Fleur de Coton

Trying to hide from the autumn rain, I bumped into a low key drugstore and started wondering around. My eye got caught by a big, centrally placed shelf with Adopt's eaux de toilette. I had heard about this brand before but didn't know they were selling outside France so I started sampling like a kid in a candy shop. Of course, at the fifth smell down the road I was already overwhelmed and just dropped the endevour. But in my pocket a paper with Fleur de Cotton remained quietly waiting, next to a Coco Vanille. I remember that the first impression was off putting so I had dismissed this one quickly. But then back on the street sniffing over and over the little paper, Fleur de Cotton opened up as a pure confort smell. I can best describe it as a classic hand cream from my childhood - it is somehow cosy and warm, perhaps even milky. No sweetness from the vanilla, and no citrus sharpness either, despite I see it in the list of ingredients. All in all, I believe this would be excellent for a day at home, with a cup of tea, warm bath and old photo albums. My only regret is that I left that shop too quickly without getting myself a bottle.

This is surprisingly long lasting on my skin and it leaves a creamy mix of magnolia and jasmine scent as the run down. The quality is really good for the cheap price. I tend to layer it (on pulse points) under citrus scents like D&G light blue (skin and clothing).

I mostly get the anise with a hint of synthetic musk. It's sweet, fresh and tender. But clean rather than gourmand. Fabric softener vibes perhaps ? My boyfriend loves it ! It's a very intimate scent that has a great longevity potential compared to the other options the brand provides. It can last at least a couple days on fabric if not more. Very affordable price and can definitely be a signature scent. To wear all year round. Especially convincing in the winter from my perspective : snowy shojo vibes.

To me, this smells like white Nivea soap bars. It is very soapy, a bit flowery, a bit musky. It smells super clean, like the way you smell just after a shower. It also lasts long and the projection is moderate. All in all a good clean scent, especially for the price.

I can relate this one to clean duvet and bed linen in an expensive hotel. I may mainly use it during a holiday or as sleep scent.
