Fleur de Peony

I think it’s very pretty. It’s not complex but simply lovely. Sometimes a perfume that is too complex has a note that throws me off or is offputting, ruining the entire sensory experience. This one has no note that repels me. I like it a lot. If people find this too linear, it works as a great layering option. Update: 5/19/2023. AL recommends spritzing this and its Mediterranean Honeysuckle. I tried it, and it is lovely. If you spray 2 MH and 1 Peony, the fruity sweetness becomes less prominent. Update: 06/20/2023. The more I use this, the more I like it. And I am not young, far from it, closing into senior citizenhood. I grew up wearing original EL Beautiful and Dior Poison. I like Shalimar and Dior Addict. But this peony is so pretty, feminine, and so so luscious. Definitely nothing like Juicy Couture. Aerin’s is more refined and luxe.

This is one of my new favorite scents. I'm a sucker for peonies but I find that when most peony fragrances dry down on me it becomes a very one note fragrance. When I first smelled this I immediately thought of Versace's Bright Crystal but a less fruitier, sweeter version...which I prefer. Bright Crystal, like I mentioned earlier, dries down on me to a singular clean flower note without much of a story. Fleur de Peony, however, is a powdery, fresh rollercoaster that transports me to a park picnic where I'm surrounded by peonies and jasmine while drinking a glass of lychee lemonade. I do think it's a little overpriced... $135 for 1.7 oz but it's limited edition and it's absolutely delicious smelling. I can't rave about this perfume enough.

Exquisite blind buy. Simply luscious! Nothing offensive. Well balanced, slightly fruited floral. Also, the body creme is superb. Have purchased 3 tubes of body creme prior to committing to bottle of fragrance. Currently, layering both for springtime, and very happy with this scent!!! Suitable for daytime, office or closed setting environment, and even to dinner in a restaurant. Aerin body cremes are the best!!! Wish she would reformulate Tuberose Gardenia. Really miss that one in the creme.

Fleur de Peony is one of my favorite fragrances. It's a complete peony-musky scent and it has have been the eponym for this fragrance. What I love was a more complementary peony-musk combination in which I smell some peonies with musk, sandalwood, ambroxan, and cyclamen and it last long at all. I love Fleur de Peony so much!

Pretty, likable, feminine, floral fragrance. I'm trying to find a photorealistic peony smell, and this perfume is the front runner. I can't smell the musk, which is what I was worried about. The longevity is not great, but this seems to be the theme of the Aerin perfume line.

Not the huge peony bomb we're all hoping for. I saw the announcement of Fleur de Peony here and Aerin had my attention as soon as I smelled Evening Rose right after it came out (and immediately reached for my credit card). So I thought maybe Aerin could produce a great peony fragrance. But it appears that no one has successfully synthesized a fragrance that actually smells like peonies. Fleur de Peony has none of that old time peony fragrance from real peonies like Amabilis, Candy Stripe, Sarah Bernhardt, or Black Beauty you may have smelled in your grandmother's garden when you were a child. And they can get away with it. I think not that many people anymore have actually smelled peonies ,and florists don't always stock them either. So many of us live in climates where they cannot be grown. Peonies require a climate with several hard freezes every winter, if not months of continual hard freezes. So I can't grow them. Nor can other people on the west coast or in the south. So many people live in apartments too, and peonies are definitely not a house plant. (And yes, I just thought of a room in an apartment dedicated to someone's vast peony habit/fetish, complete with huge lamps along the ceiling and a hydroponic watering system, suddenly invaded by the police, only to find .......peonies?) Back at it, rosequeen. I can grow tree peonies, but they're not fragrant. They only bloom 3 weeks in June and even people who can grow them don't because they take up too much room for something that isn't going to bloom all summer. So the peony may have become sort of a forgotten flower. Fleur de Peony is an ok fragrance if you're not expecting peonies. It comes on all frothy and chipper; it's the lychees I think. And develops into a jasmine/whatever-they're-calling-peony scent that lasts 4+ hours or so on my skin. It's a good floral scent, but not fabulous. Mercifully I found someone selling samples, so I didn't have to drop major money determining this. (I covered it over with Floris Bouvardia at hour 5.) Lovers of the peony scent will have to keep looking.

05. April 2026 This was newly added to the selection of Aerin fragrances in our main department store, even though it is not a new launch, so im very surprised. Since i like many Aerin fragrances and own few, i tried it on and was pleasantly surprised. I was not, however, pleasantly surprised by the price if 230eur for 100ml (only option we have). While its a very nice peony scent, but the litchi is very strong and very synthetic here and closer to drydown it actually reminds me of a Versace's Bright crystsl on steroids, which can be purchased for much less. Not saying its identical, but the vibe is quute the same for me nose, i might test them side by side next time. Lasts few hours only on skin, yet longer and more powerful on clothes. I would not pay over 90eur for this, even if i enjoy the scent and bottle.

Soft Lychee/Peony. Brought a smile to my face. That immediately began to fade over the next few minutes when I started realizing how poorly it was performing. This is the standout of the line. And its performance is OK at best. And the scent you can find somewhere else. No need to pay like super high end for this. Miss dior blooming bouquet or Versace bright crystal will do you good enough. Bottles from the line are gorgeous but who cares if the juice is a mess? Sad.

It’s a really fresh, beautiful fragrance. Longevity wise it’s very close to the skin and I find myself reapplying after an hour or two. But I think it could be layered nicely with another fragrance too.

Smells just like Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. Sweet, feminine and young. Not bad but nothing special.

This is a cute, sweet peony scent. Nothing complex just really nice and refreshing. Great on a warm day.

I got a little sample vial with my main EL order, and I can't say I'm blown away--which is the same response I have had to most of the Aerin fragrances. I expect more from them because of the significantly higher price point, and yet to my nose they are generally inferior to the classic EL line, as well as the EL Luxury Line. On first spray, Fleur de Peony gave me a bit of a Delina OG vibe--the tart accord in the opening doesn't include a rhubarb note, according to the Fragrantica pyramid, but the overall effect is Delina-ish, only instead of a rose, you get a peony. I love the scent of old-fashioned peonies, the frilly, super-fragrant kind that always draws the ants because of the sugar that's literally oozing from the big fat buds, but fresh rose and fresh peony are often similar enough that you don't really register the distinction here. That said, longevity is not the best. All the Aerin fragrances that I have tested tend to be sort of sheer and transparent, which no doubt makes them seem more elegant to many, but some of us expect a bit more bang for the buck. Honestly, I would rather wear Pleasures Intense than Fleur de Peony, and it's a better value, too.

I found this pretty boring and linear, a bit overly sweet. If you like a sweet floral this is a pretty straightforward and palatable option, but I don't think it justifies the price. It's /fine/.

I love a good refreshing peony scent and the bottle is so classy. However, there is something quite forgettable about this fragrance and it just doesn’t project or last.

I was so excited to purchase the Fleur de Peony because it had been out of stock for sometime, and Peony is my favorite scent. The Aerin line has been so enjoyable to me. Full bottles of the Mediterranean Honeysuckle and the Limone Di Sicilla are in my possession along with miniature bottles of the Wild Geranium and Aegea Blossom. I also had a sample of the MH's In Bloom version which could have easily become one of my top 5 signature scents had it not been in limited supply. The appeal is that Aerin makes high quality scents which are placed in beautiful bottles and packaging. Unfortunately, the Fleur de Peony is not for me. In agreement with some of the previous comments below, It's a complete Lychee scent and it should have been the eponym for this fragrance. What I expected was a more complementary Peony/ Lychee combination in which Peony was the dominant aroma. This would be similar to Chole, Delina La Rosee, and Envy Me. Nova perfume also found a way to subdue its Lycee with a floral scent of rose. However, Fleur de Peony is akin to Very Good Girl and Miracle, which are are beautiful, but not Peony based scents. Therefore, I will keep Fleur de Peony as a day off fragrance. Also, I'm hoping that a more realistic Peony flaker will be introduced by Aerin in the future. UPDATE: Scent does not last long at all.

I must express my disappointment with this fragrance. It comes across as rather mundane, closely resembling the typical sweet, fruity scents prevalent in many basic perfume lines for women. Its similarity to offerings you might find in a standard collection is notable. Had this been an Estée Lauder product instead of Aerin, perhaps my expectations would have been more aligned. Also, the scent doesn't live up to the elegance of its bottle.

The smell is thick and an annoyingly sweet, such as in fragrances from Juicy Couture synthetics. You could like this if you are a fan of Delina, Lust in Paradise, if you like Issey's Pivoine, YSL Mon Paris, Lancome's Miracle Blossom. This that same vibe of floral sweetness. Litchi, pomelo fruitiness and a happy, childish peony. A fruity-floral.

this is a really lovely perfume and the opening is super interesting, but it dries down to something pretty familiar in the designer world. the opening has this lovely playful freshness, fruity without being overbearingly so like Bright Crystal. it's mostly lychee, which is effervescent like in Kayali's lychee offering, with a touch of sweet pomelo and a slight bitter edge of orange. but that fruity accord completely disappears in the drydown, and to be honest it smells more like a tart (but not juicy) raspberry once it's settled on skin. it's definitely a peony-forward fragrance which is great, and it's not that watery, weak peony that Ex Nihilo uses. it's quite powdery overall, and the base is neither too woody or too musky. but i just can't get past the fact that this smells exactly like Ariana Grande's Mod Blush to me. it's slightly sour but not juicy, powdery and floral, sweet. this does smell slightly elevated compared to it, Mod Blush is more sickly and has a synthetic smell to it where this doesn't, but the difference is marginal. i don't get Delina, i don't get Blooming Bouquet, even though they're in similar worlds, this is pure Mod Blush. there's similarities in the opening to Good Girl Blush but not so much in the drydown. signed, the world's biggest peony lover, still trying to find my perfect peony scent!

Am i crazy for smelling vanilla in the drydown while its not listed ! This is a very basic scent , overpriced and boring .. not offensive at all .. a fresh blast of fruits at first spritz then it mutes down to basic floral vanilla .. an aftershower spray alternative ... gave it away for my sister , even for a girl who still adore generic smells this is way too basic for me

This may not be a perfect Peony scent, but it’s perfect in every other way for me. It’s a great spring scent that brings a smile to my face. It has a level of maturity to keep it from being teenybopper in the way some spring scents can develop. The ambroxan gives it a little sexiness that I wasn’t expecting. I will keep this in heavy rotation.
