Amber Musk Vanille

Oh wow! This is so fun! youthful / daytime ,/ nighttime / fall /winter / cozy / office safe The pink pepper really makes this stand out from the crowd for me, it gives that little tickle in your nose to add interest but almost feels like it wanted to be cinnamon spices and yet totally ISN'T. If you were looking for Parfums de Marly Safanad in a MUCH more youthful version, softer sweeter, office safe, carpool safe version then this is what you're looking for. This OPENED similar to Safanad but does differ on dry down to a light musk with soft spicy whipped vanilla cream skin scent. This is LESS dark, less mature, and less sensual than Safanad - still spicy but more gourmand and without the ylang ylang or Iris.. more cashmere cozy and youthfully soft. It is absolutely delicately beautiful and SWEET. I tried to test this out with multiple fragrances to see what else it compared to but Safanad is the closest so far. GUERLAIN Double Vanille, God no, Tonka Imperial, not really, Angelique Noir, meh leaning maybe a touch, Tobacco Honey, not really, Bois D'Armenie, I wish ;) And I can see the references to Zadig! and even Kilian's LDBS, but only to the fact that they're less bold and more of a SWEET skin scent, but that's pretty much the limit. That and the sweet orange blossom of LDBS is definitely recognizable. You can totally overspray this one and help boost the projection, or keep it light and soft. The musk and pink pepper helps keep this one from smelling like a home fragrance or candle. This is soft and you will go nose blind over time with this, so keep this to the back of your head and neck and pulse points instead of your neck. Add a bit of another perfume oil on your chest so your nose refreshes itself when you move. Totally recommend some rose, coconut, smokey or iris for fun options. The opening is sweet and slightly spicy. As it dries, it becomes less sweet and I can smell an elegant and perfumey amber and musk, I mean perfumey in a nice way. As times goes by, it becomes cosier, and I can smell a light, almost acquatic rose. It is a very strange perfume, it starts quite intense and becomes lighter and softer with time. Cleaner. I can't smell the marshmallow and don't find this is gourmand but I really like it. The dry down is soft and cosy ambery vanilla, cashmere woods and delicate fluffy musk. This is a very popular scent profile at the moment, think LVEB Vanille Nude, VS Bare Sueded Vanilla, Valentino Donna Born in Roma Ivory. Unfortunately I think performance for this is quite poor, but it is pretty and comforting and a joy to wear, so I will just need to top it up 🤎🧁🌹🛁🫧🧣

Absolutely gorgeous!! A sweet take on Amber Musk! Cant wait to get a FB! This will be such a comforting scent throughout the cooler months!! Edit: Why oh why is this beautiful scent not getting more hype? It deserves ALL the love! I have now bought a second bottle as back-up!

Just tried it on for the first time today - and it's lovely. Gives me a cozy feeling. I will edit my review when I've used it a few more times. But for now; 🥰 (a couple of days after I got the sample - I bought a full bottle)

I enjoy this scent. Though doesn't last long but it's so worth it. It smells like a warm hug.

This scent surprised me. The first time I tried it, I was out shopping, sprayed it on, and went about my day. Later, I kept getting whiffs of something vanilla and decadent, and I was immediately smitten. Since it’s never a good idea to order something after only trying it once, I went back another day and sprayed it on again. This time, though, I was immediately repulsed. All I could smell was sweetness. It was nothing like the smooth, creamy scent I remembered from before. I was genuinely confused. Had I mixed it up the first time? But a couple of hours later, it changed, and I started catching unexpected whiffs of a delicious musky amber-vanilla. That was it. I haven’t worn it enough yet to comment on longevity, but it is a light scent. It doesn’t project, though it gives off subtle peeks of itself now and again - just enough to tease. So my advice would be not to let the opening notes dissuade you from trying it. It’s worth waiting to see how it works with your skin chemistry. For me, it’s a full-bottle buy: a light, easy, spray-and-go fragrance.

This is definitely different than the OG, which I love. This flanker comes off slightly gourmandish most likely because of the marshmallow and its sweetness. And it also felt more dense maybe because of an overdose of vanilla. I am not a huge fan of gourmands, and while this is not bad, I much prefer the OG which is more perfumy to me and has an elegant feel to it as well as coziness. This limited edition doesn’t give me the same vibe. Oh and this is nothing like Tangier Vanille. The Amber Musk Vanille is playful. Tangier Vanille is not a gourmand. Update: 09/11/2025 I wore this again. And from a gourmand perspective, I understand what it is trying to deliver better. It is actually a pretty nice gourmand. Not too in your face. I think I am in between like and love now. 😉 Update: 09/14/2025. The more I wear this the more I like. Plus, my partner says this is a good one, even if he likes most perfumes I wear. I can definitely detect the OG DNA. 😘

You know when you smell something that smells like you? This is that for me. This year, my signature was the regular Amber Musk, and I smelled this a few days ago and I fell in love. Oriana and Love don't be shy are too much for me to wear, but this is just perfection. I would love to have this.

I really loved this one on skin initially but the dry down pretty quickly came off as really stale and almost suede/leathery chemical harshness. Opening notes are a really beautiful soft vanilla not too too sweet but I just can’t get past the base notes. Such a different experience towards the end. Disappointed to say the least

The orange blossom in this mixed with the other notes makes it smell like candy. I was hoping for more of a vanilla fragrance but definitely more of a candy smell. Reminds me of Pixi Stix or any other type of similar powdery-ish candy with a general sweet fruitiness thing going on. Not overly sugary sweet though.

Aw man, I wish I had checked the notes before I grabbed a decant of this one. I was expecting more of the cozy benzoin sandalwood dna of Amber Musk, sweetened by vanilla, but instead I got the almost sickeningly sweet candied, powdery orange blossom of Love Don’t Be Shy combined with the sharp lily of the valley of Amber Musk, which is my least part of the OG, and almost none of the warmth.

There is something sour about this. Musk and amber in a bad way. Just no.

When I smell this, I think “if I had a smell, this would be what I smelled like.” If that makes any sense at all! I’m not really getting the comparisons to LDBS or PDM, I think this stands on its own. Creamy, musky, ambery, vanilla. Not sickingly sweet but still decadent in its own way. Like vanilla sweet cream cold foam drizzled with resinous woody syrup and just a petal or two from a flower. I don’t even distinctively smell rose. The opening is powdery to my nose, I love it. I test it every time I pass by and my husband noticed and got it for me. He also really enjoys the scent on me. It’s not loud but it’s noticeably there. Such a beautiful little scent bubble!

Ewwwwwww. This smells so cheap. I do not like this at all. Extremely juvenile scent profile - sickly sweet and bordering on that weird burnt rubber/ gasoline synthetic note. Absolute no from me.

Opening is nice. On me the drydown is elegant and musky, though i'll admit - almost a bit old smelling.

This is pretty but I still don't forgive them for discontinuing Tangier Vanille
