Citrus Ester

I'm really REALLY getting into this one. It's a dirty citrus -- possibly cumin, but with a blunted metallic element, as well as muted moist/overripe notes. It works -- a synth citrus with an unclean element. As with other Aether scents, I'm picking up familiar notes with other known scents. And this one is reminding me of something. First year of WSC, basically the start of my mass-produced niche journey, so, I'm inclined to say L'Artisan, possibly Batucada or maybe Timbuktu. Anyway, it's quite pleasant and enjoyable, especially without that bitter-sweaty seawater note...I really need to think on this, and even try it out again. I don't know if I need this in my life, but I am enjoying it...

I put this on today after almost a year -- it was in that 'too difficult' basket; I wasn't sure if I liked it, or if I LOVED it. Anyway, I went to the storage unit last night and picked this one up, just to help me make my decision, and it seems that yes, I still like it, and yes, I wish to buy it. It will be entirely contingent on a WHOLE heap of things going right, and so, hopefully, I'll cross this off my 'to buy' list and bring the whole 12+ years of sampling to an end! It's a sharp, bitter (but pleasant) citrus, offset by a dirty note -- part metallic, part caustic, part cumin. I don't have the right words for this, unfortunately, but I REALLY like this one, and I'm looking to buy it!

Great fragrance that unfortunately doesn't get the attention it deserves. It's sweet but at the same time got some really interesting undertones to it (if I had to describe it, I'd say tard ones. Perhaps it's the grapefruit. Anyway, it's definitely something you have to experience yourself). Despite it not being a natural perfume, it doesn't smell synthetic at all. I really love it!

Completely agree with the reviewer that said this doesn't get the attention it deserves. Actually this perfumer seems to be maligned by most. I digress; opens with a unique grapefruit citrus that is quite sharp. Fades into a very pleasant rose that maintains a diminished, but still noticable, more lemony citrus on the back end. Then you notice an ever increasing Woody/ earthy scent. This base note takes center stage but the rose/citrus remains close for the life of the fragrance. All stages of this scent are sharp, which some may attribute to a "chemical" smell but I find invigorating.

This is not really like Pamplemousse Rose or Un Jardin Sur Le Nil. It has no floral note. It is grapefruit yes, but it isn’t the same kind of grapefruit in either of those perfumes. It’s a bit soft, sweet, almost has a candied aspect. Citrus Ester doesn’t quench my grapefruit craving as it’s not musky, bitter, or juicy enough. Pleasant though. Inoffensive. An idea would be to layer this with a scent that does contain grapefruit to enhance that note. I’d be curious to know if this was similar to that discontinued L’Occitane grapefruit and rhubarb scent.

This is a delightful, fresh-sweet citrus, with almost vanillic aspects and a floral tinge that brings to mind some of my favourite rhubarb desserts. It's not meant to be a photorealistic grapefruit, but more of an artistic impression of one - the scent of it blending with the warm air of a bright, joyful summer day. I usually like my citrus a bit on the bitter side, but I still like this very much. I'll definitely come back to it when the weather is a bit warmer; I have a feeling this would take a whole other dimension on slightly sweaty skin.

For something that's supposed to only smell like grapefruit & rhubarb, I'm getting a sharp perfumey vibe like there are fixative base molecules hiding in this keeping the volatile top notes from flying away too quickly. It's kinda spicy smelling. Yes it's obviously a bitter tart grapefruit rhubard scent, but I swear it also smells like there is black pepper. Maybe it's just me...

Æther nails simple perfection with this one. Sometimes simple fragrances are incredibly beautiful. This is a blast of grapefruit rind followed by a fizzy grapefruit soda (Jarritos!). The dry down is tart rhubarb and lightly sweet citrus. For something so citrus-focused the longevity is great.

very good release by aether, rhubarb mixed with grapefruit and pamplemousse is awesome . definetly unisex and very good for hot weather.

Smells like Terre D'Hermes but with a lemon.

Smells soo good but last 1-2 hours.
