Unica

Unica is very uniqe..well balanced fragrance, all notes are blended to perfection with Cedar notes that are detectable but not dominant. Soft, settle but not soapy, it has a bit of sharpness but nothing overwhelming. This is a great Cedar scent for holiday evenings or summer evening out.

Like a million other perfumes out there..

I bought Unica in Spain during one of my holidays there and somehow did manage to use more than half of the bottle already, which is impressive in regards to the size of my perfume wardrobe. The main reason is probably that Unica is so incredibly wearable and performs really well, especially in warm weather. I really love the Spanish style in perfume taste, all of the creations I have tried or owned from this brand proved to be of quality and reasonable performance. With enough silage and presence to be noticed yet not devoid of subtlety to be worn on any possible occasion. I have also had the luck to be acquainted with R. Monegal's creations for his own brand and I do like his unmistakable style. Unica is such a no brainer, because it is not just fresh and airy, somewhat even reminiscent of a shampoo yet the way it is grounded beautifully by the woody cedar base makes it different for me from many of the similar genre. I must say though that I do get anosmic to it at times, but I am prone to it if I'm not careful, but I just set it aside for a while and can enjoy it again. It performs really well and has even been noticed and complimented on me with something like 1 or 2 sprays and hours after application. Also I must add that the bottle is absolutely gorgeous and really pleasant to hold and to use.

This perfume is not quite what I would describe as fresh - it is more of a warm spicy floral. To me it is a spicy/peppery rose (although the notes list peony instead of rose). On my skin it is quite intense and has a good sillage, the longevity is also moderate to good.
