Sacré Bleu

The beauty of fragrance is that everyone experiences it differently, that being said when I went to look for reviews of this fragrance I initially saw the review of have_a_nice_tea and was shocked! The notes sounded so lovely on the website and so I almost didn't order - I'm so glad I did. I love blue lotus and I have a hard time finding it in fragrances and have been looking for something to replace my bottle of Garden of Dendera by Flore and I think this is it! I did smell the somewhat "pissy" note when I first sprayed but it almost immediately disappeared and settled into such a lovely floral tea fragrance. It is very light on my skin and it's a must have for me.

Ughhhhh what is this opening?! Edit: We should talk about the drydown first. Once it settles, it’s a calm blend of tea notes, a faint trace of blue lotus, and a soft sandalwood base. There’s a slight animalic thread — something not far from cat urine — but it's kept under control by the floral and tea elements, resulting in a meditative, essential oil-like impression. However, the opening is another matter. It amplifies the animalic facet to an almost comic extreme, creating something reminiscent of a neglected litter box mixed with damp musks, possibly natural ambergris? It’s not an easy introduction, and frankly, it's enough to make one reconsider ever applying it again. Those who survive the first ten minutes will find something much more agreeable underneath.
