Lace Noir

I got this after falling head over heels in love with Blue Silk (Review available on that one). Of all their fragrances this seemed closest to it's soul. I comes in just under BlueS to me, as expected since I'm so in love with BlueS. Lace Noir is a lighter, more floral, though thankfully the rose stays in the background. Being a lover of the old fashion big bombs, White Diamonds, Fancy Nights, Opium, Shalimar, TABU and fragrances that "go there" I am not in the least afraid of such whistles like "Old Fashion" or "Old Dark Hollywood Bombs" or comparisons to big dark classic fragrances. Matter of fact, if they are meant to be criticisms they aren't...lol They usually signal to me that I am probably gonna love it. Lace Noir really clings to me, I don't experience any lack of sillage or lasting power...Its' heavy in the air for hours after a good couple sprays. And on clothes, it'll be there for many many days or until washed. The scent on me is a LOT of jasmine, patch and pepper. Not as dark as Blue Silk, but just as warm but in a more dusk time, where-as as Blue Silk is midnight dark. The Tonka/Pepper/Patch combo fools you into thinking there is a woody smell in it, like Blue Silk has, but there's not, it's that combo, which I find quite interesting that the combo can almost create a cedar smell. It comes in 2nd to BlueS for my tastes but I still adore it and am very glad I picked it up. I'm wondering if they have something else I might like, I'll have to investigate their catalog a bit, as Blue Silk and Lace Noir certainly gave their House a grand impression to me. And in conclusion, let me warn you, if you think it smells good in the first 10 minutes, wait 15 minutes more. The dry down is exquisite.

i haven't smelled all perfumes on the market of course...but i am pretty sure that this one smells like nothing else out there ! So special so unique so vintage style...sharp and cozy in the same time. i know that all ingrediencies screams winter...but i literally visualized myself wearing this with backless long dress with tropical plants printed, the moment i smelled it.I am very impressed!i was very lucky that i owned the sample in a discovery set i bought in order to test the original pink bottled one . FB ordered asap...for the upcoming summer nights !

Bergamot, the initial scent. Turns softer, lemony... mint, tonka, woody, ... this is beckoning to be a chypre at this point. Almost reminds me of Jean-Louis Scherrer Jean-Louis Scherrer (a beastly chypre!!), but this is not as strong by any means. Drying down, becomes softer. and the vanilla comes into play, and I never saw it coming. A sweet, root beer coming aboard, too, all while remaining a dry scent. Oh, this is just delightful. I do like it. A man can wear this as well. Still wearing it for test.

This is heavenly! I actually had a much harder time with Blue Silk-- which is way too sharp for my nose. Lace Noir is much rounder and lingers on garments for hours-- was wondering 'what is this wonderful smell?' at the laundry room the other day and I discovered that it was Lace Noir, smelling like warm honey mixed with lavish bouquets in the air.

This is bewitching. It puts a spell on you that makes you have to keep sniffing where you applied it. It's so rich with that sweet vanilla and spiciness. And then that rose-patchouli combination, gorgeous! I could swear I get something like cinnamon from it in that spice. There's kind of an incense vibe. Great cool weather fragrance. Love this one!

This smells like Christmas; candles, gingerbread and Coca-Cola.This is not a beast, but still performs comfortably. Lovely, cozy, even traditional. Reminds me of Estee Lauder Muse Rouge and Youth-Dew too, Softly. I love it.

Very vintage in the most positive and womanly way. Very seductive and mature. Its also a warm and an almost comforting scent. My partner loves this as well.

This perfume smells so good. Really get the patchouli, rose, tonka and pink pepper, its warm and sweet! This one is really a love! Can't stop wearing it.

I right get a nasal climax every time I smell this! Sweet spicy creaminess - the perfect delight! This is my favorite perfume!

This is wickedly fizzy and peppery on me!! Initial spray has a slight hint of the original AP DNA but that quickly morphs into a cozy, cinnamony, warm, pepper bomb. There's something sightly soapy (compliments of the jasmine and tuberose) yet resinous going on here too mixed with the original Opium my mom used to wear when I was kid. I've always been super intimidated by Opium but this I can do - even tho I'm not sure if I'll want to. I wouldn't say this is a sweet or a vanilic fragrance as suggested in the description. Ps. This stuff has wild projection!! One spray has filled the house!!

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm 58 years old, but this seems very "old-fashioned" om me. It reminds me of the types of perfumes my mother, and the ladies at my church, wore during the early to mid-60's. It's pleasant, light, non-offensive. Wears close to the body, not quite a skin scent, but short range projection. I can catch whiffs here and there. Won't be a full bottle purchase for me.

Very gorgeous; a vanillic chypre. Starts off bright and peppery, becomes powdery and rosy as an ambery and resinous base emerges. Definitely a bombshell scent for the cool/cold months. Lasts all day, projects rather strongly on my skin.

pink pepper, tuberose, patchouli and an almost benzoin or labdanum balsamic tonka; beautiful in the final drydown with rose, tonka and patch. There seems to be amber and resins in the base.

The bottle is one of my favorites for its design. Opening it is literally like pulling the pin from a grenade, and once sprayed, it sets off a bomb of pink pepper and citrus. This is an acquired taste I think, I had Si Lolita years ago and it made me nauseous after a bit, and this smells very similar if a little sweeter. I like the scent, it’s quite sexy and feminine in the manner of an old Hollywood bombshell. The pepper bomb may prove to be too much for me. Update: I’m unable to shake the sensation that this is pretty much Si Lolita, too peppery and forward for me.

It arrived today. Reminds me a cheap perfume from 80s. I love AP, but disappointed with this one. Probably the worst blind buy ever. I agree with the previous review, it also remind a Christmas candle, but I dont want to smell the candle. I will give it a go and will review it again. PS: yesterday sprayed it before going to bed. I felt like poisoning myself. Its a bit better than heavy cheap perfume from 80th, but not sure if I can be brave enough to spray it again. If I was a man and dated a woman with this perfume, I would not go for more than one date. If someone use it in the office it would be awful day for me. This night it is pretty strong on my pyjama. PPS: I sprayed it again. Seems it is not so bad, though I do not like patchouli in general. If you like - you may like this perfume.

This is extremely strong smelling and quite pungent. Not for the faint hearted. Vintage style. Would suit some. Not for me unfortunately. I prefer the original Agent Provocateur.

I was very excited for two new releases from AP, and Blue Silk was my first purchase since it looked more interesting/different than the same old. (My review is on that page) I expected this one to be creamy/sweet/same old, but to be honest-- it's my fave of the two! (And there are two MORE new APs: Fatale Orchid and not in the database: Miss AP. I think Miss AP is a rebottled/re-release of the discontinued L'Agent to be honest. It smells just like L'Agent with maybe a dash of benzion/Prada Candy feel) Lace Noir is Christmas!! Perfect timing this early Nov winter in Michigan. It's a dry woody, slightly spicy, aromatic creamy smooth vanilla. Very tonka/vanilla. Lace Noir opens up WEIRD-- AP needs to STOP with the pepper. I swear every AP has the oddest opening, and it's no indication of the scent. The florals of LN are all mixed in. The tuberose/coconut don't add anything tropical (I was worried about that) it adds to the creamy soft warm feel of this. The woody pepper and patchouli add spice/dry woods, and the tonka adds a dry soft woody-nutty-vanilla-spice to the scent making it so cozy and winter-ish. This is not SWEET in general terms (not fruity/juicy/toothachy/foodie at all). It does smell like an Xmas candle. And I'm somewhat reminded of the old Vanilla Bean Noel from B&BW- though they really don't have much in common. Totally recommended! Excellent potency and sillage!

two hours passed since initial spray..warm and cozy,i mostly get rose and patchouli nice balanced.better than blue silk..but i find the smell very common..i ll enjoy it more as a summer perfume.great value for money.i also received another new perfume called Cosmic..i m wearing it to my other wrist..i still cant find words to describe it..because at first i didnt like it.i dont know if i hate it either,but i keep smelling it again and again.if anyone else has it maybe he/she solve the mystery.i think also men will like it.sometimes experiments work.trying to find a way to make this smell stronger and lasting i mixed it in egual doses with two other perfumes i have and thought that share similarities.EA 5th avenue royal and with Aquolina s black sugar.the result in both cases was more than satisfaying!!gave this one more depth and character.as for the Cosmic edition i layered with the classic AP and i liked this combination because it adds to the original some kind of freshness.i d like to add that after many experiments this is very nice alone but with blue silk layered im getting a better result.something really exceptional and unique and this is the way i ll enjoy them all year around

I am very impressed with Agent Provocateur's perfumes. If I come across one, I buy one! To me, all of them are safe "blind buys". But maybe not this one? Now, Lace Noir. I have seen it's been mentioned that it smells like a christmas candle. And I kind of agree, actually! Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. It makes it fun and interesting I guess. I get NO coconut whatsoever. By looking at the notes here, I wouldn't have expected this perfume to smell like it does. I tried this for the first time this spring and it was a bit too heavy. I am very curious how this will be during winter time. Oh and it's super strong and lasts forever! Always a plus - to me :)

Blind bought with blue silk. Rose and benzoin, loads of pepper. Better sillage than blue silk but longevity not great, just 1-2 hours max. Patchouli is dominant in the drydown. At some point it reminded me of Paloma Picasso, then morphed into 70's patchouli and rose!It feels sexy but the patchouli becomes too much at the end. However, the patchouli is not dirty like in Angel, it feels herbaceous but clean. I wouldn't buy it again due to the poor longevity.

I find Lace Noir to be a lovely, dark fragrance with patchouli and pepper as the highlights; yet it is not overbearing. The rose barely peaks through, but it is there nonetheless. There is a slight cola note that pleasantly lingers. I sprayed this on one of my jackets and the fragrance has remained. When I went to pick up my jacket days after spraying, I wondered what in the world smelled so wonderful...it was Lace Noir.

The smell reminds me of the Maja Soap off my grandmother. Too powdery for me. I ordered it because of the pepper and wood. I expected a classic but suprising smell. Such a shame I can't try any new perfumes off this brand on my skin first before ordering. My mother turns 80 next month, I will give it to her. Hope she bears Maja Soap, better than me.

Oh My Garsh...I almost fell out of my chair from laughing when I read tandem_4x4's remarks, "If I was a man and dated a woman with this perfume, I would not go for more than one date. If someone use it in the office it would be awful day for me." I guess it's a NO for me ... I won't be blind buying this one fo sho ...

Absolutely stunning, gorgeous thick and heavy edp! Very similar to blue silk but alot more spice. This literally warms me up when I put it on. I can feel the warmth from the spices. This is blended so well I can not believe it . It's almost and exact dupe for the Tom for Noir Extreme

Vintage and spicy are the two perfect words to describe this. It's perfect for a man, in my opinion; smells like a men's cologne. The projection is great and lasts about 4 hours before fading into a skin scent.
