Musk & Leather

If perfumes had personalities, this one would be the quietly charismatic introvert of the bunch of Ahmed al Maghribi fragrances. It opens with a mellow trio-apricot, musk, and leather; like guests who arrived early to the dinner party but politely stood around the sofa as the host didn't offer them a seat. Meanwhile, vanilla, honey, cocoa, and cranberry loiter in the dry down, the latecomers who never quite steal the show but add a little depth to the evening. Nothing about this perfume is loud, daring or bold - moderate in its longevity on skin and clothing, soft in the scent cloud it creates that clings closely to you. Musk & Leather would be classed as being quietly effective in the realm of a passing thought of “did someone smell amazing just now?” Although lovely, it's been discontinued for a good reason - some perfume notes need microphones. A strong like for the books.

A clean and smooth musk, where musk is leading (cca 80%) the show. I get a clean white musk, while other notes support it. Initially the leather is pronounced, however, with time that is tempered by some fruity/vanillic aspects. At the drydown stage I find it tipping feminine. Good candidate for clean girl trend blind buy. I do not get anything animalic here. I tried a few musks in the last year and I found that the arabic approach is nicer, tend to be creamier as opposed to western musks that are more powdery/harsh in general. Today, I have L'eau Papier on my other wrist, and Musk Leather is much more blended and pleasant :)

Nose Note #537 Musk is leading, leather is backing. More feminine. Average performer. If you don't like musk and the sligtly unwashed genitalia smell, then this is not for you (or me). It's an easy scent, it's a light scent. If anything - it first reminded me 50% of Lacoste Pour Femme, and 50% of Musc Alize Comptoir Sud Pacifique. Apricot, leather, cranberry, honey? I'm practically only getting musk. It's a more niche version of Lacoste. It's definately feminine, not doubt about it. Oh, and quality is great!! 6.5/10, not bad, very effeminate

I won't say much, this smells fantastic, I got it for a wedding, tried it before the wedding to confirm its longevity and oh boy it disappointed so much, smells 10/10, longevity 1/10, and im being generous, exchanged it for vulcan sable
