Musc Encense

As known Aedes de Venustas’ perfumes are little persistent, but there is something fascinating and elegant in them to be considered. This fragrance is vegetal, quite fresh and incensed: that is really interesting to me. I did 3 sprays in the morning and after 10 Hours the perfume is still here, at skin level, very pleasant, but not a lot around you. Longevity is good (long!), instead of sillage that is moderate. The price is really high if you expect excellent scent plus excellent longevity and sillage. But at the end I consider it a very good perfume: elegant, intriguing, fresh with the loveable incense touch. Recommended even if the price.....

Had I blind tested it, I would have thought about an animalic leather fragrance. That is what Elephant or Rhinoceros by Zoologist could have smelt. To my nose, it's a tamer version of Montale Aoud Cuir d'Arabie, with clean edges, made more elegant and unisex, and the volume decreased from 10 to 1. Could have been a winner, but performance is - as ususal for AdV - dramatically low, and the price point does not allow for any misses. Too bad! Colder days, 30+

Aedes Musc Encense is fresh, aromatic, herbaceous, and every so slightly woody-musky at the same time. This fragrance opens with a strong clary sage note. I love to use clary sage essential oils in the diffuser, and Musc Encense at the opening smells like the unctuous mixture left on the bottom of the diffuser after all the water wears off. Mixed with something piquant and smoky. It’s fresh, distinctive, slightly sharp and sour. After the opening wears off, the musk emerges, still flanked by aromatics but softening them slightly. After this point everything is kinda blurred and hazy until it dies down in a fluffy musky wisp.

Uh, I really disliked this one. Got a sample, sprayed on my wrist, on my skin the opening is like a nasty burning tire smell. The dry down is okish but it lasted for about 17 seconds!! which made me happy because I couldn't wait to get this of my skin!

I had 15 seconds of projection out of 7 sprays, at this point Aedes de Venustas could put mineral water in their perfume bottles that would not make any difference.
