Giardinodiercole

Tauer's L'Air du Desert Marocain has long been considered to be a masterpiece by many enthusiasts, and while I agree, its scent profile falls just outside of what I want in a spicy aromatic fragrance. Giardinodiercole, however, is everything I wanted L'Air du Desert Marocain to be. Not only is it much more easy to wear starting from the very first second upon spraying it, but it also retains that INCREDIBLY intoxicating drydown I've grown to love from Tauer's creation. Admittedly, L'Air du Desert Marocain's drydown has what I perceive to be a bit more vanilla which makes it even more comforting, but Giardinodiercole's drydown is nothing to scoff at, either. If you're a fan of incense, this is a MUST HAVE for any enthusiast's collection. It is pricey ($318), but as of this post, you can find it on either OlfactoryFactoryLLC ($120) or Jomashop ($135) for a damn good discount. #1245 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I've previously tried out Agatho's "Fauno" and "195.a.C." and loved both of them as I do this scent. The opening is very after-shower powdery, and the pimento, which ruined Tom Ford "Grey Vetiver" for me, totally works here, as do the juniper, the incense, even the rhubarb, another note I generally don't appreciate. The rest is pretty standard stuff, but all together it's a scent I love smelling and will love wearing. Expensive as it is, it's full bottle worthy for me. It's long lasting, moderate projecting, and the incense is mild enough to be inoffensive in an office environment, but I think it's primarily a date scent.

A fine combo of juniper, incense, pepper, cardamom, pencil shavings, and sandalwood. I would say it shares some characteristics with Ormonde Man and Wonderwood, but this is much more refined and maintains its own identity. I just love and appreciate the dry, smoky, and creamy finish, which works wonders in colder temps. The resemblances to Tau by Onyrico (same nose) are there also, but that one evokes a greener and mossier scent profile. The bottle alone is gorgeous and exudes elegance, which is a plus in my book. For what's it worth, I get nothing to the likes of Epic Man.

Absolutely amazing combination of juicy clean citruses and refreshing herbs with some aromatic and spicy qualities . The base is quite woody and dark, but it blends soooooo well together that in the end you’re getting a perfectly fresh fragrance that instantly gives you an energy boost. Love it! A very evocative perfume, which tastes of ancient. A "smoky" air, a trail immortalized over time that has remained in the air, as if to testify to that era. A complex, very beautiful perfume! Sillage: 7./10 Longevity: 8./10 Scent: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10

Lots of dry woods with nice aromatic (and slightly citrusy) undertones. I like the green, piny and herbal part that smells refreshing and calming at the same time. It also has a hint of nice incense as well as some dry and cooling spices! Lovely!

I truly love the smoky incense and bold black pepper at its heart. These elements give the fragrance a deep, spicy intensity that sets it apart. The warm, earthy base complements these perfectly, making it a standout scent for me.

Instant love upon first introduction. Soothingly masculine and spicy. Warms up and sweetens towards the base. Fall-spring musthave for smelling classy and refined

Amouage Epic man. Greener、fresher version.

It opens as a classic fougère; heavy on pepper, bergamot, and lavender. I’m not a fan of that style, so the start feels off-putting to me, but the ending is a different story. In fact, my take is the opposite of what others have written. After that fougère burst, smoky-woody notes slowly emerge; easily the best phase. I also pick up a distinct thread of saffron. The heart of the fragrance gradually turns darker... Now to the part that really satisfies me: the drydown. The incense thickens, settling into a base of deep cedar, juniper berries, and styrax. Styrax is one of my favorite notes; I recognize it instantly and although it isn’t officially listed, a quick check confirmed it’s there. In short, I think this is a fantastic dark fragrance. The opening and the drydown are worlds apart, with the scent moving in waves from bright fougère to deep, shadowy woods.

I definitely see the comparisons to Epic Man, but Giardinodiercole lacks the funky anamalic touch of the Amouage classic, which is a good thing.

Woody paprika with incense Airy composition that I could see as someone's signature scent. Maybe not groundbreaking but definitely well blended!

A fragrance that adds both as long as you’ve been around To explain if you’ve never smelled something similar it will be striking I remember being star stuck by rocabar by Hermes it was manly smooth and very inviting And this is the same case woody spicy smooth With good performance almost no projection Sadly I’ve been there done that kind of thing So I wasn’t very impressed I must admit the opening is beautiful but the rest is not as good to get a bottle Sadly another no for me from the house

In the dry down I can smell cedar, cashmere wood, a hint of patchouli, and something sweet-fruity. It reminded me a lot of Brioni edp Essentiel in the opening and mid, but has more sweetness in the base. Masculine leaning. Long lasting; below average projection. Ultimately, boring sweet-woody scent with no originality.

Intense & ambra & black pepper. Slow down it reminds me somewhat of Pardon Nasomatto but is more intense. I would say it leans more masculine but can be unisex for sure.

Kind of smells like Amouage Epic Man layered with a very well-worked armpit.

100% agree with @Fragaddict123 when they say “I must admit the opening is beautiful but the rest is not as good” I was trying out a handful of fragrances at a boutique and the sales associate suggested this, as he wore it a lot. He sprayed it on a strip, and as stated above, the opening was beautiful. It was like the most elevated and expensive smelling blue/masculine fragrance you could imagine. If it stayed like that through the life of the fragrance I’d probably own a bottle right now... But as time passed, spraying and smelling other fragrances on strips, every time I went back to this strip it got worse and worse. Stale. Kind of old man-ish and just not anything close to what the opening promised. It became a different genre of fragrance, and frankly a bad one. This review won’t have a detailed description or comparison to other fragrances, because other than the opening smelling like the most elevated blue fragrance of all time (you can tell from the notes what I mean), there’s no way to describe what this smells like. This is just a review to say - as always, give fragrances time, don’t let an opening fool you, but give things you’ve never heard of a shot. I’m glad the associate recommended it, as I’d never even seen or heard of this brand. It’s just unfortunate that it didn’t work for me.

Dry spicy, incense-rich blend. - The powerful lavender and juniper open the ceremony, transitioning within 3 minutes to incense, pepper, and saffron, which is perhaps the most intriguing part: the incense burns, yet it's enveloped by spicy notes. 🏋️ Interestingly, in the air it's akin to white pepper; when sniffed up close on the wrist, it leans more towards the scent of Chinese five-spice powder 🤣 - After 10 minutes, the scent becomes robust, the texture of pepper resembling prickly stubble, accompanied by the medicinal aroma of saffron, it takes on a slightly bitter herbal fragrance. - After 30 minutes, it arrives at the core, with dry woody incense dominating, so dry that it carries a hint of acidity. - At 1.5 hours, as the incense slowly fades, lavender gently re-emerges. (Later, upon spraying a second time, I discovered that lavender had been lingering all along, but the preceding notes kept it subtle.) After 2.5 hours, the base notes of coumarin enhance the lavender's powdery smokiness, sandalwood, cedar, and amber shift the scent towards warmth and sweetness, adding weight to the incense, making it more comforting and stable. 🏋️ It's worth noting that lower temperatures accentuate the woody acidity and medicinal aspect, making the layers of fragrance more nuanced; conversely, higher temperatures accelerate the transition towards the warm and sweet finale. - The character exudes an aura of meticulousness, delicacy, and dignified solidity, akin to someone with slightly curled hair, wearing golden-rimmed glasses and a beige or earth-toned turtleneck sweater. ——.——.——.——.—— Scent 7/10 (Fragrance may vary based on personal preferences and experiences) Longevity 6/10 Sillage 5.5/10 Instagram:@desireandmemory_cabinet

The first few sprays were really nice and reminded me of Epic Man sans the silky aspect and I was grateful to have found a replacement for Epic in Giardinodiercole. I kept getting amazing whiffs throughout the day and it felt great as I haven't felt that in a long time. I am not sure what has happened a day later when I have sprayed it but now I'm getting this piercing cold diesel glue note that really hurts my senses. I know what notes are causing that but I shall refrain from looking like the expert. I will wait for better weather because this has the potential, I just know it! It's more similar to Opus II than Epic man in the dry down which I am OK with but I'm doumbfounded as to what happened with that Epic opening that's just not to be found anymore... Maybe next time I will use sparingly than going crazy. The dry down is still very enjoyable for me which sticks around for a while, especially on clothes. Other than that, it seems to have good quality ingredients and feels 'niche' but that aspect still doesn't justify the very high retail price. It has a cap made from porcelain which can make one feel better about the price but jokes aside, the presentation for this range is an experience in itself and the contents do deliver which can't be said about the offerings available on the market in the same price range. Obviously, go for it if you can get it really cheap because it might be worth the experience. With some fragrances you instantly know if you're going to get rid of them or not. This one is a keeper and a blind buy that hasn't gone totally wrong.

Spicy, strong amber. Cinnamon, cardamom, jasmine, patchouli, white musk and a very dominant amber component. Reminds me of my arch nemesis Enclave, so hard pass for me.

This is so beautiful it's not even funny! Love at 1st sniff! Please get a sample of this if you like incense and amber. I can't stop sniffing myself
