This is one of those fragrances that is more the sum off its parts than individual notes. It goes on quite fresh and spicy. As it dries down, it loses some of the initial spiciness and becomes a little earthy, a touch bitter and a tad soapy. It’s green with some light citrus on a dry base, there’s also a slight creaminess in the background. I do get some saltiness from the ambergris but I can’t say I get much smoke or floral notes as others do, although it’s so beautifully blended that everything merges into one handsome fragrance. It reminds me of a classic men’s aftershave but more refined. Some may see it as not daring enough but I like this very much. I tried Giardinodiercole at the same time and although there are some similarities, they significantly diverge in the drydown with the latter becoming warmer and sweeter. Fairly versatile and reasonable performance with good longevity and moderate projection. I wish it was a little stronger. I love the scent so much, I want to smell more of it. The bottle and presentation box are works of art although I question the £300 cost. I’ve just discovered this brand as it’s only just become available in the UK at Bloom perfumery. I’m impressed with the two I’ve tried so far and will look forward to testing some of the others in the collection. Edit: the more I wear this, the more I appreciate it. Some might see this has having designer sensibilities, being less unique as some of the others in their collection but I think it’s much more interesting than any designer fragrance and it suits me very well. I appreciate the subtle nuances and its clean, spicy, earthy character. More of a classic, gentleman’s scent I’d say but wonderfully done. I just really, really like this fragrance.

#1148 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. My second from Agatho. 195AC was a hit with me, as is this one. But every time I look at an Agatho Parfums bottle I see the little mushroom guy "Toad" from the "Mario Brothers" video game. It doesn't completely ruin the experience, but I'm sure that's not the image they want to convey with the bottles in their "Pompei Collection", especially after Stormy Daniels told the world "Toad" is what Donald Trump's...never mind. A heavy pimento note ruined Tom Ford's "Grey Vetiver" for me and I gave it away. But pimento actually adds something very positive to the mix in this scent. It's a distinct note for sure. It doesn't overwhelm the scent, but it does give it a more spicy and masculine lean, and combines with the incense to add a little sharpness that projects nicely but doesn't get offensive. I haven't encountered anything quite like it and a notes search also turned up nothing similar. This is more formal wear to me. Suit and tie business, dress up dinner out, night at the performing arts center kind of stuff. It's another great scent from Agatho. It will be a bottle buy for me.

Niche aroma, and worth the money. Quick description: flared spicy notes with gentle woodsy hints and dash of incense This frag isnt for the faint of heart and you have be a certain type of person to wear it. My friend who smelled it said thats like a three-piece-suit-formal-type-of-fragrance. After an hour of cool down all the notes settled into a wonderfully married conglomeration (noting a previous comment that said its the sum of its parts). I love when people review perfumes as hypothetical experiences— so I’ll do one: Think: Italian spring of the early 1930s, your rich friend paid for both of you to go. You both smoked a morning pipe, had a grapefruit take away the tobacco taste, and went for a quick walk to an old tuscan chapel. In the corner there is a simmering thurible. Its barely smoking but what you get is a hint of cedar, as well as an oriental incense or spiced myrrh. But think of it all as a frozen moment and not individual things. Overall: 10/10 Projection: 12/10 One of my favorites

Tad bit smoky but not incensy in any oriental sense, peppery, spicy, woody, a tiny hint of soapiness, aldehydic, green, a touch of citrus. Great scent for professional settings. It is on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients without a doubt reflects the price. I was able to get it heavily discounted. My goodness what a beautiful masculine scent. 10/10. Unbelievable longevity. Does not project like crazy and not an in your face sort of scent. It will never wear you and I absolutely adore fragrances that are able to achieve airiness along with great longevity. Italian perfumery has beautiful quality ingredients. Very traditionally masculine, but hey wear whatever you want! This is my quintessential office frag!!! Agatho is expensive, but this brand is being CRIMINALLY slept on.

It is overpriced for what it is, incense has been done much better in many better tweaks or in its full rawness. This one opens up promising but incense gets lost into the cashmeran-Iso E Super-oakmoss-patchouli and amberwood accord that is somewhat reminiscent of Oud for Greatness without saffron or as said Loewe 7 which is one of the reference incense concotions. When Loewe 7 exists you must be crazy to pay asking price to this yet-another-“out of nowhere”-brand.

The incense green perfume that I always idealized, dreamed of and thought didn't exist. a masterpiece. After years in niche perfumery, I felt a sensation I hadn't felt in years, that of being mesmerized by a scent. Addictive. Longevity - 9/10 Sillage - 8/10 Smell - 11/10

Get ready for a burst of cedar, incense, grapefruit, tuberose, and magnolia in the initial hit. As it settles, you’ll notice the pear, incense toned down, and everything else harmonizing. It’s reminiscent of a fresh green pepper or something similar. When I close my eyes, I can’t help but imagine this is what a barbershop in Italy smells like. It’s not just a barbershop scent; it’s an Italian experience. I also think it appeals more to a mature crowd. If you’re looking for a seasonal fragrance, spring is the way to go. The green and wood notes evoke the feeling of a lush green field. And let me tell you, this fragrance lasts a long time—a whole day without a doubt. Overall, it’s worth trying. The bottle is very unique and beautifully crafted as well.

This is nice enough, it's well blended and smooth but it's just not terribly interesting. It does smell hella expensive and it lasts aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages as an incensey skin scent. I only got a hint of tobacco in the opening sadly. I'd say it was a safe blind buy if you like classic masculine scents and are a millionaire.

Its a nice smell but seems rather safe. A smell for any occasion but not as interesting as Agathos 195 a C.

This is a perfume of the grapefruit+herbs+cedar variety that crowds our retail shelves in tonnage amounts. The opening: sulfurous grapefruit, and cedar. The heart: citruses with a slight floral lean, and cedar. The dry down: a touch of vague incense with - you guessed it! - a ton and a half of cedar. Each section of the perfume shifts so minutely that you cannot tell much of a difference between the grapefruit in the opening and the metallic citrus in the heart, as an example. Fauno is a commercial perfume - crude, boring, and highly derivative bordering on cynical - with niche branding, longevity, and pricing. Firm pass.

i really only get cedar and grapefruit. smells like a floor cleaner.

This was the third fragrance from the house that I tried, and like the other two, I didn’t enjoy it either. I found it rather simple, with a lot of synthetic materials. Overall, it really didn’t appeal to me.

Hmmm. So... I like this. I REALLY like it. But... Farrque below me says it smells like spicy shower gel. Quite right. I've bought spicy shower gels like this. I think one was by Molton Brown. Philball says slightly soapy. Yup. As for notes... Woody - yes. Spicy in a generic way, yes. Tobacco... Maybe a little. A bit like Loewe 7? Yes, a bit. Incense, no. Not even slightly. I am an incense nut, and simply, no. Not incense like Majd Al Sultan, or Gucci PH1. Or, indeed, any major incense scent. Magnolia? Give me a break. I have a mahoosive magnolia in bloom right outside my front door as I write. It smells of precisely nothing. Certainly, nothing like this. Galbanum? A bit. In a slightly soapy way. Yet I do like it a lot. But I can't possibly buy it. It's interesting and engaging, but it's insanely priced and not all that original. This is never going to be anyone's signature scent, certainly not a perfume whore like me. I will never use up all my current perfume. For this reason, I couldn't pay this much money for 100 mls. This ain't cheap, and it's very lovely, but it's a very lovely shower gel bastard child of Loewe 7 scent. And it's £150. Pull yourself together. 30ml? For £30? Yup, I'd buy it. I bet their website has an "our story" tab.

A niche well blended masculine leaning scent, dominated by bergamont, pettigrain and settles to a soft incense suede. A very gentlemanly scent for suiting up for a grand evening. TOP - Pompelmo, Bergamotto, Artemisia, Arancia dolce, Foglie di tabacco, Acceti fumosi MID - Gelsomino, Pimento, Pettigrain, Tuberosa, Baache di Ginepro, Salvia Sciarea BASE - Ambra, Olibanum Legno Cedro, Suede, Patchouli

Cardamom, saline aquatic notes, basil, bell pepper skins, hint of leather, heated sandalwood incense, soapy notes, earthy patchouli and pink pepper. Strange one, but I would suggest this for fans of the aromatic shower gel type of scents.

Smells exactly like certain shave gels I've had in the past, couldn't name them though. I do like it, but definitely smells familiar
