Highness III

This is such an amazing fragrance, after two days I immediately purchased an additional two bottles. Spray on skin & it will take you to another place that only few fragrances are able to achieve. I get dried mixed woods (like visiting a large woodpile) with slight pencil shavings & after about 30 minutes the slight soapy aroma starts to appear. Then you get the mixed types of wood with slight soap in the background & it stays like this through the duration which is a good 12 hours. This is suitable for the more mature person that makes a statement when they enter a room. Very versatile except in extreme hot weather & can be worn dressed up or down. Some say that this smells like "Royal Oud" (another of my favorites) but is it no where near, they are both different fragrances where the only common factor being they are both dominant in wood. Novice noses may class the two as identical twins & I can get that, but I would say that if these are twins, then they are not identical twins. The bottle is quiet heavy & the cap is solid & it looks & feels great. In my opinion, this fragrance is a steal if purchased on discount websites for under $100. When wearing this fragrance, you will be the best smelling person in the room & I very much doubt that anyone else would of ever smelled it before. Many will ask you what are you wearing & where did you get it from. 10/10

I absolutely love this. Polo was the first fragrance I ever wore. It was my father's. It was for my 8th grade dance. It was in the 80s. It was too old for me then, but I miss it so much now. The current formulation is disgraceful. Highness III (green) is more Polo than Polo. Both its longevity and sillage are quite impressive. I only use one or two sprays. That's enough to smell it easily within arm's reach, and you'll still be smelling it on your clothes the next day. With additional sprays you can clear out a room, and for me personally, the "amber" becomes too slightly overpowering. Some will day this is "dated", but I will say it is more "classic" or "retro". This is a man's cologne. Don't know if this would fly in the frat houses of today. Y'all can judge for yourself. For me, though, this exudes a masculine confidence that's grounding. It's not sweet, fruity, or unisex. If you like the old, classic Polo, this is without question blind-buy worthy, no questions asked. UPDATE: I've been layering this with Bottega Veneta Pour Homme, and it's amazing. I absolutely love BV, but it's performance is atrocious, to say the least. A single spray of His Highness under the BV not only helps the latter to project, but the resulting combination of the two is exponentially better producing a warm, vintagey, manly scent.

This one was not on my radar but happy to find it as a fan of fougere and barber shop fragrances. I have a growing collection of middle eastern fragrance houses and don't usually think fougere and Afnan. I believe this is a dupe of Polo Green. Afnan did well here and I think the asking price is representative of the quality. Comparing to the modern day Polo Green, Highness is superior to me in every way. The current Polo Green has wet ashtray smell to me and I reach for Polo Green Intense as a replacement (I love Polo Green Intense but the performance is lacking on my skin). Compared to the original Polo Green, this is where I think Highness is most comparable. For this reason, this is highly recommended looking for the classic Polo Green with good performance.

My initial impressions of this are very positive. I get the somewhat harsh opening that I do find reminiscent of royal oud (one of my favorites). After a few minutes, this dissipates and I'm left with a green woody scent that does in fact remind me of the original polo for men. This stuff is a stunner, particularly when considering the price point. If you're scared of oud as a note, you don't have to worry with this one. There's no barnyard accord or fecal stench. It's a dark woody and green scent with a light sweetness underneath. I'll work through my decant and update my impressions at the end. So far, so good.

This fragrance is fresh, invigorating, and masculine. To me, it has a minty coolness, not toothpaste mint, but a freshly picked green mint that has been magnified and mixed with pepper and other fougeres. This is a dark green fragrance that's for a confident man, not for the timid. It lasts quite awhile, especially on fabrics. I can smell it days later on fabrics. Truly a remarkable and bold fragrance. It's my go to fragrance for the cool days of early spring.

This smells like Santos de Cartier I have both except this one is a bit more linear and santos changes a bit. But I love this one a lot. This does not smells like royal oud at all. I’m surprised no one has compared it to santos de Cartier. I would say 90 to 95 % similar.

A great woody/aromatic/spicy scent, reminiscent of Creed Royal Oud but not the same. Longevity on me is amazing - 12+ hours - and projection good. Very masculine scent, best for an older guy (30+) with some confidence. Office friendly but go easy on the sprays!

Impressive PUNGENT, dry, dark, green, herbal, animalic niche-style fragrance. Uber masculine WOW fragrance that demands attention. Same genre as Amouage Epic and Polo Green, but stronger and more pepper.

This Highness III is a beast! The oud and cedar are really prominent, giving it a strong, masculine vibe. I get compliments every time I wear it. Definitely lasts all day.

I get most of the notes listed above in order, particularly the galbanum, cedar, oak moss and Oud. Its smoother than I was expecting but not sweet or warm. Green pencil shavings, black oil, a shoe polish box, a cashmere or wool note. I think the supposed resemblance with Royal Oud must be because they both rely on the dark Firmenich Oud base for their hearts rather than the more popular and warmer Givco, but the top and middle notes are nothing alike. I don’t have the Polo so can’t compare them. In the interview linked above the Highness line is not a direct clone line and I believe it. Besides the beastly strength this is not going to please everyone. Agree, synthetic or not it’s a niche smell. Will update in a day or so with the dry down.

Very mature and elegant scent. Sharp, green and spicy. I think this would work well when dressed up, but wear it whenever you want, however you want. Remember, fragrances should be for you. Not a compliment puller by any means but not offensive at all. Amazing performance, lasts 10 hours, if not more, before becoming a skin scent. Projects strongly for the first 4 hours, then sits closer to the skin but still very noticeable. When I sweat or heat up a bit, the fragrance seems to come back to life.

This has a green, woodsy scent profile with an undertone of leather. It's mature, masculine, and gentlemanly. I can't see anyone under 30 or 35 liking this. I definitely get the similarities to Polo Green, so if you feel that fragrance is too dated then I would steer clear of this. It's a unique scent in today's endless landscape of sweet and bubble gummy releases. Worth a try if you're into fragrances that evoke an old school vibe.

The great one! Sophisticated, perfect quality, "barbershopery" perfume with a great performancelongevity for a mature gentleman. Reminds me of PoloNoir Anthracite but probably even better. Pricey (potentially due to wooden box and metal bottle)

This reminds me of Lalique Equus (horse head), but with much better projection and longevity. If you love Equus but are disappointed with its performance, try Afnan Highness Green.

Dark green, cypress, masculine scent, with a vintage vibe. Reminds me of Polo Green but more formal. Great performance. I give it a 7/10

First of all, this is a solid fragrance for the price, around $70-80. But on that note, this smells absolutely nothing like Royal Oud. I think the reason this gets compared to that is because “ChaosFrags” said that on his review video. That review, and this purchase, upon first wearing let me know that he’s a completely shill that will say anything to move product. There is zero resemblance between this and RO imo. RO is soft, powdery, clean, airy and light, some citrus in there. This is absolutely thick, syrupy darkness. Dark browns, dark greens etc. A completely different scent altogether. But not a bad one at all, I would say along the lines of an Epic man Polo etc. Dark greens, dark woods, slight dirtiness to it. This smells synthetic and can be overpowering, BUT if not oversprayed it’s a nice smell. Hyper masculine scent with old school vibes. Performance is a definite 10/10 Decent scent for what it is. Def don’t buy this thinking it’s a Royal Oud clone or anything remotely similar because of some YouTube shill trying to get commission. By no means a bad scent, but tbh I wouldn’t have purchased if it wasn’t for the comparison. Using a 2016 bottle and New batch of RO for comparison.

It smells nice, a vintage vibe with a modern touch. It has NOTHING to do with Royal Oud. Completely different worlds TBH. Also on me it lasts approximately 6 hours with moderate sillage. A nice scent but highly overpriced. I believe half of what you pay goes into the packagings. Gloss-lacquered wooden box and a heavy bottle (highly ornamented). The scent itself should fall within the 30-40 euros price range. Compared to La Yukawam it doesn’t last that long, the sillage is weaker and the quality is just ok. And La Yukawam is 30 euros cheaper... overhyped and overpriced.

Polo Green and Royal Oud this is not. Those are masterpieces. This is really, really green and that cypress will punch you. This is closer to M. Micaleff RedColorado or Les Abstraits Des Cendres. Polo Green is my favorite fragrance of all time.... This is not it. I guess it is in the vein but really it does it's own thing. After 5 minutes that cypress punch goes away and I can kind of see the Polo Green? But ya, don't expect it to be that. Again... I get more RedColorado vibes. This is Canadian Lumberjack working all day.

I get the comparisons to Royal Oud and Polo Green. I'd say it doesn't have the bright qualities of Royal Oud but it isn't as stiff as Polo Green. It's somewhere in between. The opening is a bit sharp but settles down. The dry down lasts forever. I can still smell it on my skin the next day. I'm not sure but I think I get an ambroxan note on the dry down. I wouldn't recommend blind buying this one, definitely try it first.

There's a sharpness I'm not fond of and a mix of wood and herbal that makes it quite pungent. Not that oud often goes unnoticed. I find it an outdoorsy man's fragrance, nothing unisex here. If you want a departure from the sweeter metrosexual scents of today, this is your answer. Very good longevity and sillage. Can't say it's my cup of tea but others will like it.

This is a heavier green fragrance. To me it has Beach Hut Man vibes from Amouage, but deeper. People are right in comparing this to a woody forrest. Being Australian, we don’t get Cypress in the woods. Great projection and longevity, but not a blind buy. Not something I will reach for regularly.

This is a Polo Green clone. Just buy the real deal, it's 100X better and about the same price.

Well, my bottle hasn't been touched since i first made the mistake of buying it . I used to be impatient and for a brief period I was duped into the dupes if you will. Ive since learned patience, respect and appreciation for the hobby of collecting. Now, I'm not a negative person and you'll rarely see me put a fragrance down. For the most part I try to find some redeeming or qualifying qualities about each and every fragrance I test or own. I have a respectable collection, and I've tested even more. My experience is vast, humbly I say this. I say all that to say, this fragrance is sickening. I own real Royal Oud and this is not it, not close. To say it is disrespectful. Royal Oud is a smooth, wonderfully blended, quality fragrance that exudes humble confidence, sophistication and wealth. I urge anyone who owns this to get a decant of real Royal Oud and give it a few full wears. Again, I am not trying to be a snob or rude but this is a cheap synthetic mess. Something I would expect to get off Temu. Highness III opens with a synthetic green type accord. Cypress I imagine is what they're going for. There's some weird sweetness...Honestly this smells like a Glade air freshener you spray at Christmas. It's literally that. I do not reccomend this fragrance at all. If you want Royal Oud save up or get a decant, please do have more respect for yourself than to stoop to this. You know what, I will say this, it makes a great room spray and it lingers for hours. Do not pay more than $30 for this, and $25 of that is bottle/presentation.

I'm fairly puzzled with all the love for this one. Please don't buy this thinking it's a Creed Royal Oud clone because it doesn't even remotely smell like Royal Oud to my nose. It does smell like the more modern original Polo with an underlying animal smell and synthetic backbone. It is very strong with great performance so that's a plus, but it's still a dislike for me. As for Afnan Highness VI (Blue) which is not on Fragrantica yet, it is very similar to Afnan Tribute Blue but with amped up citruses. It still has a little bit of that underlying synthetic middle eastern vibe but is a good blue fragrance overall.

Nothing like Royal Oud. All cypress, lavender, oakmoss, and leather. Heavy, thick, green, and unpleasant.

#318 in my "Tour de Fragrance" It's a confusing scent. At first, I thought, "It's not like any women's or man's fragrance I've encountered so far, and I've now done hundreds. But it reminds me of something." Not what I expected at all. Not really like a dupe of anything, certainly not of Creed Royal Oud. It really projects and it really lingers! I did a three mile run and it wasn't attenuated in the least. And the whole time it bothered me that the smell was so familiar but not like any other fragrance I've worn. I got back from the lake and was thinking about showering to scrub this stuff off because it was becoming just too much, but I paused to take my laundry out of the dryer, and that's when I realized: - Highness III smells like dryer sheets (with a hint of pepper). - Or like Mrs. Meyer's Lavender Laundry Detergent mixed with a little Lemon Pine Sol. Those are not awful scents for their commercial purpose, though I prefer unscented cleaning products, but I don't think this works at all as a fragrance on me. You decide for you. At $130 I know I'm sorry this was a blind buy. I bought it a year ago and the price has dropped significantly, I think for very good reason. It was early in my "tour" and I was still learning. It's not the only time I've ever purchased a frag with fewer than 500 reviews, but this one was a mistake I'll not repeat. Be warned. The deceptive mildness of the opening of this scent can make you think it isn't strong. Go easy! This stuff really projects more than you think it will and lasts longer than you think it will. I made the mistake of applying this like I'd apply Sauvage and my entire house now reeks of this stuff. Once it dries down it's all wood all the time, so yo might try layering this with something you think could use a little more woodiness. Also I concur with JojX's comment on the ridiculously excessive packaging. Yesterday I took about 150 of the Arab scents I've collected out of their packaging to begin evaluating them. The bottles all fit on a few 30" shelves. The debris, including many hard presentation cases, completely filled two rolling garbage carts. That level of environmental carnage should be criminal. Followup: After sitting on the shelf several months the character has completely changed. Now it's mostly cedar, like pencil shavings. That dryer sheet smell is completely gone along with any citrus notes, even though the cap was on tight. Weird.

The opening is a little bit harsh and i didn't think i would like this after the initial smell and i'm not getting much bergamot in the opening honestly. You get a good amount of Cypress from this. This fragrance is a beast. It lasts for a VERY long time. A little animalistic smelling on the opening which then leans green (petitgrain & cypress) and woodsy. The agar wood mellows out a bit after 5 minutes or so but definitely still present and gets much better. While I appreciate this on artistic merit, I'm honestly not a huge fan of this fragrance until the far far dry down. Definitely has a slightly old school vibe from the oakmoss. I'm not getting any animalistic leather, but more of a clean leather base and is definitely not prominent to my nose. I'm getting slight Memo Paris Irish Leather vibes but by no means 1:1, as Highness is a little darker, more dark green smelling, Irish Leather is a little more airy and fresh. This does not smell like Polo Green to me until maybe the far far dry down, and only some notes in common, but doesn't smell alike. Polo Green is fresher when smelled side by side, which is interesting, cause i've never considered Polo as a fresh fragrance, if you want even fresher, go for Polo Intense. Presentation is Luxe & Niche-looking. The internal box is heavy, has a leather-like stitching inside, reminiscent of Xerjoff. Outer box is very nice as well, with nice tissue paper covering the inner box. Bottle is heavy glass and decorated with metal accents. Cap is metal and heavy. Performance is beastly......no complaints there. This will cut through any cold day and i would only wear this in cooler weather. Longevity is crazy and projection is crazy too for a few hours. I was able to get this for $65, with tax for about $70. Some sites are selling this for upwards to $200. Don't get fooled by that, especially for an Afnan fragrance. This is pretty challenging and polarizing. I can't see wearing this on a warm or hot day. If you're new to the game, i would definitely test before buying if you can. It's Niche-like in smell and presentation. This definitely isn't for everyone. If I had to say an age range for this, 30s and above maybe? They say it is fairly close to Creed's Royal Oud, but I haven't smelled it so I personally can't compare the 2.

I agree with some reviews below that this kinda has a cannabis note, I think it's just the combination of leather and all the green notes like pine and cypress. I would say if you want Royal Oud, this has totally different character. It's not relaixng like RO, this is dark, intense, green, leathery. Yes, It's same in the opening that last for 5 seconds maybe, but after that it's just pine forest and leather... Reminds me of Cedrat Boisé. A leathery woody very serious scent. To give you idea if this is for you, imagine a strong ass lumberjack with huge beard, coming back from a long day of work in a pine forest, wearing a leather jacket, not giving a fuck about impressing anyone. If this is the vibe you want, you will be pleased with this scent. Although I can't imagine wearing this myself, I respect the creation. It's very well done, very mature, I fully disagree with review below that says that this is "screechy and disgusting" since this *literally* smells like nature.

Incredible powerhouse scent. First application of this juice this morning and still going strong after a full workday. It is definitely meant for the sophisticated gentleman. Application on skin was excellent however would not recommend on clothing. It will most likely be eternal. Woody and spicy upon first spray that settles down to a Polo Green meets Drakkar Noir scent. I ended up smelling my pulse points throughout the day. Leather and Oud showed up 2 hours later. Incredible sillage. Not a safe work cologne unless used very conservatively otherwise it will be overwhelming to others. Epic business meeting or evening out with a power projection.... absolutely yes. I do get the Creed Royal Oud vibes but the predominant resemblance is indeed old school Polo Green and yes IMHO, Drakkar. Incredible juice. Love what Afnan is doing here. PS- the packaging and presentation is absolutely top notch. I have never seen such a well crafted coffin case with deliberate QC. It deserves to be showcased. For the value of this I would 💯 recommend to the confident 40+> year old man who wants to make a statement. So happy to have found this.

It turned out to be pretty much the same potion as in One Man Show Emerald Edition, which cost below $20. Both are not my first or second choice, so not a blind buy. I now have both and can make a comparison. To the credit of OMS, it lasts rather all day matching the performance of Afnan H-III. Thus the biggest difference is the packaging. I tell you, H-III comes packaged as a top value watch. While opening the package together, my friend said it is packaged like a Rolex and predicted the MSRP of $250 on a fly. Indeed, like a Swiss watch: outer box, inner cardboard box, then a wooden box wrapped in light paper, and then the bottle is recessed inside like a bottle of cognac. That will make an impressive gift.

On me, Highness is tangy, woody, masculine, and smooth. The woody accord here is a papery, peppery, finely-milled sawdust sort of scent. Meanwhile, the aromatic elements have a kind of herbal and astringent greenness. All together, the effect is a compelling blend of sharpness and smoothness; both woodsy and tannic. The sample I have seems to have evaporated somewhat over time, which may be making it more potent. Or maybe it's just nuclear by nature. All I know is that when I apply it now, it sits on my skin like an oil slick, and I was still getting distinct whiffs of it after taking a shower.

It's been a very long time since I have encountered a male fragrance that is so traditional and well blended. The comparisons to RL Polo green are warranted, but Afnan His Highness Green is more balanced. Polo green has a leather note that dominates. This fragrance also reminds me of Duc de Vervin but less brash. It also has a Gucci Nobile vibe. Yeah, it's that good. AHHG is dark green and very distinguished. This is a great work scent if you want to smell like the CEO.

[sample/hand test] I was wearing it on my hand for the whole day and it took me hours to realize what it reminds me. It's not Royal Oud, nor green Polo. It's Buveur De Vent Les Liquides Imaginaires in terms of drydown. Highness is more mossy and got different opening/mid phase, but it's so obvious when I finally realized the resemblance.

This is definitely not a safe blind buy. I had a couple of decants of royal oud, and there's only about 60% similarity with Afnan Green. This one is too overpowering from initial spray to dry down, and the pungent quality lingers for hours. It's a no for me.

it took me a while to figure out what it smelled like but then it hit me... This is a bit more dusty or dry but very very close to Polo Modern Reserve.

Fragantica needs to add highness VI same bottle like this but instead of green it’s blue.
