Aphrodisiaque

For those who think this fragrance has small sillage and low longevity, caution: my driving instructor almost suffocated and kept opening windows several hours after i applied just two spritzes of Aphrodisiaque! lol. As for the fragrance itself, love it for daily wear. To be honest, it's nothing special in terms of originality, but it is so elegant and cozy, and makes me feel good. Smells kind of expensive too. I can imagine a man wearing it. Definitely not for teenagers, although not sexy or aphrodisiac-ish either!

So many people, so many opinions. For me it's a warm, good for winter, sexy, confident smell. Someone below commented she also hated Rumba, which I also love, so I guess it's in the same vibe. This one is a bit less playful than Rumba though (and apart from the honey they smell nothing alike). For me the sillage and longevity are both perfect, it lasts all day on me. And today she almost has a fresh undertone - she changes quite a bit I think depending on the wearer.

Think of an attractive woman, not just beautiful, not just pretty or sweet. She is edgy, interesting, sturdy and herself, and you are tempted to get closer. Oh AP always brings that sexy element in their perfumes. This is flower-resinos spicy sweet.

How lucky am I to have finally found my bottle less than a month since I wrote my review here! I had lost it for half a year or more.. Great to revisit this lovely scent (I was beginning to forget it).

I love this scent so much.... I think my favourite perfume of all time so far.

Blind Buy Review: Initially I really liked this one, from the bottle I could smell a delightful sweetened resinous musk... and if the smell didn't turn out to be so weak, I probably would've loved it. I was pleasantly surprised with the preview sniff that I took from the unsprayed bottle and was excited to test it on my skin. The first spray from the bottle put a smile on my face. I sniffed my wrist and thought "Hey! this is pretty good!"....then it all went down hill from there because each subsequent sniff I found myself pushing my nose closer and closer to my skin until I had to admit that the smell just wasn't there anymore. But then I got stubborn and thought "uh uh there's no way this stuff just up and ran away like that!" So I sprayed this on myself again, then on a lamp shade, on the back of my kid's shirt, on a piece of junk mail.....and even on my dog. On every surface I tested this on, I felt like I had to get up close and really concentrate on where I sprayed in order to smell it. And right when I thought I had finally caught the scent...*poof!* 😑 The whole testing experience felt like playing a game of "Catch Me if You Can" with a Cheshire cat.

I do like those French lingerie perfumes, it's always surprising and unexpected and when I saw this perfume in the shop at a bargain price I did a blind buy. So when I came home, I sat on my bed, the bottel was not easy to open, and it took some minutes to get a sniff and there it was: a mellow of coziness and comfort with a hint of some freshness. The sweet notes are definitely there and I appreciated it's not an imperative-smell-me- gourmand. After some sniffing and it occurred me that this bargain-perfume would be a great gift for my nieces (youngsters). I started reading the reviews of my fellow Fragrantica-lovers ( yes, you my darlings) and I read the comments on the design of the bottle... I looked again at the bottle and only then I recognized the resemblance.... thank you so much my Fragrantica-lovers for your comments...OMG I think my brother would had raised his brows if I gifted his girls this expressive bottle of sweet juice... Well that bottle, let me phrase it this way: entrez la douceur douce de la femme

I am surprised by this fragrance... very sweet and quite endearing, warm honey, sweet orchid, and soft resins, very pretty and nice. It's entirely much too innocent for a perfume bottle that resembles a gold-lacquered vulva ensconced in black leather. I was expecting a deeply rich, animalic, skanky perfume with too much civet for it's own good, hypnotizing resins, thick boozy honey, and orchid so intense you're wheezing as the pollen rises to buffet you over the head. A powerhouse fragrance that will leave you dizzy, overwhelmed, aroused, and utterly scandalized at its audacity. This is not it, at all. It's still enjoyable, just disappointingly unexpected.

Not as resinous as I expected. This is very herbal. I can small lavender, some tonka, pepper. It reminds me of a nighttime fougere in the opening. A bit masculine. A little sweet but dry. Basically vanilla orchid, pepper and musk. This is NOT a honeyed fragrance. Nor really resinous. It's a vanillic floral with a kick. Night wear. Cool weather. As it dries down it gets more of the tonka, pepper, a slight smokey quality and a little hint of the berry. In the final drydown, it's still that dry fougere tonka quality that reminds a bit faintly of incense but still not serious resins.

A strong peppery balsamic scent, I'm not a fan of it. It's quite sharp in a peppery way. Seems masculine to me. Not my cup of tea.

Firstly this smells nothing like Angel by Mugler. It does not resemble it in the slightest. The bottle is horrible and the fragrance is equally as bad. It’s suffocating, it chokes you, it’s nose prickling peppery, static mess of a smell. Its just awful and smells cheap. There’s something so dry, aggravating and aggressive about this fragrance. I thought with the honey note it would be smooth and syrupy and deep but it’s not. I absolutely love Agent Provocateur Eau Emotionnelle. It’s light, so soft, powdery, feminine, lolly musk. Just a truely beautiful fragrance and I had such high hopes for this one. It’s a total disappointment and probably my last blind buy.

Insanely old-fashioned, an attar. the smell of mens perfume in the late 1970's , early 80's. The time when commercially sold mens perfume where almost non existent in Western Europe and those who considered themselves classy, bohemiens doused themselves in cheap-ish fragrance oils from the souks of North Africa and the bazaars of India. Incense, rose and musk are all that's left on my skin after about five minutes. Only did one spritz and it lasted for hours then got reactivated again in the shower this morning. Strangely it reminded me of Chanel no 5 then.

The Agent Provocateur fragrance line (from the OG and its flankers to Fatale then Aphrodisiaque) just refuses to cooperate with my body chemistry and this one is the WORST offender. I called Rumba Passion a freshly pissed urinal cake, this one borders on that as well. Didn't bother to learn how long it will last on my skin or how big is the projection I will not tolerate that disappointment. I'm happy in this reality alcohol wipes exist to rid myself of it ASAP.

First I bought a version of Pure Aphrodisiac from the beginning. I think this must be good too, and I made a blind purchase. And I'm frustrated. I don't understand these smells. It's like sweet, but it's not a pleasant scent. The PURE Aphrodisiac version is 1000X better.

Aphrodisiaque as a name for this is so off base. It's a soft honey scent, very light, one that hums in the background, persistent but only as a skin scent. No projection, no sillage. Honey is the main note, but the orchid and cereus bloom give an herbal/medicinal tang to it, almost like clove oil. Manuka honey is the overall effect. When a racy underwear company puts a perfume in a shiny gold bottle and calls it a frenchified version of a suggestive name like this, one expects a BLAST of intense, heady sweetness, resin, and spice. One expects APHRODISIAQUE to be X or at least R rated, the type of thing not to be worn to work and so on. In this case the campy name has backfired because AP fans can't help but be disappointed by the mismatch between image and actual scent. It's a safe, soft, pastel honey. I would rename it "Eleven O'clockish" and distribute it under the Winnie the Pooh label in an off-white flowery flacon with a baby blue cap, along with flannel jammies and character print blankets. This stuff is safe enough to wear anywhere...work, job interviews, church, tax audit. Total mismatch of image and scent.

Scented Monkey has these for a great price! I can't agree with comparing this to Black Orchid. I smelled none of that. BO is one of my faves, and there is nothing like it. If I had to compare this to something it would be Lady Million Prive- except LMP is very thick and gooey with honey, patchouli, cocoa, etc... AP Aphrodisiaque has the same creamy floral sweet honey feel but much more linear and toned down from Prive. All in all, I like this. Easy to like for sweet-white floral lovers. Potency and longevity was average... the sillage didn't seem huge, but longevity on clothing was good. The bottle is f-ed up tho. Haha. The box shows you TWIST the cap off, but it's not easy to get off. You will need to grab the bottle by a fist and twist as hard as you can. You won't break it. ;)

This is s wonderfull on my skin . the honey is to die for . I know many sayes this is boring and nothing special . but to me this is so nice . Warm beautiful Honey slightly spicy honey mingles perfect with a bit of Resin ,blackberry just a slight touch to make it a tad fruity and sweet . the pepper is also well mixed in and with the Cereus and orchid, it makes it a beautiful little spice flora .Not to sticky sweet . This reminds me of Fairytale Lulu Guinesse wich is realy hard to find. This isent a sex bomb kind of scent . its more alluring sniking up on you with the slightly peppery animalic honey . Sensual on the right skin in a innocent kind of way No femme fatale here ,Innocent attraction i would say I love it

Surprising. Not sweet. I pick up some honey but it's more ambery than it is sticky and syrupy. Infact very dry and herbaceous. Spicy, slightly boozy and woodsy. Animalic atmosphere. The scent is quite fleeting and stays close to the skin. Very unisex and more masculine leaning in my opinion. I might try layering some vanilla/floral fragrances with this as the base notes stand out the most.

Peppery and strange. Seems futuristic. It has a warmth to it that is pleasant, and is certainly distinctive... perhaps not a blind buy. Would suit the business and military world. Its not pretty, but rather relies upon the wearer to make it work. Someone edgy, strong and progressive would pull this off... maybe dressed in Rick Owens? Interesting...

The bottle... I don't believe I have dirty mind.. But was that designed with a specific body part in mind? Anyone...?

For me, this perfume is a dupe for Angel Mugler. Big projection, great longevity! And at an affordable price!

Nothing wrong with the bottle! Fragrance sounds promising!
