Aether Oxyde

I cannot compliment this enough. Love at first sniff. Heavy on the IsoE, yes, but so much more than just that. A soft, comforting yet fresh woodsy scent. It doesn't disappear like Molecule01, but stays on the skin for several hours. Longevity better than moderate, sillage within an arms length. It isn't a very complex scent but still not a simple or "flat" scent, although fairly linear. But to me that doesn't matter because it is so beautiful. In this the IsoE really does work as the umami of scent. I actually do agree with this possibly being the smell of peace. Simply gorgeous.

Ether Oxyde is warm, woody, friendly, and comforting. A dry and crisp scent which, to me, is great for those days when I don't really know what I want to wear. I've now emptied an 8 ml decant of Ether Oxyde. Not once have I been particularly excited about this scent, but it's one of few scents in my collection that never annoys me. Ether Oxyde always works. On me, it also has great lasting power – I'd say eight hours or more – and a narrow, but persistent sillage. Its color is greige.

Honestly it's pretty awful. It delivers exactly what is said on the package the nail polish-like opening of ethyl acetate plus iso e and ambroxan, aka molecule 01 mixed with 02. Reminds me a bit of syrup mixed with paint thinner. I particularly dislike Iso e on its own, although it is fantastic in properly fleshed out woody compositions. The dry down is like the smell latex gloves leave on your fingers.

A watered down floral sweetness -- it feels totally faceless and formless. It's less than a vignette, it feels like an impression. A little bit of metallic screech and some rust, but it's not noxious. It comes across as a clipped mood, a truncated emotion. I can't help but feel that this is incomplete. Or, depleted. Sorta like reading an extract of a text that leaves you looking for more... It's more like a passing smell than an actual perfume. Might need to try this one out again, possibly in isolation...

You know that "Generic Men's Cologne" scent? It is here in all it's glory. But it's also a stripped down version, where it's all that's here, and that somehow makes it more wearable. It's the equivalent of putting on a masculine hat or jacket, vs the posing as a frat boy that many colognes feel like. It's simple and that makes it nice.

This reminds me a bit of Molecules 02. I really like it! On me this smells a bit more clean than Molecules 02. I always wear it after a long shower to really feel and smell nice and clean.

Hardly any smell detected unfortunately. I like the direction in which they were trying to go, but it seems like they never really made it there.

Ordered a sample of this. Soft, but noticeable, a little sweet, but also a little salty. Really unusual! Definitely unisex.
