Leather

Wow I am speechless. This opens with clean leather covered in a very light smoke. Why "clean”? Because the leather on its own does not smell overly rugged. Instead, it feels clean and slightly smoked. To give an abstract image, imagine a clean new leather couch in a basement where you hang out and light incense while you relax. As you keep doing this daily, the slightly sweet smoky smell slowly sticks to the leather couch. As it develops, I start getting white flowers mixed with something warm and slightly earthy, which I assume is saffron blended with myrrh or olibanum, though it is hard to tell. Some seasoning starts developing in the background, possibly thyme or basil. Occasionally I get a touch of fruit when I move my hand, maybe raspberry, but here the raspberry feels toned down. This smells beautiful, especially considering the price. I am not sure what “cheap smoke” some people are referring to. I have smelled perfumes from brands like Nasomatto, Orto Parisi, Amouage and others, and I can say this is not cheap smoke. It is closer to incense. If we compare this to Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, this does not come across as sharp. Tuscan Leather has a component that creates a sharp, piercing, cold, almost surgical smell. This one, on the other hand, feels more rounded, less smoky, and more focused on clean leather while also being warmer. That could be due to the higher oil concentration, which means it does not project as loudly, but it lasts a very long time. I can easily imagine ten hours. From my observation, if you apply more sprays, it can leave a slightly animalic trail, but only a tiny bit. I would not call this an animalic perfume. I would say this smells more elegant than Tuscan Leather, which I find slightly more rugged and animalic in comparison. Overall, it is an amazing perfume for the price. For my taste this smells too refined and balanced but it's definitely worth it. Truly an interesting perfume

This is a wonderful fragrance that is easily up there with the high-end designers and even some niche brands. A very well balanced composition that doesn't come with the usual caveats of products from Middle Eastern clone houses, no piercing alcohol explosion, no sharp synthetic notes in the opening, no off-putting qualities, it's just a very high quality fragrance that is perfect right out of the box. It projects very well and the longevity is also monstrous. The opening comes with a nice gourmand raspberry-vanilla accord together with the leather, that is not like very spicy or animalic stuff, reminds me a lot of Spicebomb Dark Leather just with the spices replaced by creamy-fruity vanillic notes. The leather itself is not very dark or offensive, it's like a luxurious new leather sofa or car interior, not natural hide or raw leather-like. After the first 30-40 mins the fruity vanilla takes more of a backseat role letting the leather come forward and take the spotlight and reaches its final balance of the fruity, gourmand and leather notes in about an hour, after that it doesn't change much. As I said, it's a performance beast, easily 10-12 hours on my skin. For me it's a perfect date night or cozy bar night out fragrance that leans very masculine, the composition is similar to Azzaro Forever Wanted Elixir, but of much higher quality (no harsh synthetic notes and much better balance of fruity and leather accords) and for much less money. It's more like a fall/winter evening fragrance but can work in early springtime too, especially evenings. Don't recommend it for hot weather months though. I got it for roughly 25 EUR and the quality it brings to the table for the price is just unbelievable.

Well, my adulation for this house continues. Leather is mind-blowingly good, and I mean I am speechless. At 39% volume this little 50ml bottle punches like a heavyweight and left a oil sheen on me for hours. The opening is sharp, sweet and beautiful raspberry with a slight barnyard oud "funk" (the funk fades rapidly though!) and after 25 minutes is still fruity, but the fruit is lifting the overall scent which has settled down to being a really luxurious leather smell, can't tell if it's dark leather or suede, but this is hands down 100% better than Tom Ford or any other leather scent I've tried. Still got the hint of barnyard "funk" (because the funk never dies, it just hits on the first beat) around it, very visceral almost lusty kind of "I HAVE GOT TO GET MORE INTO ME!" kind of reaction. Strength - Nuclear! I put two sprays on yesterday and I could still smell this 12 hours later. The drydown is where the magic truly happens on this, the backbone and structure of composition from Ahmed Al Maghribi have made them my favourite house. Run and grab a bottle of this!

It opens with a fruity vibe, kind of like raspberry (not too sweet, just enough). Then the funky animalic leather starts to come through. After a few minutes into the drydown, the animalic leather tones down and turns into a softer, suede-like leather. There’s also a little bit of sweetness to it (I think it’s from the amber) and a mild cedar-like woodiness. Be careful with the sprays, because this stuff is strong and long-lasting. It lasts days on my clothes and around 8 hours on my skin, so I think 3–5 sprays is more than enough.

10/10. My all time favorite leather based perfume. It only costs around $20 or less but smells richer. If you are into heavy leather note, you're definitely going to enjoy it. Performance wise, it lasts literally days and the projection is so strong so careful not to overspray in closed space. And Dear Fragrantica, would you please add more perfumes from this brand? there are a lot of old and new releases that are worth reviewing but I can't seem to find them listed in the website. Thanks!
