Adolfo Classic For Men

Ok people I'm here to tell you do NOT miss a chance to smell this one I just picked it up at a local frag shop here NW of Toronto for $18.99 for 100ml. The compliments are already coming only had it on 2 hours and that's 2 sprays on one hand! The scent starts of with a citrus blast with Bergamot and Lemon and Artemisia for about 5 mins and starts to blossom quickly.It is well blended and nearly straight away the ginger and pink pepper give it just enough spice to liven up the Juniper,slight Rose and Thyme.This is a fresh warm scent for men.Very intriguing I can't stop smelling myself. It shines in the mids with light Patchouli and Jasmine and later as the sensual Musk and Cedar comes in for the dry down.This is a smooth cedar not overbearing like some scents. I will be eager to check out the entire range by Adolpho now! Not sure how long it will last as far as longevity BUT this is one beautiful distinguished yet modern scent. Pretty decent sillage of about an arms length so far. I was truly surprised, it is one of the best cheapies I have ever come across and now I have about 140 bottles from fairly expensive to dirt cheap.Don't pass this up check it out. May write a follow up review next time .

Definitely a classic. This fragrance speaks elegant and classy gentleman. Recommend it for business casual wear, day time date, accompanied with mojitos.

The previous reviews are interesting. Two hate it (one saying it smells like plastic), but offer little detail, one seems to mostly recite an official "blurb" and goes in the "fresh and warm" direction (which always concerns me, as it seems to be used by people who are newbies), then lists notes that don't seem present (rose/juniper/thyme), and then we have "pure class," which suggests something traditional but also concerns me because it sounds like a newbie who is trying to avoid talking about specifics. I'm not sure why I bought it, actually, other than a low price and curiosity, as the notes don't look promising, relative to my usual preferences, but I needed to spend a little more on an order to get free shipping, so that's how I acquired it. Yes, if you smell it up close I can understand the plastic impression (also, perhaps for the first few minutes, so here's a word of advice: don't do that with really inexpensive fragrances unless you can get over it and let the scent mix with the air in the future). If I had to sum this one up, I'd say take Terre d'Hermes and remove the iso e super and geranium. Now mix that with a stripped down version of what most people call a "traditional cologne," and you are likely very close to what this smells like. To me it's quite peppery, but I think I'm sensitive to that note, and it may be a lot less peppery than something like Bang, for all I know. I also think this could be good for layering purposes, and I'd guess many women might want to include a half spray of this one to provide a bit of pepper to something, though the citrus may be too much, so keep that in mind. Overall, I imagine a lot of guys (mostly "older" ones) and some women would appreciate this, especially at the really low prices of today, though I'd guess most "younger" people would not like it at all. Not much in the way of sweetness but not bone dry - layer it with an ambery scent and perhaps get something in the same ballpark as L'Air du Desert Marocain? And if you don't like this one, run for the hills if you come across a bottle of Arabian Nights by Jacques Bogart! Now if you want a more traditional "masculine" spicy/woody at a great price, I suggest Oz of the Outback cologne. The far drydown of Oz is a bit powdery but overall it's a solid scent that seems to be at least a bit unique and reasonably natural smelling, unlike so many of the clone-ish scents being marketed now.

It's sad when very little thought or passion is put into creating a fragrance. It's so boring, linear with no balance in its composition. And though my collection of fragrances isn't huge, I know a well-composed fragrance when I smell it. This isn't it. Two sprays on my wrist and within about 10 minutes I had to wash it off my skin. I actually had to wash it off three separate times to get the entire scent off because it left me feeling sick lingering in the air. I usually blind buy because I enjoy a good surprise like on Christmas; boy was this a letdown, so much so that I threw it away - only the second time I've thrown a fragrance away in the many years of buying fragrances. There are good cheap fragrances out there like Nautica Voyage which I have and really enjoy, for instance, among a few others, but this is cheap in every sense of the word. Don't waste your time or money on this, sadly, as I did.

This product smells like lemons and aftershave, or shaving foam, at first. But then it dries down into this synthetic, strong plastic, sweet flowery smell that gives me a headache. Like an overpowering and sweet new car smell. If I smelled this fragrance my whole life I would probably have cancer now. Synthetic plastic mixed in with some godawful smelling flower. Terrible. I would pay someone else to never have to smell or spray this again. Going to try to wash the smell off of my wrists now. I feel nauseated.
