Burner Perfume No 4: John Frum

One of very few fragrances that quite simply smells like nothing I've ever smelled before. It opens with a bright, throbbing, reddish-orange tropical fruit note with sour lime. This remains throughout the wearing. Beneath that orange (color not odor) is smoldering, moldering (I mean that in a good way), vegetal wood, as though the rotting heart of a tropical hardwood tree was being burned. An incredible scent, and truly evocative of the Pacific islands, where I spent several years as a kid. Unique and wonderful!!!

I get a more woody note than the fruit, very pleasant, but it is complex due to the addition of fruit, lime and coconut which to me is in the background. It lasts a very long time, 12+ hours and has decent sillage. A small bottle will last as it is a very concentrated juice, applying as a roll on. You don't need much. An award winner, Amber Jobin did a terrific job and I want to sample her other offerings.

FUNKY FRUIT Unique. Off the beaten path. Bohemian. That's what comes to mind. If you are not afraid to be bold, and have a strong streak of making a statement with your fragrance, then sample this. For some, I think it will be 'love at first sniff'. For others, like me, it's more 'ok, this is interesting, in a good way, I think it's creative, original, not overly challenging to make me dislike it, I like the fruity notes, there's a sour in there that makes me think 'funky'...." LIke I said with the other Burner fragrance #3, I applaud this type of creation. I just won't be wearing it.
