Supremacy in Oud

Supremacy in Oud-- REVIEW: I've been seriously into men's fragrance since the 80's, when most men's cologne lasted 8 hours to 2 days on skin. No bull!..... And I'm so impressed with Supremacy in Oud that I can hardly put into words what it MEANS to me--having discovered it about a year ago. Let's just say that I rate all of my fragrances on a standard 100-point scale. BUT regardless how good a fragrance smells, I won't rate any fragrance over an "89" unless I can smell it on myself "easily and regularly" for at least 8 hours.....And I've got dry skin to boot. So prior to SIO, the last time I actually wore a "90+" rated fragrance was in 1999 before they reformulated my Giorgio Red for Men! (And yes, I'm sure I've also gone nose-blind to numerous other fragrances since, that may have otherwise "made the grade"). What I SO LOVE about SIO is that for an oud fragrance it's a surprisingly wearable and truly exquisite scent!! In fact, I don't think most people that compliment me on it even know what oud is --They just really seem to be taken with my "cologne"! SIO is quite smooth and creamy, clean-oudy, spicy, slightly yet "perfectly" medicinal, "ideally" and splendidly earthy, woody, with a bit of leather down under, florally rounded, having a slight sweetness, all while smelling wonderfully masculine. And some here--including myself--also get an attractive light fruity/citrusy dimension...... WHAT A COMPOSITION!!! (I can't remember being so utterly entranced with a men's fragrance since the 2006 release of the highly-acclaimed Terre D'Hermes edt). It's also remarkable how many seasons, occasions, places and apparel you can safely wear this quality composition with, if you simply "regulate the number and density/ dispersion of sprays"! Similarly, depending on how it's applied can determine how appreciably present or loud you want or need it to be. (Technical point: The key to the fragrance's versatility--by utilizing its application-- is due mainly to it being an extrait de parfum concentration COMBINED WITH the composition's "more aromatic than normal" structure). SIO is best worn from smart-casual to dressy in fall, winter and cooler spring days. But, I so cherish it that I adjust the sprays for wear in much of spring and on cool summer evenings when appropriate, also wearing it more casually dressed in the fall/winter. (Applied and worn properly, this could fairly easily be a 3-season masculine "signature scent"). Lastly, having tried both Oud for Greatness and Oud for Glory, hands down this is my absolute favorite--because I prefer its scent AND it's a more easily wearable fragrance! (ie. Generally less woody overall and marginally sweeter). I'm currently writing this while enjoying SIO noticeably present around me for 8+ hours now, with an hour or so to go before it usually transitions to a full skin scent!!! Again, having dry skin! And based on my previously mentioned 100-point scale, I rate SIO a 92! In my Top 4 men's fragrances rated "overall"--lifetime. Simply extraordinary, and most likely my modern-day #1 for many years to come! A fragrance best suited for oud lovers ages 27+. So if you've spent countless hours searching on-line reviews for truly exceptional and high-performance men's fragrances like I have, only to be disappointed time and again, I urge you to try/sample SIO. (Not a "blind-buy" fragrance). Its $35 on-line price is really a straight STEAL when you consider the quality, the performance, the fragrance itself, its wearability, the stunning bottle presentation and OFG's $300+ price tag. Do yourself a BIG favor and don't miss it!

Update as promised : I've worn this twice. The first time for dinner at a restaurant and the second time for a day out. First off, this projects like crazy. It's not a beast mode, but it is a strong projector. It last on skin easily for 10 - 12 hours and it projects strong for a few hours too. Definitely out matches Lattafa Badee Al Oud for Glory. Not only does this last and project harder than Lattafa but it also smells sweeter. But the sweetness does calm down once it starts to dry, so don't let the sweet opening fool you. Supremacy In Oud smells more higher quality than Lattafa too. It just smells more youthful, easy to wear (because of the sweetness), and edible (smells like a gormand oud fragrance to me). Of course Initio Oud for Greatness just smells more higher quality compared to Afnan Supremacy In Oud. But this smells more mass appealing and easy to wear. So yes this is a worthy pick up. But only buy if you like Oud. If you are looking to buy Oud or your trying to get into it, then start with this. For the price of you can go wrong. This is can easily be worn any time and anywhere (just be careful when your wearing it during summer). It does give me night out vibes but I guess that's only because I first wore this one a dinner night out. This has pulled me 7 compliments. Once from a girl sitting next to me during the dinner night out. 3 from my friends (during the second time I wore this). They were begging me to tell them what I was wearing. Obviously I told them I was wearing Initio Oud for Greatness xD. And the other 3 from another group of friends I linked up with. Three compliments I received from girls and four from guys. I guess that proves that anyone will love this. Also, it smells great in the air and you will have a nice scent bubble or trail. Scent: 10/10) hands down one of the best Oud fragrance I've tried so far) Projection: 9/10 (strong projector based on 5 sprays you will be smelled from the moment you enter a room or accross a corridor) Performance: 9/10 (last such a long time especially on clothes. I still smell this on my shirt and it's been two weeks) Uniqueness: 10/10 (I have smelled many oud fragrances and I own many oud fragrances too. This definitely smells different) Bottle: 10/10 (looks and feels premium. Even the presentation and box it comes in is amazing. Feels like I'm unboxing a $400 niche) Overall: 9.6/10

First Impressions I got a 150ml bottle for £47.00. Batch is 08/23. I sprayed this one a tester strip and my God this is Incredible. The moment it's sprayed this I could smell a sweet, fresh Oudh. It was really strong and punchy, so much so that I had to open my bedroom window to get rid of the scent. This is giving me the impression that it's going to be an (almost) beast mode fragrance. When the scent actually dries down, I was able to smell more Oudh coming out and the sweetness remains as so does the freshness. I have smelled Initio's Oud for Glory before and it does resemble Afnan very well. Only difference is that the Afnan is much more sweater to my nose. So if you aren't into sweet fragrances (I'm not much of a fan of sweet tbh) then maybe buy Badee Al Oud for Glory. I've tried that one before and it smells more darker. Luckily for me, the Afnan isn't overly sweet so thats a big win for me. If you do spray this on, you will smell like a rich/wealthy person. Or you'll smell like Middle Eastern Royalty. I haven't tried this on my skin yet because I'm currently trying on other new fragrances, but I will try this soon. I am in my 20s and I will definitely be wearing this during Winter, Fall, Autumn and Spring. Maybe even summer (depending on how hot it is). There is nothing wrong with wearing oud in the heat (but it is when wearing it if it's Humid) . Oudh is a dry woody fragrance and where I come from, everyone used to wear Oudh in the heat. Also, Oudh was invented and found in countries where cold weather is basically non existent. So it's no big deal. Also, I don't really care about what time of day to wear this, I will wear this anytime I want. But anyways if you like Oudh or your trying to get into those types of fragrances, then buy this. Yes I did state that the Oudh comes out a lot during the dry down, but trust me, it isn't that bad. The oudh here smells edible, sweet and fresh. If that sounds nice to you then buy this you'll love it. If you want a more darker (and less sweeter oudh) then by Lattafa's Oud for glory. Will update on performance when I actually wear this.

I bought this perfume about 8 months ago and I have to say it's one of my best oud fragrances in my collection. I do not think it is necessarily a "clone" of Initio's OFG, although it certainly gets some inspiration from it. I'd go as far to say that this is a more mass-appealing fragrance than the OFG, at least for me and my friends. Most of the people who have smelt this on me complimented me and asked me what it was. If I had to guess, it is probably the added sweetness to the original OFG DNA that does this. It's a great smelling scent for sure. I would not recommend you blind buying it though, as it is still an oud fragrance, and some people might just not like it, however I do highly recommend you either sample it or smell it in store, it's great! As for the performance, it's a beast. For the price (around 40-50$) , you are probably getting around 10-14 hours of longevity with really good projection and sillage for the first couple of ours. From my 8 month experience with this fragrance, I'd say it probably lasts all day (I once sprayed this fragrance 2-3 hours before I went to sleep and when I woke up, it was still there, and you could easily pick it up). There is another "dupe" of OFG, which is Oud For Glory by Lattafa. I own several fragrances from that house that include Khamrah, Asad and more , but man I really don't like Oud For Glory. It certainly is closer to the DNA, but in a more synthetic way. I did not purchase this fragrance but I got a sample from one of my friends and I tested it, and I really don't like it. Afnan Supremacy in Oud is more refined, better oil quality, higher concentration and overall just a more appealing smell to the masses. Also performance on the Lattafa one is weaker than the Afnan. Overall, it's a great fragrance that I strongly recommend you at least try it out!

I have both OFG and this one. To me afnan is the more refined and smooth version of OFG because that one -to my nose- is a little rough on the edges but afnan is absolutely gorgeous .. creamy and smooth.. one would think this is the original and OFG is the clone!! In the air they are hard to distinguish .. ofg is sweeter and more sugary .. this one is a little darker and I actually prefer the scent ..! But I'd say they're about 85% similar and you wouldn't need both..! As for performance, I actually don't get beast mode on ofg .. it's really long lasting but doesn't project that much .. but afnan is a true beast and fills the house .. I havent gave it a full wear and can't say much about longevity but I doubt it last as long as ofg because that one is parfum and this is EDP. Btw I prefer it this way .. I like my fragrance to project and make a statement.. I'll compare the longevity in next days and will update this post but as up now I really love it and prefer it to the original even if they were priced the same (btw ofg is much fancier in term of presentation though afnan is no slouch either) P.S: I also have supremacy not only intense .. that one I wouldn't say an exact clone of aventus .. they're pretty different. But in oud is really close to OFG maybe some notes are amplified on this one but generally you can call it a clone Update: today I've worn SIO and OFG on each hand .. it's been 16hrs and both are still present and to my surprise, SIO is still going stronger I even asked my coworker if he could distinguish the expensive from the cheap and he guessed wrong and said this one (SIO) is both stronger and better smelling. he stated that SIO is smelling richer and warmer to him..!
