Garden Rose Eau de Cologne

Use only in big bottles, this is truly beautiful, a rose cologne for ladies, it already sounds good and promising, and it smells good too. It is not just a rosy fruity water, but a voluptious red and deep rose, but in cologne. It is not very strong, but it should not be since it is a refreshing cologne. For those who appreciate roses.

My first Aerin, and what better place to start than her series of rose colognes - it's the queen of flowers for a reason! For me, it's one of those notes I can't get enough of, provided it's done well. And in the case of Garden Rose, that's definitely the case. It's such a satisfying scent, it does exactly what it says on the tin: it's a lovely true botanical "garden" rose, with the lightness and fleetingness of a cologne. Wonderful for summer! I don't get much of anything else - maybe the amber serves to add some richness and depth, but essentially it's all rose. The price per ml isn't so bad either, although you do need a lot of it if you want to wear it for longer than a fleeting summer moment. I'm impressed, and I can't wait to try Aerin's other roses, and maybe it's time to give some of her none-cologne scents a chance as well...

I have been testing rose perfumes, and this one arrived today in rollerball form. I ran it around my wrist, and got a very faint rose scent, and I do mean faint. Thinking perhaps the fragrance had not dispensed, I rolled it around until my wrist was wet, then smelled. Yes, it is a rose, a very languid, pale, watery rose. A rose in the mist, blink and it's gone. Several times today I've reapplied and tried to get scent out of this rollerball, but it's barely there when wet and leaves nothing when dried. It is molecules of scent. Perhaps a trained dog would know it was there, but certainly your lover won't. I just tried again to give it one last chance, my 5th reapplication,but a neighbor's barbecue overpowers what is on my arm. I can smell somebody else's meat cooking - but not the perfume I just put on my arm. Maybe if this was a big splash bottle, where you could cup your hands and really go for it, I'd have a different opinion (but not for the price). As it stands, all I can say is the rose seems right,I mean what scent there is smells like rose, but it's too weak to bother. I may regift to a perfume beginner but not for any scent lover. I also don't think this is my skin chemistry, I think it's formulation but I'll be interested to see if I'm wrong. Any rosewater is stronger than this. If a child made perfume for you, by putting rose petals in a jug of water, this is what you'd get. It is nothing but an expensive disappointment. Don't waste your money.
