Dubai Chocolate

(No scent-profile description here. Just describing my odd issue with this scent of it possibly having excess filler oil?) This truly might just be my nose, but to my nose, the scent is moderately blunted/muted/obscured and I can't smell it with clarity - it smells as if it's overloaded with unscented filler oil that's obstructing my nose from clearly detecting the actual fragrance oil with clarity and intensity that you'd expect when smelling up close. And I don't mean it smells typically low quality and muddled - it's a different scent experience. I wouldn't know if this actually has excess filler oil though because I'm not educated on perfumery - I'm purely speculating based on my odd experience. The three bottles in this line (I own all three) are all like this - muted in an unusual way (Dubai Chocolate, Kaffe Latte, Matcha). I also get the same impression from Maison Alhambra Galactic Men Intense and Maison Alhambra Galactic Men Elixir (copying A*Men Pure Malt and Pure Havane), and Lattafa Raghba Wood Intense. I also tried an in-store tester of Ahmed Al Maghribi Kaffe Latte and it was also this way. It's possible that my nose is hyper sensitive to a common fixative ingredient in these, drowning out the other fragrance oils. I haven't experienced this with any other fragrances aside from the six mentioned above. For context, I've smelt ~1250 fragrances so far in my journey. Kaffe Latte and Matcha are so muted to my nose that they're not even worth wearing, personally. Dubai Chocolate is less muted and still totally wearable as a fun casual chocolatey fragrance, and it projects nicely in the air. Smells of moderate quality, bordering on low quality, to my nose. But if I smell up close, I can't smell the scent with clarity and intensity - it smells blunted/muted. Hopefully other reviewers can comment on whether they get the same experience. Will have to see how maturation goes.
