftover makeup thing that i personally do enjoy. I can see myself wearing this all year long! It's so cozy and inviting. I haven't sprayed it on my neck so I can't say anything certain about the sillage, but I hope it's as radiating as I've read in other reviews!

Sweet and warm, a simple but delicious fragrance. The black currant is not as noticeable as the vanilla, but I think helps to make the overall aroma not as invasive as it would be without it. This new line of AR perfumes is really nice and I’m considering buying a couple more.

Blind bought it because I love iris and I love vanilla. So those combined simply must smell divine. But also for the price. 35 euro for 120 ml? The accords says it's earthy, and oh boy. It is VERY earthy. Upon first spray I got a strong raspberry blast that I din't enjoy at all. Raspberries and litchi tend to be very tart and those are some of my least favourite things. Once the berry disappears it smells incredibly earthy, they sure didn't lie about the accords. This is also the only perfume i've ever experienced smells completely differently depending on how much you spray. I went for four sprays which I usually do and it immediately smelled strong, messy. Very "perfumey". I wasn't happy with it at all. Next day I only sprayed once, and believe me - it was a completely different scent. Suddenly it wasn't too earthy, and the slightly powdery iris and vanilla shined through beautifully. I was baffled. If you buy it, seriously spray just once or twice. It's strong and has a great longevity, so it's really worth the price. The matte, lilac bottle is just a bonus.

I don't know why no one has reviewed this yet. It is nice, it is what the notes indicate: powdery, a little vanilla, violet and earthy. I smelled this in store but didn't pick it up because it doesn't really fit my personality. I can appreciate the good smell tho. It is for those who want something calming with a hint of sweetness. It is a nice mixture, maybe a little too powdery for my liking but I still stand for it. I recommend it to those who want something elegant and youthful (not juvenile) EDIT: I am still smelling my hand and I am considering buying it, the drying is deliciously wonderful

Lovely! Sometimes I combine it with Blu Indaco by Giardini di Toscana to add an almond note. Or the other way around—to add iris to the almondy gorgeousness of Blu Indaco. I also love taking the bottle with me; the frosted glass and wooden cap not only look beautiful but feel wonderfully pleasant to the touch.

I just got this and i'm still processing what i feel about it. Initially the violet is very strong and almost headache inducing, but when it dries down it smells more vanilla-y and good. Still i'm not mesmerized by it, so i dont know if im going to keep it or not.... The bottle is so pretty and very affordable tho.

I like the violet and iris, at the beginning, but not the artificial musky vanilla coming soon after them, it’s not natural enough for me. Some Avon or Zara cheap vanillas make me uncomfortable exactly in the same way. Pass.

The raspberry currant is very samey sweet to the fruity sugarbombs of the current era, with the other notes lurking behind to give it a bit of dimension. Jasmine is fairly lush, with a real-petal feel, and lacks the indole I dislike. The musk is woody with a hint of spiky, which I don’t love. This sort of vanilla-fruit-floral combo always reminds me of upscale hand lotion. I really don’t get iris. The vanilla is so blended and muddled with the other notes that it can’t honestly be called a vanilla scent. Pretty but unremarkable. It's an easy wear though, and the bottle is so pretty.
