I ordered a decanted sample of this as I was not sure what it was going to smell like . I got the sample today and I can say I in love with this . First of all Ahmed Al Maghribi put a lot of oil in their fragrances, its above 30% for sure . Spraying this on skin leaves a good shine on the skin and it stays until it is wiped off by something which shows it is a highly concentrated juice . Starting with the opening this is damn stong . You will get an immediate hit of saffron rose combo with a lot of burnt sugar in the bg . This doesn't smell appealing when smelling up close but in the air it is that rich classy smell . I don't get much citrus in the opening rather it shines in the drydown with vetiver . Mid is all about smoke , oud , bakhoor and a little bit of florals which balances it . In my opinion base is the best part of this fragrance where the oud becomes a lot more bright and gets that oudy sweetness . You definitely need to give multiple wearings to appreciate the fragrance. All together a rich smelling oud saffron smokey sweet fragrance. Not recommended for weak noses .

Do not be mistaken, this is definitely a men's winter perfume. The opening is a very strong mix of smoke, leather and the scent of dried pieces of citruses. While drying down, the citruses disappear, the smoky, leathery scent becomes addictive and it is then, when the bakhoor/ olibanum tones begin to rise (3-4 h after application). The drying out proceeds with a sweet ambery/ powdery scent accompanied by a sophisticated and discreet smoky/ oud tone. One of the most complex, interesting, addictive drying downs I 've ever experienced. I totally disagree with the comments describing the bakhoor tone as synthetic. Being an orthodox christian, I am very used to the scents of incense, trust me, there is nothing synthetic in this one. It's been 2 weeks since I started wearing this and it becomes even more addictive day by day. Warning: Wearing this in summer is strongly not recommended.

Ahmed Al Maghribi Bin Shaikh is a bold, smoky-sweet oriental oud fragrance that smells luxurious and unapologetically Middle Eastern, opening with saffron, rose, citrus and oakmoss before moving into a sugary bakhoor-incense heart and drying down to thick oud, amber, patchouli and musk; it has a rich, slightly resinous and sometimes slightly animalic edge that makes it feel “sheikh-level” and formal rather than fresh or casual, with strong projection and beast-mode longevity (often 8+ hours, sometimes much more), making it ideal for winter evenings, weddings, prayer gatherings or AC settings, but potentially overwhelming in peak summer heat; it’s not the safest blind buy because the smoky-sweet oud profile can feel heavy to beginners, yet for lovers of powerful, room-filling statement scents, it offers excellent value and a very regal presence.

This is good. Great longevity and projection. The bottle design is awesome and the color of the juice is rich. The scent itself speaks of quality. Honestly at first i hated it. It had a piss-like smell. But it faded away in 10 minutes and the scent became really beautiful, warm, gentle and sadly, to my nose, a little feminine. I can definitely see a woman wearing this (maybe above the age of 30 though). Sadly to me, as a man, i can’t get used to it on my skin. The scent itself is very well blended and joyful. Smells more expensive than it is (as a lot of other reviewers have written). I can see this being a signature fragrance for a lot of people, because it has phenomenal quality for a low price. Would not recommend blind buying it.

At this price point and maybe even at twice the price, this is one of the nicest Ouds I have ever come across, it's got an addictive barnyard-ish sweet scent, that is gorgeous, and I'd say a good introduction to the stronger Ouds. I also have Dam Watani, and that is very barnyardy to the point I layer it with sweeter Oud combos, this one however is perfect, even in my books nicer than Swiss Arabian's Oud Elixir from their higher end Sawealef range, and at twice the price of this bottle, that's saying something, although Oud Elixir is a bit more refined, this one is sweeter and easier to wear, I think this one just hits the sweet spot, and is going to be a staple in my collection for years to come.
