Oud Classic

As is so often the case the notes listed here are incorrect. The notes from the manufacturers website state this is actually.......... Top - Spicy Floral (Saffron, Roses) Heart - Floral (White flowers) Base - Musky Woody (Cambodian oud, Musk, amber) Just magnificent....especially for the low price This was a shaky and unconvinced blind buy but thankfully Oud Classic has been welcomed into my heart immediately. The packaging and bottle look so cheap and awful, yet paradoxically contain an absolutely classy sophisticated gem. I love simple, clean, strong oud scents and this is exactly what you get.....nothing but excellence from first minute to last, smooth as silk and boldly arabian.........a delicious straight arabian oud with about 20% extra notes to add some interest and style....and its great for layering too. Its a gloriously bold slightly sweet and smoky genuine scent of aged real oud (for once!) with rose and saffron floral laid on a floral musk and amber base. Its unisex and a clean genuine oud scent. From first opening spray this stuff announces its presence assertively but not intrusively. Its mostly simple oud wood, with sweet rose overall, with a darker amber musk touch just making it a little more masculine friendly. Lasts about average time 6-7 hours depending on weather and climate, with average projection, good enough for me, its quite subtle. This might develop more as time goes by. LOVE this for the low price, but its nothing really new or original so far but might take months to blend due to its high oil concentration. Absolutely one for the mu'minoon...this is the perfect wear for the Masjid 8/10 from me

This one is rather difficult to review because it's so unlike many of the other frags I've tried. First we have to cover the elephant in the room: According to Swiss Arabian's website, Oud Classic doesn't contain oud. The break-down is thus: Top Notes: Fruity (Red Fruits. Mandarin, Bergamot) Middle Notes: Woody (Cedar Wood, Patchouli) Base Notes: Musky, Balsam (Musk, Benzoin, Vanilla) As you can see, a *huge* departure from Fragrantica's note break-down. But to review: This is a bright and clean frag, yet with a dark undertow. It's a night out for a swanky dinner then a metal show. Black thunder clouds creeping in on a sunny day. It's not an in-your-face fragrance, but there's a coiling darkness to it once it dries down. Definitely woody, with a slight sweetness, and something whispering of spices. I'm not getting animalic notes at all. It performs fantastic, and is full-bottle worthy. If you'd rather try before you buy, Swiss Arabian's "Shaghaf-Oud" website sells samples. (Note: Swiss Arabian recently rebranded to Maison d'Orient.)

This smells like a dry cleaning shop in the middle of a Middle Eastern bazaar with countless stalls where they sell fruit, spices, flowers etc., in the best way possible. At it's core Oud Classic is a minimalistic, slightly floral, clean and at the same time bold ambery oud fragrance with great performance. Don't smell it directly from your skin in the first couple of minutes though, that's all rotten flowers and fecal (it smells much better in the air then on paper or when directly sniffed off your skin anyway!) By no means my favorite fragrance from the overall awesome brand Ahmed Al Maghribi, but still a solid 8.9/10!

This is a rosey / peony oud fragrance that has some brown sugar notes and some light saffron to me. Wildly unisex and longevity and projection is phenomenal. An easy 10/10 Edit: I have been drawing comparisons - this is most literally the closest thing to Madawi with a stronger patchouli and oud for greatness dna - with an added lavender note? Smells soapy, fruity and somehow oud for greatness dna?

Let me explain is pretty hard.... A oud fragrance that has a nice oud very airy, is not harsh, if u want something with oud that is not that powerfull go for this.... The price is insane for 20 euro.... Is a decent 60-80 euro fragrance...

For me this is a more floral version of oud wood. Definitely quite a bit of florals kn the opening but loses them on the drydown. After that its similar to oud wood. Great performer. 9/10

Smooth oud fragrance with rose and some saffron. Notes dont match the fragrance. one of the most basic oud scents with moderate longevity and decent projection.

Simple yet elegant, potent yet inoffensive, cheap yet smells Expensive. Comes in 50ml but thats more than enough given the potency / quality.

It's more mainstream perfume rather than being niche. Solid 8.5

There is a AAM opening signature that their denser fragrances seem to have, I think this is prominent here, it's a bit messy on opening but I think it needs maceration, much like Endless. I expect it to smooth out in time. I don't think this is much like Bodecea Blue Sapphire, there doesn't seem to be much florals as of yet but they are hinted at at the dry down. I suspect this definitely needs a month of maceration for it become the accent that others below me have enjoyed. This smells a lot more alive on skin than on paper, lasts a long time too Opening is a little bit fecal. Smells a bit like Woody Oud and likely oud wood too. The flowers do come out as well as fruits.

The notes they mentioned are totally different from mine and also from Ahmed Al Maghribi's website. It's a beautiful, appealing, long-lasting fragrance at an affordable price. This is a no non sense perfume. Does it's job really nice. The outcome is slightly later but it's really nice .. performance in my bottle is slightly on the weaker side .. maybe laceration may help. Fingers crossed...

Tested this and white/caucasian people don't like it, but middle eastern people love it. Floral should be listed here, but anyway, if you're middle eastern then yes it's an 8/10

extremely unremarkable, would not get this unless i had no more than 20$ to spend and like 1 or 2 fragrances at most.

Frankly, I do not like this blend one bit. It comes across as an ambient aroma, not something that someone would apply to their skin to adorn for an entire day... and I am seriously stressing that ‘whole day’ because Oud Classic is a tattoo. Once applied, this stuff is a commitment so you better be privy to this smell or else you’re going to hate it, fast. Personally, I find this odor as wholly nauseating. It’s not necessarily an air freshener odor per say, just more along the lines of what the shopping malls smell of, or more specifically, what a high end department store would continually scent their ambient surroundings with via automated spray air freshener devices that are set to ‘spritz’ every half hour. And the blend is overtly feminine/mature in nature with white flowers, roses and a penetrating white musk absolutely dominating the entire scent pyramid. There’s not nearly enough Cambodian agarwood to set this blend anywhere near masculine territory, only a minuscule bit that doesn’t surface until many hours in. The whole affair becomes quite taxing and annoying to the nose rather quickly. The overall feel is a powdery/dusty and thick/heavy suffocating concoction that really is just obnoxious to be around because the sillage, potency and projection is utterly relentless. At a strength of a somewhat diluted concentrated perfume oil in spray form, the stout 44% denatured alcohol content provides more than ample lasting power well into the following day that I’m certain will achieve weeks on cloth. I can see this perfume causing instant olfactory fatigue to the wearer only further lending to the notion that the perfume is weak, however, Oud Classic will certainly be blowing doors clean off of their hinges while causing any humans in the general vicinity to scurry away rapidly, stink face and all.

I guess when Fragrantica is uncertain of the composition they just list it as containing several ouds. They did the exact same thing with Khalis Black Oud. As mentioned below by @Qortni, the notes are not as listed here. I confirmed her breakdown with the official print that came with my sample and she is 100% correct. Except that I don't get any of those notes either. It's mostly a strong and slightly sweet Saffron mixed with Oud to me. A usual and very repetitive middle eastern creation.

Oud comes out later maybe, however, all I smelled was everything but what was listed. This is very rose, fruit, floral forward with a hint of smokiness. Good quality, but not at all into rose scents. If you are, give this a go!
