Turathi Blue

This is my second Turathi. Batch - 07 / 24. One of our regular reviewers has already written about it, so let's start with this - Tygar is not a unique perfume that should be cloned (!)... but if the market demands it, it's natural that such fragrances will eventually appear. Turathi, Theoreme, Al Qiam Silver, Bronzite, JL Immortal... Afnan Turathi costs the same as Lattafa and Maison Alhambra, they are about $3 - 5 more expensive than Rue Broca. They all smell the same, slightly synthetic, without exception... but among them, Turathi is, in my opinion, the least offensive, it is the most wearable, nice and has the best parameters. Parameters are little better than Lattafa, little better than Afnan's sub-brand Rue Broca (but this one is very close...) and much more better than the other rivals. The slightly synthetic opening is definitely less synthetic than in many other popular Arabic citrus perfumes. After a few months, this opening will smooth out anyway. I like the smell of citrus, but this smells more like a lemonade, citrus sparkling drink....which is nice for me. That's why it's peaceful and no one will accuse you of having bad taste. Just an idea for the summer. It's a little sweet and it's slightly sour, 2 in 1. I am very glad that this is not the full interpretation of the grapefruit scent that our friends from the UAE can offer us. I definitely prefer this way out of this difficult situation than the terribly artificial, harsh opening that we encounter in many other cases. So I appreciate Afnan's interpretation. It's also not the most natural, but at least no one convinces us from the very beginning that what we smell is a real grapefruit or other citrus. And I appreciate it. Lemonade, very pleasant... that's it. This is a very clever solution to the problem. As I have already written, this is not a clone, let's treat it as a different scent, a different proposition. It's just some inspiration, your own idea and the resulting savings, as shown by the price. "Citruses" are rather delicate and stay with us until the very end. When we get to the base notes, then... mainly sweet amber and some woody notes, but also musk/ambroxan and patchouli complement each other nicely and the light citrus note is beautifuly wrapped in them. I didn't find any harsh spices. Summa summarum, the scent itself is pleasantly surprising, it's not Bulgari and rather not very similar to BdC. Typical summer scent, but it's not a clone. Delicate but with good projection. We feel fresh and at ease, nothing about this frag really bothers us. The beach, a walk on the promenade, one little drink in a restaurant by the sea. I will write even more - you can use it at work or during less formal meetings, it will not offend anyone. As is the case with many other Arabic perfumes, this time you should remember that - 1. Let's subject it to so called "home maceration" for a period of 4 - 8 months... so it's best to buy it in November. It will be good enough in May or June. This is just common sense planning for perfumes from the UAE. We pay so little and then, after 10 - 15 sprays our frags just mature in the cupboard, that's all. It's not a great feat, but the results can be very surprising. We can do the same with autumn and winter fragrances... let's buy them in February or March and wait until October. It's simple, pure savings. 2. In the case of Turathi, after spraying, wait 5-10 minutes until the scent becomes more refined and then present it to the whole world. 😉 These are one of the least synthetic Arabic summer perfumes... they are no more artificial than many other, much more expensive similar fragrances from well-known brands... so there is nothing to be ashamed of. 3. If You live in moderate climate, Afnan will be great from early June to mid-September. That's all. Good Luck. 👍

First, gentlemen, many of you are misusing two very important fragrance terms, "maceration" and "maturation." While similar, they are not the same. MaCERation occurs in a vessel in the perfume house and is part of the formulation process. And, like wine, maTURation occurs in the bottle and is accelerated when some oxygen enters the headspace to displace the juice sprayed. Thus endeth the lesson. Onto the review. I can think of a thousand things I'd rather do with $500US than purchase a bottle of Bvlgari Tygar, but... I wanted to experience something similar to that legendary OG fragrance so I purchased Afnan Turathi Blue blind. As with many Middle Eastern fragrances, Turathi Blue was a little rough out of the box. But the first wearing, even in its immature infancy, was absolutely intoxicating. After a few minutes the sharp edges softened, and as it dried down it became a luscious, beautiful, uplifting experience while still remaining appropriately masculine. Every time I wear it, it becomes even smoother and more compelling. The opening is now even more delightful than the drydown. And it just keeps getting better! It's winter here now and I can't wait to smell it again next spring after it comes out of hibernation and has matured even more. (Oh, WTF, writing this has me pining for it so I went and took a couple of hits, LOL.) According to acquaintances and my own observations retracing my paths in the hallways, the sillage is impressive. Longevity could be greater, but that just delays the opportunity to re-spray and enjoy once again that wonderful citrus opening. I like it so much I've purchased two additional bottles. When I estimate that I've got a couple months left in the first, I'll break out bottle #2 and wear it a couple of times then put it away to grow-up some while I finish bottle #1. Ohmygoodness I love this fragrance. Here's hoping you do as well. I went a little nuts and purchased several other Tygar inspirations: Rue Broca Théorème Homme, Maison Alhambra Sceptre Bronzite, Lattafa Al Qiam Silver, and Paris Corner North Stag Expressions I Un. All four are REALLY good, but I still prefer the Turathi Blue. In order of preference: 1 - Turathi Blue 2 - Théorème Homme (A REALLY close 2nd, almost a tie for 1st) 3 - Al Qiam Silver 4 - North Stag Expressions I Un 5 - Sceptre Bronzite. My excellent experience with Turathi Blue was SO positive that I purchased the masculine-leaning Turathi Brown and the unisex Turathi Electric. The Turathi Brown is every bit as wonderful as the Turathi Blue and will sustain me through the colder months. I've already penned a glowing review here on that one. The jury is still out on the Turathi Electric. I'm not quite sure I understand that one yet. I'll try it again come warmer weather and see how that one matures. It may be as simple as... as an old-school gentleman I just prefer the masculine scents over the unisex.

Afnan Turathi Blue opens with a fresh grapefruit that balances sweetness with a slight bitter edge, keeping it from becoming candy-like. The grapefruit immediately reminded me of the style of Sospiro Vibrato, while subtle spices around the edges added definition. The citrus has a denser, juicy quality sitting over an airy base, creating an opening that feels fresh without being thin. As it develops, the grapefruit becomes smoother and less sweet, settling into a balanced sweet-tart profile over a dry woody backbone. Ambroxan gradually moves to the forefront, blending the citrus and woods into a cohesive whole. While the overall DNA remains reminiscent of Vibrato, the texture is noticeably different. Where Vibrato leans powdery and musky, Turathi Blue is smoother, woodier, and more ambroxan-driven. That also makes it feel more reserved, with a softer projection that I think better suits this style of fragrance, especially in warmer weather. The drydown continues in the same direction as the grapefruit slowly blends into the base before eventually fading away. What remains is a smooth combination of dry woods, ambroxan, and a light musk. The fragrance gradually fades over the final few hours without introducing any major changes, finishing as a clean woody musky scent. Longevity was around 6.5 hours. Overall, this was a very enjoyable take on the Vibrato/Tygar style of fragrance. I’ve worn Vibrato but not Tygar, and Turathi Blue captures a similar grapefruit-forward DNA while carving out its own identity through its drier, woodier, ambroxan-focused structure. My wife thought it smelled like bug spray, though she said the same thing about Vibrato, so I don’t view that as a reflection of Turathi Blue’s quality. Considering the price, this is an excellent value and a great spring and summer fragrance with more versatility than expected thanks to the ambroxan and woody elements. Score: 8.5/10

A really good scent, especially for the warmer months and the gym. For the pocket change it costs this is a great offering. But it comes with a word of warning; I purchased this at the start of the year and was extremely disappointed, just a very powerful alcoholic brew with no discernable notes! With little to no hope of improvement I popped it away in the maceration/maturation box at the back of a dark cupboard with several other scents ranging from cheapies to high end! Last week I pulled it out for a try and it has truly developed into something I couldn't have imagined upon purchase. Sparking citrusy grapefruit opens then is promptly joined by woods, amber and a lovely gentle musk that stays with the grapefruit for the duration of its easy 7+ hours of service. The first couple of which will give a solid projection of over a metre. The bottle is awful, top heavy cap is rubbish but the sprayer is ok. Not that this stuff particularly bothers me if the scent is worthwhile, in this case it definitely is! If you want a decent fragrance at a great price..... eventually, with better than average performance then this could be for you. Age and gender aren't really an issue as it's just a nice aroma that can be worn casually most of the year but lovely in the heat and will do a solid job for most activities. Genuinely worthy of purchase if you don't mind waiting for a bit!

I'll start by saying the box and bottle are majestic!! truly impressive for the price i got this (about 30€!) now the first seconds after spraying were... interesting it starts off with a blast of synthetic mandarin or blood orange smell that reminds me of the classic PEZ candy from my childhood (which i don't really like) after a few seconds..WOW! sweet,boozy and plumy is the best i can describe this, very well blended. Manly but playful, sweet but serious. Sillage is good, projection is okay (for a couple hours), definitely not beast mode but also very inoffensive and not cloying in any way. It will linger for days on fabric, and at least 12-15 hours as a skin scent. This is a real steal if you can get this for under 40 euros. I also feel you can wear this year round and i'd prefer to wear this on a summer night rather than on a hot summer day. I don't really get the strong citrus other people seem to get here, at least not after a few minutes. Might be the batch or my nose. Last but not least i think this is not 100% blind buy safe. I tried this on some of my colleagues and comments ranged from "WOW!!" to "i smelled like a pakistani gentleman for 2 days" My opinion in numbers: Scent: 9/10 Projection/Sillage: 6/10 Duration: 7.5/10 Batch Number: THB/5097/18494 Production Date: 10/25 Expiration Date: 10/30 A good buy imo

Ancak bu yazdıklarımın hedef kitlelerini çektiğini kabul etmeliyim çünkü çok satıyorlar. Çoğu designer ve popüler markaları taklit ediyor. Çünkü onlar daha populer ve aranıyor. Nis alana her Dubai markasi bir şekilde girmiş.. Afnan esans kalitesi çoğuna gore iyi olan bir marka. Sayısız saçma sapan paefumleri olsa da Turathi oldukça başarılı olmus. Bu parfüm Tygar a benzemiyor, ama andırıyor. Ancak bu kotu bir sonuç vermemiş ve ortaya oldukça iyi bir parfum cikmis. Tygar ın üst düzey kalite hissi veren fresh tarafi Turathi de biraz odunsu tarafa eğilmiş. Kesinlikle kötü olmamis aksine harika olmus. Kalıcılık ve dagilim oldukça iyi. Fiyatına gore bence "harika" diyebileceğimiz bir parfüm. Yine tasarim faciası ağır kapagi olmasa şişe de idare eder sınıfına geçer. Fresh ama kolonya gibi olmayan, genel beğeniye yönelik ama her kose başında koklayamayacaginiz, gun boyunca kalıcılık istiyorsanız ve bunlara da en fazla 2500 tl veririm diyorsanız aradığınız parfümü buldunuz. What can I say about this fragrance? It's honestly amazing. The opening is absolutely delicious, and the dry-down is even better. It develops into a beautiful, clean scent that keeps getting smoother as the hours go by. Even after 8 hours, I could still smell it on my skin, and somehow it smelled even better than when I first applied it. I haven't had the chance to smell Bvlgari Tygar, so I can't comment on how close they are. However, from what I've heard, they're very similar. To my nose, it smells like a perfected version of Bleu de Chanel. It has that fresh, clean, blue character, but with a unique twist that makes it stand out. Considering the price, this fragrance is an absolute steal. It easily smells ten times more expensive than it actually is, and I can genuinely see it becoming someone's signature scent. I've found myself reaching for it constantly over the past few days, and every time I wear it, I'm reminded of just how well-made it is. Afnan really nailed this one. Kudos to them for realising bangers. If you're looking for an affordable fresh blue scent with fantastic performance this is definitely it!!

I am surprised by how gorgeous this smells, absolutely not expected. I was lucky enough to try Tygar a while ago in person, and since then I have wanted to get my hands on it or something similar, and I was pleased to find Turathi Blue at Burlington for 35$. I sprayed it in the car and immediately fell in love. It took me back to when I first tried Tygar, the sparkly grapefruit, followed by the almost soap-like musk sent me to another world; however, it is not 100%. Tygar does explicitly state that it uses Ambroxan, which does create an almost creamy sensation adding a significantly smoother texture rather than the musks used in Turathi Blue; sure, you can't get 100% close to Tygar, but damn is this close. Also, creating an identical clone by the master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud is also a considerable challenge as his perfumes are incredibly distinct, with him creating the most beautiful and smoothest perfumes I have ever smelled. Although this perfume is not 1:1, it does scratch my itch for obtaining the holy grail of Tygar, and I am incredibly happy.

Well....I’ve been reading a lot about this one and decided to give it a try.... It’s 95% similar to Tygar, but smells a little bit harsher. Tygar is much softly, gentle, gives you the luxury touch and feeling, while Thurathi gets compliments cheaply and is mass appealing. Thurathi is more synthetic, more loud than elegant, but is nice for daily wear and it’s an awesome bargain for its price. Longevity is awesome strong, I get between 8-10 hrs on my skin. Also, I believe it’s a good blind buy. I have all 3 same citrusy DNA fragrances: Tygar, Vibrato and Thurati Blue: * Tygar is the best fragrance from the citrusy class...smooth, delicate, elegant, luxurious and quite long lasting (depends on each one’s skin PH) * Vibrato is an excellent banger for all ocassions and attracts compliments, lasts the longest on skin and clothes from the 3 ones * Thurati is the best clone, in terms of scent and longevity, closest one to Tygar and an awesome deal if you don’t have the money to go for Bulgari. I give it a 8/10 from a quality, price and longevity POV, I like it.

Turathi Blue is probably the best compliment getter I have tried in the budget-friendly category. It opens very fresh, bright and citrusy, mostly with that grapefruit-style freshness, but it does not feel like a basic shower gel fragrance. After a few minutes, the amber, musk, woods, spices and a little patchouli give it more depth, so it becomes cleaner, smoother and more masculine. For me, this is definitely a safe blind buy. It smells fresh, modern and attractive, but still has enough character to stand out. It is great for dates, going out, warmer weather or any situation where you want to smell clean but not boring. Performance is also very good for the price; it lasts longer than many fresh fragrances and leaves a nice scent trail without being too loud. Overall, Turathi Blue smells much more expensive than it is and easily feels like one of the smartest buys in this price range.

This is a wonderful cologne, people are crazy when they say it disappears in 10 or 30 minutes. I truly believe they become nose blind. This cologne, even though some call it a beast it doesn’t overpower the people around you, but they surely can smell you. To me this is a very barbershop type of cologne. Some say it’s linear but if you stick with it, it does evolve overtime. I can tell you this I put it on in the morning. We drove to a shopping center about a half hour from our house, we spent about an hour and a half shopping and when we got back in the car, the car still smelled like the cologne. I would rate this cologne, a nine out of 10. And the only reason I didn’t give it a 10 is the bottle has a very small footprint and can be knocked over really easy. But if you want a signature cologne or a cologne you can wear anywhere anytime this is it.

Simply put - fizzy grapefruit and blood orange with musk and some spices. I believe the citrus and the musk/spice combine to create a gingery effect reminiscent of the original. Despite the simple note breakdown, this is a unique scent profile where I can't say I've smelled anything similar to it before (apart from tygar and vibrato obviously) A lot of people are saying performance is average, but on me, this feels almost nuclear (batch: july/2025) One of the very few Arabic clones I've tried where there are no distinct rough edges, smooth from beginning to end, although some might find it slightly synthetic in a similar way to erba pura, not nearly as bad though. Does not smell anything like Bleu de Chanel btw 10/10, got it for around $50 but would pay $100+ easily for the same juice if it didn't exist

What an absolute performer. Turathi Blue opens with a vibrant, zesty citrus and ginger note that is incredibly refreshing. But the drydown is where this fragrance truly shines. It manages to stay fresh while evolving into a smooth blend of woods and patchouli that lasts ages on the skin and practically forever on clothes. My bottle has been macerating for a few months now, and it has settled beautifully. I recently did a side-by-side test on paper strips with several other fresh scents. Turathi Blue was the only one still going strong days later. There’s no 'synthetic Arabian funk' here. Just a high quality, smooth blend. It works wonders on fabric. I sprayed it on a linen jacket and it’s still there. Easily one of the best 'Blue' fragrances in my collection.

People have left some negative reviews of this fragrance which I find interesting because there is a young gentleman at work who whenever he wears this, he comes into work smelling absolutely amazing, and the scent does generally follow him wherever he goes and continues to smell wonderful long into the shift. Definitely one on my list to get the Hubby. My experience with Afnan fragrances is they are generally very good quality with great longevity. I'm wondering if those who experience this fragrance as synthetic and then disappearing haven't allowed the fragrance to mature (some say 'macerate') in a drawer for a good length of time, semi-regularly spraying out a few sprays every so often...

This smells 85% similar to sospiro vibrato to my nose. The only thing I don't get in turathi blue is the fresh spice in the opening from the ginger/green notes in vibrato. After it dries down, I'd say it is 90% close. If you're on a budget, turathi blue definitely comes close enough to vibrato. I can't say how it compares to Tygar since I haven't smelled that one. I did 8 sprays of this in the morning, ended up at the office 6 hours later, and a coworker said it smelled strong and told me to spray less. So I'd say you can get away with around 5-6 sprays and be good for the whole day. Turathi blue and vibrato have such an addicting scent profile, and I can't get enough of either of them.

To me Turathi blue makes Vibrato redundant. Had the chance to try out vibrato and while I think it’s great scent, turathi blue is almost identical but a lot stronger. Never tried Tygar though so can’t comment on that. Now about Turathi Blue: this fragrance is grapefruity and musky, also woody but the grapefruit note and the muskiness is what hits you first. A well macerated bottle can be strong enough that you only need 3-4 sprays to create an arm length aura around you. The longevity is fine as well, I would say depending on the weather and skin chemistry, it’s around 6-8 hours. One of the biggest deals on the market.

You need to spray this one several times and let it sit for a month. When I first tried it, it smelled cheap and headache inducing. I think it was the grapefruit scent that needed to mellow out some. Now, I smell the grapefruit like it’s supposed to be, and the musk comes behind it and gives a strong support to the citrus. I think it’s somewhat linear, but I like that the grapefruit lasts so long. I’m a big fan now that it’s matured. It’s not a traditional blue scent like you’d expect. It’s not soapy or watery. It’s more effervescent and zingy.

I absolutely love this fragrance. I had a bottle a while ago and worked through it pretty quickly. For my birthday my GF gifted me this again and I couldn't be happier. This is not only one of my favorite frags but hers as well. It is fresh and easy to wear. I love this scent when it is hot out with a slight breeze. When comparing this to the originals this is cloning there is a slight drop off in performance but for 1/5th the price, I would much rather have this and overspray/decant than pay the premium.

Turathi Blue is the ultimate definition of an elegant, sexy, and incredibly versatile fragrance. Even though it has a rich, captivating depth, it works phenomenally well as a fresh summer scent. This is masculinity in a bottle—and trust me, the ladies absolutely love it! 😉😀 When it comes to performance, it easily lasts 5 to 6 hours on skin, but on clothes, it’s a whole different beast. If you spray it on your clothes, it will literally keep your entire wardrobe smelling amazing for days.

New favorite freshie after some time with it, hated it at first smelled bad but macerating a month later it smelled so much better like everything blended together better and gets better and stronger still as time goes by. My friend has tygar and couldn’t believe that this smelled so good he bought it immediately lol I sprayed it once and he kept telling me that it was projecting I was laughing lol haven’t worn it enough to get compliments with like Lattafa fakhar or rayhaan aquatica
