Tribute Blue

Don't be fooled by the "blue" in the name, this is not your typical fresh/marine/aquatic/ type of blue fragrance. In fact, it's kind of a polar opposite. TB is quite a spicy frag. It says "pimento seeds", yet there's a strong peppery scent from the first spray, you can't miss it. Smells like when you grind whole black peppers yourself and you feel the distinctive aroma diffusing and surrounding, often making you sneeze. I don't think that this is an everyday option. It would simply be a waste, also, such oriental fragrances don't let you to do so. I wear this only when I have to dress formally and not use my typical suit fragrances(like Tuxedo or else) in cooler weather. I've been trying to avoid or delay this as much as possible, because I rarely prioritize longevity/sillage and it feels so weird, however, it must be said: I don't know about the latter (because you can't measure it on your own, it must be stated by someone else), but: the longevity of this is astounding. It's been 11 hours and the 2 sprays on my elbow is still there, shining . And it's not a whiff, cause it feels like it was sprayed 2-3 hours ago just like other designer fragrances. Unbelievable, this is the first time I encounter such thing. It's like a joke. Call it synthetic or whatever. A 65 $ fragrance(not a clone/dupe) performs much better than most of the extravagant garbage on the market. Unapologetic. Imagine applying this on the neck after the shower and not liking it, and trying to get rid of it. One of the "Top 5 hellish tortures". Absolutely not safe for blind buy just because of this. About the similarities: I can't tell about Cacharel or Loewe 7, because I have tested neither of them, but Bois Imperial or Encre Noire comparisons are irrelevant, not close at all. 8.5/10

This is a fantastic men's fragrance. According to some light research, apparently this is not a clone but an original creation by Afnan. It does not smell like Ganymede, so don't purchase it for that or you will be disappointed. However, they have unintentionally made an amazing replacement for Cacharel pour L'Homme and to a slightly lesser extent, Dunhill Edition. Those fragrances smell very similar but the Dunhill is a tad sweeter. Unfortunately, reformulation has killed both of those fragrances and they now perform terribly and even smell a little less potent than they used to. Afnan Tribute Blue fixes that. This really feels like it came out in the 80s, it is a powerhouse. It is not trying to be modern or trendy, it is old school, strong, spicy, and very masculine. The start players here are intense smoky vetiver and nutmeg nutmeg nutmeg. Beautiful nutmeg that lasts the entire life of the fragrance. It's quite spicy and aromatic, hardly sweet, with great sillage and projection. Ambery and musky drydown lasts forever. I hate to attach age or gender to fragrances, but I don't think anyone but 35+ men will appreciate this. Of course I'm not in that age group so go figure, wear what you like. Overall, if you like Cacharel pour L'Homme or Dunhill Edition and want a really potent, proper replacement, this is it. Fantastic fragrance on its own, and it's very reasonably priced, but DO NOT blind buy. Absolutely try this first if you are not familiar with these kinds of fragrances. That said, I can definitely recommend it.

This is an incredible fragrance and one of my most successful blind buys. I initially bought it after hearing comparisons to Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver and Cacharel Pour L'Homme, and while it opens semi-similarly to my beloved Cacharel with that citrus/nutmeg combo, it quickly turns into quite a different beast. The drydown of Tribute Blue is crisp, woody, and fresh. I guess there is amber in there too but it's blended very well. Overall it smells classy as heck and is definitely a fragrance for professional attire and distinguished gentlemen - or maybe someone who just loves the outdoors, though in that case it would lean much more towards walking a trail in autumn than a dense forest after a rainfall. Also, this stuff is STRONG. It is definitely not a fragrance you'll need to reapply throughout the work day, and it projects excellently for 2-3 hours after the initial spray. Cheers to Afnan for consistently churning out quality, well-performing fragrances that are both mass-appealing with enough of a twist to stay interesting. This is a really, really good one.

If you want to smell Clean, Classy and really good grab it. Its very vers scent that can be used 4 seassons. No mater how you are dressed and where are you going. To the Gym to the Offoce to chill out or dinner. I have alot of fragrances and i use this one more often because of the vers profile. Jusr grab on the go and you smell amazing and unique. Many reviewers say its not unique and not something new. Well i cant agree with that. This parfume is really like the OG Cacharel and you cant buy this OG anymore. Also remind me in the top of the old original Loewe 7. So right now yea it ia unique because even the Loewe 7 is reformulated and compared to the OG this ia more close. I did test asked 20+ People Womens/Mens around me. All of them like it. Also got few for gifts and all of the people who recievw it loved it. This scent ia very potent and awesome performer. Alao mass appeling but not the borring Aventus, Hacivat DNA that everyone smell the same. It handle his own Mass appealing DNA.

This is an extremely high quality perfume! Very powerful, but completely refined... The opening reminds me of Cacharel pour homme, but at the same time comes a little smoky, oriental accord. This makes it powerful and even more special and not a clone of CPH! Compared to the usual oriental fragrances, it is more unique and sophisticated, but it has the durability of Arab perfumes! The bottle is also remarkable with decorative elements with an ancient atmosphere. And the box is lavish with the padded plush interior...... ATB is a high-end designer fragrance in the price range, but I think every puff is worth the price! For those who socialized on the scents of the 80s and 90s, this perfume could be the holy grail..... (Many places consider this type as "Tribute Blue", however, the word blue is not on the box or the bottle. The bottle itself is blue, which makes it different from the other elements of the tribute series.)

Gentlemen, this fragrance is amazing. I have over 120 fragrances in my collection and this has to be the first fragrance that i have worn for 4 days consistently. Vetiver and Incense are the main notes and a subtle musk. The Vetiver reminds me of Tom Fords Grey vetiver but with incense. That is what i get from this juice. I have the TF and the performance is not good at all however it smells fantastic. This Afnan Tribute blue fragrance outlast the TF by miles. Pure sophistication in a bottle. The performance, silage and longevity are top notch. I can smell it on clothes the day after. The scent trail is just awesome. My wife gave me a hug and she said she smells like me and this is after i came back from work late night. The quality of the juice is very high end. Crisp, clean masculine. This fragrance is not for young boys, this is fragrance is about class, power, sophistication and making a statement.

This is absolutely stellar, my favorite fragrance from Afnan. I would honestly classify this as a blue fragrance, but it's a different kind of take on it. This is a completely original creation as far as I can tell. There are shades of Loewe 7 Cobalt, but this is much stronger and longer lasting, and Loewe 7 Cobalt already has great performance. I also own Highness VI which adds a black currant note similar to Loewe 7 Cobalt, and just amps everything about Tribute to 11 and Tribute is already borderline nuclear. Highness VI is too strong for me, I have tried to wear it a few times during this frigid winter weather and it's nearly giving me a headache, RIP anyone over-spraying Highness VI in the Spring and Summer. I prefer Tribute to both aforementioned. Performance is insane, lasts 12+ hours on skin, huge projection with just 2-3 sprays (in sub-freezing weather).

Bois Imperial, which is a perfume 4 years later than Tribute Blue (and this perfectly illustrates that clone houses/dupe brands do not start specifically with Arab manufacturers), is much heavier, more intrusive, more static for me. Tribute Blue is a fairly well-made fragrance. A well-blended, well-balanced quality Fougéré, to which cashmere and musky notes were added. There is not much of anything in it, not intrusive, not synthetic. It has a delicate, high-quality, natural character. The nutmeg/pepper is perhaps the most striking from start to finish, but the fragrance itself changes constantly. I can only recommend it. (I am an independent user who is not supported by any brand/store, I just like perfumes with a particularly good price/value ratio. Be it an Arabic or Western brand.) Thanks for reading. :)

Overall a stunning masculine fresh and woody fragrance. The projection is nuclear and it WILL leave a scent trail. Here's some anecdotal evidence: I was sitting in the far corner of a large room. 10 minutes after I sat down, my friend walked in and said that he could smell me from the door. The downside of this is that it's rough around the edges for the first half hour or so. It can come off as overly musky/abrasive if you smell it up close. Be patient, give it time to settle, and you and others around you will get to enjoy this one of a kind scent. P.S. It's really not all that similar to ganymede. It's missing the mineral/leather vibe which defines ganymede. Tribute blue ventures in a different direction. Each is great in their own right.

This is gorgeous! Initially there's a burst of citric (bergamot?) notes, together with dry wood, which immediately reminds me of Grey Vetiver which I tested recently but ̶c̶a̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶a̶f̶f̶o̶r̶d̶ don't have, and remotely XX Artisan which is much more brightly citric and smokier with vetiver, and English Oak & Hazelnut‌ which has little citrus and much light and more introvert. Then it goes in its own direction. The the citric notes dininish and the softly spiced woody notes step forward. It does resemble the Loewe7 when I sniff close to the spot where I apply it on my skin. Spiced dry musky wood, tender, sandy and sexy! Holy... I gotta grab a backup bottle!

I met Afnan Ttribute blue perfume, which is one step closer to the legendary cacharel pour l'homme produced in 1981. I have 2 more cacharel similiar left that I don't have much hope of finding to add to the collection. Anyway, let's talk about Afnan. The fragrance is very sexy and the quality box bottle is a collectible item. A note in its content makes the perfume a great value. I don't quite understand what is it maybe nutmeg or cloves. this note was very prominent in the first produced cacharel pour homme. After 1990 that spirit disappeared. 2021 cacharel is a poor shadow . You can approach 1980's spirit with Afnan. I liked it very much.

I love this one. I get citrus, vetiver opening and mid, clean patchouli, and a musky amber in the dry down. Great office scent, similar occasions where you will wear Terre d'Hermes. Not as bright as TDH but not as dark as Encre Noir. After a few Afnans I came to the conclusion that this has to be one of the best middle eastern houses (if not "the best"), at pair with Rasasi. 3/26/22 (edit) Notes in fragrantica are wrong! In Afnan website notes listed are: Top Notes: Bergamot, Pimento, Nutmeg Middle Notes: Cashmere Wood, Amber Base Notes: Vetiver, Incense, Musk I kept sniffing a beautiful dark vetiver!!!...so I was right :)

I saw this fragrance by mistake on the internet. I immidiately became interested in it. The reviews are so few, like a secret. I went to a shop in my city, tried it and immidiately fell in love, im telling you guys this is a monster fragrance that girls will love AF. First time wearing it and i got a lot of compliments and people could smell it from the other room, its crazy strong. I recommend it for everyone that wants something special and something unique. Prices are a bit high but you get a full value for the money. Love it!

Nose Note #1026 I love how it's similar to Black Meisterstuck, but has a subtle citrus accord on top, which makes it more complex. But the vinyl/ebony/hot dry wood feeling is still there (it's my favourite part of the scent). Also this is stronger! So, just in short, it's amazing. I love this hot sauna dry wood scent. But it is not a mass appealing scent at all, so it's quite impressive that it has such a high rating. I'd say this is pretty niche. Men only. Pleasantly strong, but could be stronger. Sillage is moderate, 8.5/10

@ JusttheFactsMan Until you know for a fact that women won't be drawn to this scent, I think you should test it out first. I say this because just about every woman I've been in contact with that smelled this scent absolutely loved it, which is the only reason I'm posting this comment. Nevertheless, you seem to have an acute ability to pick up on the many nuances that come with evaluating fragrances, which I can appreciate! JB

I'm new to the game, and have been on the Aventus clone wagon for about a year now, as well as SMWater. I'm not familiar with what this is cloning, if it actually is, but if it isn't, how have I never heard of this??? Bottom line though, this is a steal for the price your paying, and trust me when I say you probably won't receive any complaints. Best "clone" I've smelled to date, and Afnan has yet to disappoint me!

It’s a mixed vibes of varying scent profiles. Somehow it reminds me of Encre Noire Sport, Azzaro Visit, CK Reveal, Montblanc Starwalker, a hint of Ganymede, etc. To me, it’s unique and a very interesting scent. In the dry down, there is this gorgeously masculine, woody and comforting whiff that I catch from time to time. A great addition to my collection I must say. Try before you buy 👍 8/10 🙂

This is such a lovely scent. Took me a day or two after taking it out of the box to really love it, as is the case for most fragrances I own. It is spicy, mature and masculine. I do not go nose blind to this, which I love, and I smell myself randomly when going about my business, which I also love. When not over sprayed, it is mild and leaves a presence. I will definitely recommend.

nan Tribute Blue opens with a refreshing and pleasant cool aroma. When you first test it, a dominant woody nuance comes forward, reminiscent of fragrances like Terathi Blue and Bvlgari Tygar. Its longevity and projection are impressive, especially considering the performance in the climate of Tehran, Iran.

Surprised to see that this is not more strongly associated with TF Grey Vetiver - similar vetiver and spice accords, but this one is deeper & more aromatic, where Grey Vetiver comes off with more citrus. A classy scent - highly underrated.

Blind bought this. It was the best one I got hands on. Very spicy and pepper at first. The dried down smell like campfires which is pretty masculine. Heard It discontinued, 8/10 would recommend to a friend.

Tested this on my skin last night. Very underrated scent from Afnan. I personally like this than supremacy in heaven. This reminds me of Montblanc Legend Spirit.

Interlude has nothing to do with this perfume. Great creation. Pepper, spices, woods, little bit floral and sweet base. It’s a vibe. Great performance, also.

Not really similar to Ganamede. And btw this was released 2 years prior to Ganamede. Def not a clone. Maybe very distant cousin Very potent, masculine scent.

I am very surprised that this isn’t talked about more. What a banger. 10/10 for sure, pure class, subtle and very long lasting.

This is the better version of Amouage Interlude 53; just replace oregano with vetiver. It shines in the air.

Grand stuff.... one of the few scents from Afnan that is not purportedly a clone as per its owner Imran Fazlani and one of their very best. There's a reason it was sold out in all of their outlets I visited, however managed to procure one after a long wait. It's worth it, this scent is not a freshie by any means and that's why it is special, it starts off fresh but then the musk, spicy and amber notes dominate throughout. The spicy feel is due to the pimento seeds, vetiver and incense. It is not amber heavy at all and well balanced. And yes it is not a clone of either Ganymede or Bois Imperial. This one is a sleeper, meaning you won't like it maybe when you first try it out, but it gets better with using, so the ingredients mesh well and the performance jumps. Maceration is the key.... All seasonal scent? I would say suitable for all sorts of weather Unisex? Masculine Blind buy worthy? I would recommend sampling due to the spicy, woody musky vibe Performance? Longevity, 9 hours easy and good projection, lasts on clothes far longer. I hung up a shirt I wore from yesterday and whenever I passed by I could catch a whiff of the alluring Afnan tribute blue

It's pretty special. It reminds me of a marketplace at a cultural crossroads. In particular I smelled something similar in the air at the big swap meets during the late 80s in Southern Cal. Also at other community events and festivals. It's arab but very Vietnamese oriental in my associations. Flowers, herbs, Incense, mossy woods, dry woods, smoky peaty vetiver, fabrics... This one took me some time to appreciate. It has a weathered, mysterious vibe. It's vetiver dominant but there is alot going on with it. It stays busy. I have alot of vetiver frags and I'm happy to have this one also. I have wonderful scent association with this one. I love adventuring through books and this can be a great companion. I was surprised to have this scent remind me of; The Kite Runner. A great read that I can't say enough about. This scent smells like it's been through some stuff and has stories to tell. This smoky peaty vetiver incense is very nice. Very old fashioned without the aldehydes but it's still a bomb.

They were going for ganymede but then they stopped and took a more spicier route, and i will have to say this is actually better than ganymede and more masculine, this is not unisex. 1st off i do not like ganymede, it smells like a curd dish with spices(raita) served in indian restaurants, i cant bring myself to wear it since it is the exact copy of that dish(raita), i am indian, and this dish is common for me. tribute blue has the similar vibe to ganymede but with the curd scent toned down, there was someone here who told that its like sauvage elixir, that is not true but elixir and tribute blue are of the same category, meaning hyper masculine mature scent. in summary, this is ganymede with the spices amped up and the "mineral"(curd) note tone down, this is more wearable than ganymede. update 11/Sep/2022 this is actually a tom ford grey vetiver clone amped to 11

It is a fragrance that you will not regret having in your collection. It is in the middle of many proposals, which is good because it covers a range of sensations, while it is bad because it is not defined: Somewhat fuguere, somewhat blue, somewhat spicy (too much), vintage and modern. The projection and duration are excellent. A recommendable purchase for those over 40 years old with only one complaint, which does not detract from its value: the lack of personality: if I smell it blind I would not recognize it.

I got a sample of this with an order and it blew me away. The opening is a little bit of a synthetic chemical mess, but the drydown is something else. I got a compliment within two seconds of walking into a building, which has never happened to me. It's hard to describe, fairly unique, and can be worn year-round. It's an ambroxan, bergamot, vetiver, and patchouli muskiness that is somehow reminiscent of more of a summer version of Oud for Greatness without the oud or Light Blue Forever without the grapefruit.

IMHO, this is basically a less potent Sauvage Elixir. I actually enjoy it a little more since I'm not constantly being hit with liquorice/herbal vibes. I have no idea why that isn't the top "reminds me of" fragrance. Probably a top pick for men from Afnan. Overall: 8/10. Good for most use cases, though I wouldn't wear it in the middle of summer. Edit: The dry down is very much like Versace Eau Friache, but not as punchy. Which is a good thing. It's kind of like Mont Blanc Starwalker, but with longevity.

If you like a pepper and dry wood forward fragrance, you'll love this. its a bit sharp at first, I think it smells best on clothes a couple days after its sprayed (it lasts foreverrr which is rare for this style of fragrance in my experience). in the same vein as cdg Kyoto, loewe 7, cdc black pepper.

This perfume is a woodier version of bois imperial perfume in my opinion specially in mid note. Dry down is completely the same as BI. BI has better performance and nicer top note. Considering the price, it is a good perfume. In fact, it is a good option as an economic version of Boise Imperial.

If you're having a hard time finding this one, it is quite similar to Afnan Highness VI (Blue). That one is a little more citrus and a little less spice but overall very similar.

@Blackryder: that would be a great suggestion mate, but the prices are poles apart! The highness series easily goes above USD 250, while the Tribute Series hovers round USD 70

#1094 in my "Tour de Fragrance" There's a lot here that reminds me Highness VI, a blue scent I wasn't impressed with and gave away. But the addition of cashmere, incense and pimento here makes a big difference, especially in the opening, keeping this from being just another Afnan frag with nasty synthetic bergamot. I think this is okay. I don't love it. But it's wearable, just not something I'd buy twice. There are literally dozens of scents, including by Afnan, that come off just like this. I think it's primarily for office wear, maybe beach wear. But I don't think women are going to smell this and be particularly attracted by it. It just comes of clean and crisp, but nothing special.

It had a note that I didn’t like so I offloaded it to my brother in law who loves it. Horses for courses!

Nutmeg and fresh clean laundry type musk.

Afnan Tribute Blue offers a very good value if you are looking for a high performing fresh, spicy, musky vetiver that lies somewhere between old school powerhouse and modern aromachemical alchemy. Despite a fairly sharp and spiky opening, it's well blended, with most of the listed notes not dominating, rather serving the song. The exceptions to my nose here are the musk, the sharp, grassy vetiver and the spices in the top/heart. First off, the musk in this is very strong! I've read that musks are tricky to many noses, with many being anosmic to certain types, and perfumers will often put multiple types in to try to make sure at least one "musk box" is checked. Not sure what's going on here, but the musk(s?) is potent and long lasting. Not a laundry musk here, but more of a warm yet fresh body musk. I get the nod to Azzaro Visit here, as that has a similar musk, mixed with vetiver, spices, and scratchy aromachem woods. The vetiver here is sharp and grassy, and has a little bit of a cooling effect that some vetivers can have. Vetiver is a bit of an enigma to me, as it smells completely different depending on the type of vetiver used, and how it interacts with the blend. Haitian, Java, and Indian vetiver oils smell completely different to me, and then vetiveryl acetate just further complicates things, as it also has it's own thing going. Anyway, the vetiver here feels somewhere between an Indian vetiver and vetiveryl acetate, as it's sharp, grassy, and clean but not super earthy or smoky like Haitian or Java can be. Somewhat similar in effect to Tom Ford Grey Vetiver or Bois Imperial, but I would never confuse those and this smells very different overall. The vetiver in Encre Noire feels far sharper and starker, Tribute Blue it's slightly warmer and filled out. It's hard to explain but I think both Bois Imperial and this both have a strange "vibration" to them (and I mean that literally, not like vibes, man) that is at the same time alluring yet slightly alien and chemical. Very interesting and unique, but could be off putting to some. This is a bit smoother than Bois Imperial, and less static-y spiky. It becomes fresh and spicy, yet warm and smooth and basically stays pretty linear after the first hour. Performance is impressive in both, with Afnan projecting for hours and lasting on as a skin scent for 12+. As I fear I have already said too much, I will end by saying this is pretty interesting and worth checking out if you like or love Grey Vetiver, Bois Imperial, Encre Noire, Loewe 7, or Azzaro Visit. It's not a clone or replacement for any of these, but smells unique and will appeal to fans of vetiver scents that offer some depth and contrasting notes.

I lIke this one a lot, perfect blend of citrus , black pepper, woods and mildly smoky vetiver that has absolutely nothing in common with Encre Noir . Excellent for the spring and summer but if you like it and in the need of exactly the same scent but with stronger and muskier base notes go for Afnan Highness VI (blue), they are both excellent but it might be redundant to own both if you’re not in love with the scent. I’ve seen reviewer comparing it to a ‘bug spray’ but loving Tribute Black ( which is awesome but less potent version of Montale’s Oud Lime )

I went to an Essenza Store (in my Country) recently to sniff this. What I caught first is this strong Vetiver note, citrusy notes and a smokey facet as the fragrance wore on. This is clearly a Vetiver-themed fragrance that's unique. I'm definitely buying this perfume this soon! Sadly, Fragrantica Pyramid breakdown is quite misleading! Comparisons to Loewe 7 are on point. It's an incense-vetiver that may smell "like chemicals" to people not used to incense fragrances or really grassy vetivers. Overall pretty nice, but just like Loewe 7, it's not the most people-pleasing scent out there. Definitely more mature and for people who are bored by mall scents.

Believe me when i tell u every middle eastern house has a fragrance that smells like this, spicy musky with a touch of citrus! Some r bold and some r soft! Im sure ppl who dont have much experience with ME scents will find it extraordinarily good, but living in the Middle East believe me its every bit normal.

Spicy, woody and masculine. Reminiscent of 80s powerhouse fragrances. I applied some of this after my shower last night and man, this stuff lingers! It's now 11 hours later and I just got hit with a waft to the face when I got out of bed! Very impressive!
