#154 of My Fragrance Journey - Ahmed Al Maghribi Kaaf: The freshie that actually sticks around long enough to matter Kaaf's got this quality where it feels like it's caught somewhere between morning light and open water - sounds a bit much written out like that, but that's genuinely the sensation. Opens with lavender, airy, none of that sharp fougère bites you sometimes get. Sicilian orange comes in alongside it, a thin trace of watermelon, and some soft red fruit underneath keeping it warm without tipping into heavy. From there it doesn't really deepen so much as spread out. Lotus and lily of the valley soften things further; jasmine adds a clean brightness without turning into a full floral statement. There's a sea note running through all of it too - not crashing-wave stuff, more like a breeze passing over water. Gives it this calm, clear feeling rather than emptiness, and underneath that you've got white musk, sandalwood, and ambroxan holding the whole light structure together. Where Kaaf really earns its keep is just staying power. Strong projection those first couple hours, then it settles into something clean and consistent that runs 8 to 10 hours - which honestly surprised me for something this light. A lot of fragrances this airy tap out way before that. I'll be honest, it's pretty linear once it settles. No real twists after the opening, no big reveal three hours in. Depends what you're after - some people want that reliability for daily wear, others are going to want more happening as it develops. Technically it performs well, decent sillage, leaves a clean trail behind you. If I'm being picky, it does sit close to that elevated shower-gel territory - crisp, fresh, easy to wear, and a purist might catch a whiff of deodorant in there somewhere. But the performance and the refinement lift it past your average freshie, I think. Works best as an everyday thing - warm days, office, casual weekends, anywhere you want fresh without it being loud about it. Not reinventing aquatics by any means, but it does the genre properly, and that lasting power alone puts it ahead of most in its category. Vibe: Morning light dissolving into open water. Soft horizons. Cool air carrying warmth that hasn't quite arrived yet. Performance: Strong out the gate, then settles into a clean, steady presence for 8 to 10 hours - impressive for something this light. Fit: Warm days, bright offices, slow weekends - anywhere you want fresh to feel expansive rather than shouted. I can't believe how badly some people are trashing this frag in the reviews below. To my nose, this is a fresher take on Percival, but even better smelling. I got a 10ml decant, so it was likely from a fully matured bottle. It opens with a beautiful deep Watermelon Jolly Rancher and berry vibe, over some aquatics with some light florals. It smells both fruity and green in the opening. As it dries down and enters into the mids, the fruits and green notes start to fade and the the florals and wood come through. As it fully dries down it's floral and woody with a nice light white musk. It's perfectly balanced I my opinion. I compared it with Percival yesterday, one on each wrist and it's further from Percival than my memory had served me. They both smell synthetic in the opening, but the dry down on this is much more natural smelling in my honest opinion. I think this is a much better fragrance. I couldn't believe how much more I preferred this. It's very hard for me to find fresh scents that I enjoy, but I am completely enamored with this one. Longevity is great, for a fragrance of this style: it easily pushed around 10 hours on skin, much longer on clothing. It develops very nicely on my skin, where I found it to stay much more linear on clothing. Projection is very good for the first 3-4 hours, it is long lasting but it isn't ever loud or obnoxious like some other frags (Dumont Nitro Red, I'm looking at you!) This seems like a highly versatile fragrance, I wore it in the cold yesterday and it was very pleasant, but obviously it will shine in warmer weather. I would label this as unisex, leaning a little masculine. The late dry down has shades of the ladies version of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Eau Intense, and I'm not mad about that! All in all, I was truly blown away by this fragrance, it has it all. It's definitely earned a spot in my top 10, which is one of the first freshies to ever make the list (the only other one is BDC EDP, but I honestly prefer this.) 93/100

First things first: I'm sorry, but anyone who says this is a Percival dupe has either never smelled Percival or are just lying to themselves because they would rather believe their $30 dupe gives them the same experience as an expensive high end niche fragrance instead of just a relatively cheap, easily accessible mall scent that every other dude wore back in the day. Saying this as someone who unabashedly will forever be an early 2000s mall douche at heart - Percival is in my top 3 favorites all-time and Fierce was a common wear for me throughout my teenage and early 20s years. Percival and Kaaf may share a common heritage of Fierce, but to say Kaaf is a dupe of Percival is a big stretch. Off my soapbox now. That all being said, Kaaf is incredible and one of my favorite fragrances in my collection. It has survived a pivot I've made to buying smaller decants of designer and niche fragrances instead of throwing my money away blind buying countless cheap dupes, which I would never come close to using in my lifetime. It's pretty potent being an extrait and very long lasting - cannot speak to how much it projects but I'm guessing not incredibly well due to the oil concentration. Can confirm what others have mentioned about leaving a very visible sheen of oil on the skin after you spray. To my nose it's a touch cleaner and maybe a touch sweeter than Fierce, which IMO leans more into the woody / aromatic side. This slight difference as well as the fact that it's performance is way better than Fierce makes me love it that much more. But it's unmistakably cut from that classic Fierce cloth, so I could see it being somewhat of a polarizing fragrance (might trigger olfactory memories for anyone who walked within 100 yards of an Abercrombie back in the day). IMO it's a great daily scent for any season and so long as you don't overdo it, I'd consider it to be office-friendly, as well. Just a great classic fresh clean scent - smells like a dude who has his life together.

Lovely, especially for the warm weather and gym, a very easy, no thought option! Nice quality, great longevity and a decent sillage and projection. Because of the high oil content it's doesn't choke out the surrounding area but when you warm up due to the sunshine or because you are working out, Kaaf is very noticeable in and around your arms length bubble. It never really becomes a skin scent until the next day, crazy performance for the price. The actual scent is very pleasant. lavender, florals, musk and a dose of ambroxan to push through the oily elixir and give a nice lift. Actually quite a versatile scent. I could easily see a younger person wearing this out to a club and wouldn't shy away from wearing it myself when out for a bite to eat in the evening, I'm a (Just into) middle age man with my noisy days behind me.....mostly. 😆 I think this could even be worn to work for the right person, it'll certainly see you through the day and home. Although primarily a fragrance for warmer days I can't really see any reason why you couldn't wear it anytime except perhaps if there is snow and ice on the ground! Definitely unisex but the guys in my gym seem to like it very much. In fact, one of the other members liked it so much that he got out his phone and bought it there and then. It's a little similar to a few other offerings out there but at the end of the day this is absolutely solid for the price and out performs all the other offerings that Kaaf resembles I can think of! It's definitely improved over time too. So please allow for it to deepen, improve and smooth out even further after purchase, not that it needs it! I would definitely recommend this to someone with just a few fragrances, decent collection or anyone who just wants a reliable, strong performing and great all round scent.

Kaaf Review First impression? Honestly the opening did smell a bit synthetic to me at first. I was like “ah yes, another fresh perfume trying too hard.” BUT give it some time and the dry down becomes absolutely gorgeous. That’s where the magic starts. Kaaf to me smells like: ocean breeze white shirt luxury soap expensive theatre/Mall AC air It smells REALLY clean and very well put together in the air. Not the most complex scent ever made, but somehow it just works everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE. College, outings, random errands, heat, indoors — this thing just adapts. Now let’s talk about the performance because this thing was genuinely ridiculous when I first got it. 4 sprays and it would radiate the entire day. Not “lasts long if I sniff my wrist closely” performance. I mean actual AURA. My professor literally told me I smelled like an expensive theatre 😭 and honestly that’s the best description of Kaaf. The dry down is easily the best part. Smooth airy musky freshness that keeps floating around you. People may not always notice it up close, but in the air? Beautiful. One warning though: THIS THING CAN STAIN SHIRTS 😭 The oil concentration is no joke. Don’t close spray on light coloured clothes unless you want your fragrance to leave a permanent autograph. Ratings: Scent: 6.5/10 Projection: 10/10 Longevity: 9.5/10 Uniqueness: Depends where you live honestly, around me nobody smells like this. Would I rebuy? Probably not anytime soon because one bottle feels like it’ll survive multiple governments and generations. Overall: Kaaf isn’t trying to smell ultra luxurious or niche. It just smells CLEAN, airy, fresh and ridiculously pleasant in the air. And honestly? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

(disclaimer: i have no idea what the original smells like so this is solely based on the fragrance itself) kaaf by ahmed al maghribi is one of the highest quality freshies i have in my collection out of many dupe fragrances i've tried, for only around $25-30 even though this has seen its fair share of tiktok hype like most dupes do, this still feels so much more underrated for what it really gives as a fragrance now the presentation and bottle are nothing to be excited about but 99% of people only care for the juice and it is fantastic in what it brings, you get a very juicy kind of fruits-like opening with subtle lavender and drying down into that musky scent as it settles down which for a disclaimer this oil concentration is HIGH, it will stick on for a bit even after the dry down but the scent stays linear, a fruity, musky, clean body-wash gel kind of scent profile, compared similarly to that of percival just a stand alone fragrance though not in comparison to percival, it gives almost 3-4 hours projecting with around 6-8 as a skin scent being an extrait and a very highly concentrated oil used within the fragrance, i've had my bottle for about 4 months and unlike a lot of middle eastern dupes, this one was pleasant from the first use, not harsh nor synthetic, it's a good year round fragrance but especially as the heat starts to rise for spring and summer so i would highly recommend this fragrance. I just read that someone mentioned using 12 sprays with this. Ohhhh myyyyy lol. For me (lol), this is a 2-spray MAX. Very floral, very fresh, very clean, citrus, LOTS of lavender, zesty orange (maybe), some musk for later... and the projection is great. The silage is great, and as a 45-year-old male, I appreciate this fragrance. I really like what this does. It's sweet but not too sweet. You instantly smell like soap, and like a forceful soap. I'll admit the first seconds after spraying is a super synthetic smell—almost chemical—but that does go away and leaves you with a very fresh scent. I can tell the concentration of oils is high in this... you can see a very thick shine on your skin after you apply it. I would pay attention to clothing with this fragrance (it hasn't happened to me, but just my two cents). As someone who is SUPER into freshies, I had to have this one. Yes, I would buy again. I'm going to say this is NOT a safe blind buy. It'd be difficult to test this—most decants might not carry this, and most retail stores don't either.

i never smell Percival so i will review this as it is, i got the xdp version (be carefull there is 2 version; the edp, and xdp, so just be carefull okay) Probably one of the best freshie for all season, clean, fresh, sweet, aquatic. I wanna say that this is lavender heavy, but not Valentino type, it is more bright, more citrussy, and that watermelon is actually pretty nice Opening is really good, its the most fresh phase from this fragrance, it gives that after shower vibe, and at dry down the woodines start to kick in and it becomes sweeter and settle down really nicely Longevity: easy 12+ hours, Beast for 4, normal till 6, and buble zone when it hit 8 hours and skin scent after 10+ hours Projection: Really good, its room filling Sillage: You are going to leave a nice and really long trail when you walk around The only downside it comes from the upside itself, the 44% concentration makes my skin really shiny, so to prevent that i would advise that you spray 30 minutes before you go out so it can simmer down

Updated review after maceration : Kaaf was great when I first got it but has gotten even better after maceration. When I first received it it smelled great but the lavender was sharp and it did remind me a little bit of a lavender cleaner I once used. As time passed this has gotten much smoother as well being more airy and aquatic as well. It still is the same beautiful scent but has matured very nicely and those sharp edges are no more. Now I can really see the similarities between this and the PDM. ///// In a nutshell this is a very fresh,clean, attractive scent profile perfect for daily use. Even before this macerated I got more compliments on this than most of the fragrances in my collection of close 200 frags(However, this scent profile always worked well for me) Performance on this is great even with 2-3 sprays. It lasts all day and has almost beast mode performance. Overall rating -9 out of 10! In all honesty this is the best bang for your buck fragrance I own

Wallahi, today’s Friday, middle of really hot & humid July and I had a full test run. I sprayed 2 on the neck, 2 on the wrists, 2 on the shoulder and I left my house around 12:30 PM. Went straight to Jummah in that high, unforgiving heat—the kind that usually destroys most perfumes within an hour but it was loud and even though I get nose blind a lot, i could still smell KAAF. I Came home drenched, took a full shower (soap and everything). Thought the scent would be gone, right? MASHA ALLAH— after Maghreb around 9:40PM right now, and not only does my shirt still have visible deep oil marks, but it still smells beautiful. Fresh, rich, sweet and very much alive. Most perfumes would’ve tapped out hours ago. This? It’s still lingering and projecting like it just settled into its drydown. This isn’t just hype—it’s craftsmanship that holds up under real pressure.

This is excellent. As Sportz said, "out of the bottle it smells amazing". That about sums it up. It is an easy wear, fresh, fruity, aquatic summer fragrance. If you told me this is Chanel's new 2025 Allure Homme Sport flanker, I would believe you. It is smooth, well blended, fruity but not cloyingly so, and mass appealing. This is perfect for school or work in a warm climate. I think this is definitely blind buy worthy. It smells more expensive than it is. I highly recommend it if you want a fresh, fruity, aquatic, warm weather daily wear fragrance. It is appropriate for any age. My only caution is that it is fairly sweet, so if you don't want a fruit-sweet fragrance, stay away from this one. It is a very happy and cheerful scent, hopefully it will make me less grumpy and pissed off when I wear it. I give it a score of 8.5/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.3.

Very utilitarian mens fragrance right here. This is a great fragrance for dudes that aren't that into fragrances and want something that works for every occasion, and is strong enough without being too strong. It's also priced amazing for what it is. So to me this is a lot like A&F Fierce it's got that super powdery musk and vague fruityness. I can almost smell the watermelon, but just not quite. It also has some florals and sandalwood. It is heavily concentrated so it lasts all day, but it doesn't have much of a dry down, and it also isn't a major projector. However it is plenty strong all day long, and it does have a decent scent trail. Overall great daily wear fragrance that shouldn't offend anyone, but is noticeable and gets compliments. That's why I say it's utilitarian it just works and does everything well.

Honestly, a great fragrance. In the context of the fragrances I've tried its halfway between Kismet's The Poet and PDM's Percival. It has some projecting notes like lavender, orange, and lily; however, most of its effect comes from notes like musk and sandalwood. These give it great longevity and a tighter projection bubble. Personally, this works for me since I don't like to gas out rooms, but I do like smelling good all day. Amazing 8 hours of longevity with about six feet of projection for most of the time. The only qualm I may have about this is common with all blue fragrances: overspray gives the impression that you sprayed this in place of taking a shower. P.S. If you want a faux The Boy effect, layer this with Steamed Rainbow and it'll get you ~60% there.

Honestly quite shocked with how good yet basic it is. At the end of the day, you'd want something that you know will smell good so it's definitely blind buy safe! Now don't expect something out of the ordinary with this fragrance, like it's basically high-end shower gel vibes but it's great for a daily driver. Like if you smell this on someone, you know they take their hygiene seriously so if you are in need of something that's either a good daily driver, or clean refreshing vibes, I'd go for it. If you have something already in your collection like Montblanc Legend or Fierce A&F or PDM Percival (which yes I do see similarities of), then you don't need to get it! Otherwise, solid fragrance and will update more once I've tested it on skin, longevity etc.,

Leans more masculine to me, but I would wear this in a heartbeat. In fact, I’m thinking about ordering a bottle of it for my husband. It’s giving Twilight Woods by BBW, the discontinued one in the brown glass bottle. I don’t get some of the listed notes: watermelon, where?? It’s citrusy, mayyybe a bit floral, definitely aquatic. Fresh, right out of the shower clean. Not a very complex perfume, pretty basic, almost generic, but that’s OK. It’s very soft and clean and I love it. EDIT: Just received this one today and immediately doused myself in it. The hubs likes it as well, but I have to say, I’m thinking of keeping it for myself.

Incredible fragrance. Big citrusy lavendar blast that overwhelms me frankly, but thankfully doesn't last and calms down to reveal a long, long, long (and I mean long) lasting lavendar-aquatic-sandalwoody vibe with just a teeny bit of sweet fruity-floral. Mens fragrance, but women can easily pull this off. Projection monster. It is so lovely in an old school way - like 80s upper class. Side note: friend who used to work at Creed told me two separate occasions when I wore this around her that she's convinced it's a Silver Mountain Water dupe - and a good one at that because it performs better. It is also a dream to layer with.

Decant review #5 Tester strip + Skin Man is this good in the opening, Got this like watermelon-grape, and fruit loops in a weird way. Though on skin it very quickly faded it was pretty much just the opening then it died in like 2 hours there's a faint skin scent but its barely perceivable. On tester its still alive and kicking so idk might be my skin. Testers dried down and its kind of a mix of the opening and the florals, pretty sure the lotus is the one pulling its weight. Really like it but ill have to give it another go with a full wear instead of just the wrist. Ill update the review when I've done that.

Sweet lavender, red fruits and watermelon in the open, very clean laundry ozonic middle that has taken on a bit of white floral notes now that it's been matured for two months. Due to the extrait strength it possesses an extremely long-lasting musky sandalwood ambroxan heavy base. It feels clear that they looked directly at Abercrombie & Fitch when constructing this and skipped other clone houses like PDM and Mont Blanc, but wanted to put an emphasis on the red fruit with very enhanced longevity for a freshie. This is a very easy one for me to love; I'm a fan of Fierce, of Mont Blanc Legend, and Vir Eximius.

This literally feels like sipping on a cold watermelon and lavender cocktail! From the very first spray, it gives off such an incredibly clean and uplifting vibe. What surprised me the most is the performance. Usually, fresh scents disappear quickly, but you can really feel the high oil concentration in this one—it sticks to the skin. It is rare to find a freshie with this kind of insane longevity. The sillage is massive; people definitely notice the clean trail you leave behind. If you are looking for a summer staple that doesn't compromise on power, this is it.
