This is one of those rare scents that is far more than the sum of its parts. I feel like I’ve smelled everything, and this is a masterpiece to me. I can still have my breath taken away by a fragrance. It begins with a flash of juicy vermillion mandarin, with galbanum lending an addictive bitterness. Once your senses adjust, you realize that flash was bursting through a cloud of papery sueded almond floral goodness the whole time. It’s the most luxurious and sophisticated coziness on the drydown. But it never loses that zest somehow, keeping its exquisite balance hours into the wear... and earning its overly fancy bottle. I close my eyes and I am in my forties, having achieved my wildest financial goals. Wrapped in the plushest of robes, I stroll down marble hallways in the plushest of slippers. I luxuriate in getting ready... brightly colored citrus aperitif in hand. The inspiration behind this fragrance is just as beautiful as the scent itself, taking the name from the famously vibrant color of Pompei red. Made from cinnabar, this hue has stood the test of millennia and is still striking as you wander the city today.

Very elegant and pretty powdery musk floral vanilla, fluffy and cozy, the sweetness is balanced by the galbanum so it's not too cloying. If you like the combination of white flowers with heliotrope and vanilla, this is a safe blind buy. Five years ago when it first came on the market, I accidentally got a sample and fell in love with it as soon as I smelled it. However, at that time it was only sold on the Italian official website and it was difficult to send it to Taiwan, so I asked a Russian seller to help me find it. It (before the war of course), that was 250 euros plus shipping. Transparent bottle with orange-yellow liquid. Then for a while, all the perfumes of this brand were out of stock, and when they became available again, the bottles and boxes had been changed and the price had increased to 300 euros. But you can find very good deals on the gray market. On Taobao web in China, it’s only 105 euros, and it’s authentic. This is crazy so I have mixed feelings now, maybe I should have waited.

I can't believe I'm smelling the same scent as the person below...there is no raspberry or blackcurrant in this. i definitely get the heliotrope and almond with ylang and woods as support. Opening is absolutely lovely and it settles down to be pretty, cosy and comforting, which is probably due to the cashmere and almond. I'd been scared off from this brand by traying castamianti which was too amber/ambroxany for me. No such note in here though. Very nice... and the ylang comes through more, with a little jasmine later in the wear.

I love this. It reminds me of Psychedelic Love somewhat, it has similar vibes and that sans yellow floral, vanilla, cashmerian feel. This is a softer feel though. I love Psychedelic Love and I love this too. This is easier wearing though. As much as I love PL I tend to have to be in the mood to wear it. But this one isn't something I could get sick of wearing that quickly. Plus the bottle and presentation are top notch. This would make a great gift for an elegant, classy or even a modern woman.

The Rossopompeiano is very beautiful and very feminine. This fragrance complex but very pleasant. There is a little green sharpness to it from the start, I think it might be patchouli. It has some earthiness to it. Powdery, soft and I would say suitable more for mature woman. I am very impressed with the fragrance and very curious to try the rest from this Agatho. This house deserves more hype.
