Tangier Vanille D'Or

This is exclusive to Neiman Marcus in the states. Today I went there simply to browse the fragrance area, I noticed this and decided to purchase it. All I have to say is, "WOW! I wish I could buy all 3 of the gold line. They are beautiful fragrances, the bottles are extremely gorgeous. The perfume is deadly good and the most incredibly awesome thing I've ever smelled of its own. This a must have for sophisticated women. This how beautiful women are supposed to smell.

I blind brought this for a really reasonable price. Initially I wasn’t too sure and was tempted to sell it on. I put it away and just reached for it this morning. Wow! It’s evolved into the most beautiful, soft, slightly spicy, warm vanilla. So sophisticated and elegant. I love it! Perfect for Autumn/ fall

This is such a beautiful scent! It’s a lighter version of Kilian’s Angels Share. It’s gorgeous. Not to sweet, it’s spicy and cozy. Perfect for fall and winter. A true hidden gem.

I love this! It’s a nice spicy vanilla perfect for fall and the holiday season :) ... it reminds me of SDV, but with way more spice & complexity added. Very nice.

The Paradise of the Elegant A wonderful, warm, and inviting fragrance that enchants without ever imposing itself. Imagine a mysterious woman of middle age, gracefully inspecting the spices that have been brought to her villa. With a playful smile, she looks up at you, almost inviting you to kiss her shoulder. She lovingly brushes her nose against yours before gently - yet firmly - pressing her lips to the corner of your mouth. She is warm, but never too sweet. She is mysterious, but never too dark. Her skin smells of vanilla and something deeper, something you can't quite place - something that invites exploration. The paradise of the elegant.

Rich, mature, cozy yet also elegant vanilla. There’s depth. It’s sweet but not overly so. The vanilla here is more like a bourbon vanilla, which is more to my taste than just pure vanilla. It does remind me of Black Opium Le Parfum, except this one is sweeter and more ambery. Shame it’s not being made anymore, but glad I had the chance to sample. I will savor my decant and then return to my Black Opium Le Parfum which does also scratch that “deep rich vanilla” itch for me.

This is very nice. It kind of reminds me of Dior Addict, the 2014 version. I think Aerin’s is more smooth. Kinda woody slightly Oriental vanilla. It lacks the incense or bourbon feel of Addict, but the vanilla in Tangier Vanille D’Or is so rich and luxurious, at the same time so velvety soft. I really like OG Tangier Vanille, but the D’Or version is next-level. The OG is more casual wear, I think, whereas D’Or feels more special occasion.

Sweet smooth, pure & expensive vanilla that sits close to the skin.

Apparently this is discontinued but still wanted to test the dabber sample I got. In the opening, I get a bit of plum but it's in the background compared to the spice. It's definitely more of a fall vanilla with the spice and smokiness, which almost gives off a suede quality. Was slightly off putting at times for me, not sure if I get along with spicy vanillas as much as I like the sound of it. Softer projection after about 2 hours but lasted about 8 hours.

The whole Aerin Lauder line of perfumes are VERY expensive and they all have horrificly bad sillage and longevity. I felt like I was wearing NOTHING. Edit 8/2024: I bought a bunch of the OG Tangier Vanilla (100 ML worth of carded samples, nice size at 2 ML each, decanted them into five 20 ML atomizers) and it's so beautiful that I can deal with the mediocre performance by overspraying. I'd like to try the D'Or version but I'm a little bit put off usually with saffron. The regular version of this though is a gorgeous balmy vanilla extract and brown sugar type of vanilla and I love it!!

Smells like Tangier Vanille DNA turned down with a focus on new tires. Where is the plum? I get rubber 😩. Maybe it's the saffron although I've NEVER had this reaction with saffron. BR540 and I get along. The almond in extrait is a no for me. Libre le parfum has saffron but i dont get fresh tires. (Yes I clearly have LOTS of experience with saffron lol- 4 perfumes worth now) It does go away mostly in the drydown but there's still a hint. Dreamy notes and still a stinker.

This is a pre-review for a sample I have coming. I love the original for its similarity to Bonne Bell Skin Musk. I don't at all mind the plasticky note. I appreciate the comparisons here despite no reviews. I've always been after the Cavalli (can't find a sample) but found Kate Walsh's Boyfriend to have way too much patchouli. When there is a 'gold" version of a perfume, what does that mean? What notes would good be associated with?

This is a unique and lovely vanilla fragrance. I love the myrrh undergirding the syrupy sweet vanilla; I thought there may be a soft suede note here but it must be the myrrh and saffron giving that impression. I’m going to play around with my sample because I’ve noticed the scent has become brighter and sweeter over time, and the vanilla in here is a brown sugar vanilla, as is the case with Kayali Vanilla 28.

Sophisticated and very well blended spicy vanilla perfume! Not too sweet, luscious vanilla, surrounded by myrrh and saffron, projects through all stages of this scent. A hint of plum in the top notes adds a slightly fruity vibe. Highly recommended to all vanilla lovers!
