Ahuja Pour Homme

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I like it. its a very mossy, citrussy, barbershop kind of fragrance. It smells like a wet forest when you smell it from the bottle, but once you spray it, it becomes a lot sharper and more citrus based. its good but nothing crazy, although I could see some guys really liking it if they want a more outdoors based barbershop scent. It has a small kind of sharpness to it that I don't like. I don't smell any vanilla, or pineapple or apple in it to be honest and the geranium is only very slightly there. It has a very nice pine scent that goes away 1 second after its sprayed. Overall I'd give it a 6/10. Most people I know like it and of the people I have asked they agree with my description of the fragrance. UPDATE: I have macerated this for about 4 months now and this has improved significantly. the first 2 months did nothing, then after 3 months it developed this sour smell that was very off-putting, and then now it has gone back to how it used to smell but with a far smoother blending and with the background notes now being finally noticeable. It no longer has this badly sharp citrus smell, it has smoothened out to now be this soft, mossy, citrus, slightly fruity fresh clean scent. definitely still a barbershop smell but one that is beautifully well done. the vanilla is now noticeable and it adds this very nice subtle creaminess to the entire fragrance, not at all overdone or too sweet. this would honestly be a pretty good signature scent I think for any age and for all seasons. The pineapple is also now quite noticeable, with maybe a little apple. I don't know all of the citruses they used for this, but grapefruit is definitely one of them and is the most noticeable. The pine smell that used to disappear after 1 second now lingers very subtly for the first 15 minutes and then fades away. The geranium adds this wonderful smelling rain-like quality to the scent and is honestly my favourite part. It's delicate yet bold, creamy yet crisp, and overall just really good. I'd probably bump up my rating to a 9/10 now, and for $40 CAD on amazon this is very good. This is better than Dolce and Gabbana light blue intense in my opinion and smells quite higher quality than Lattafa Khamrah, if that puts this fragrance into perspective for anyone.

Alright, this is my third time revisiting this fragrance and I really am not sure what to think. My previous review (which can be seen below) mentions how after maceration there was an off-putting smell that appeared, but later went away. Well shortly after I wrote that review, the smell came back, and it has not gone away again. It smells like the skin of a grapefruit that has become very pungent, sharp, and overpowering. It mixes very poorly with the pineapple, and creates a very smelly and bad, mossy, bowl of overripe fruit smell. I have noticed with some of my other fragrances too that maceration has only made them smell off and a lot worse, one of them being Cremo spice and black vanilla, which now smells disgusting and somehow like soggy cardamom. Overall I'd say it's a good fragrance if you don't mess with it. Just buy it and keep it how it is, and try not to let it sit for too long or else it will start to smell foul. I don't wear this stuff at all anymore because of how bad the smell has become, although I have noticed that it strangely layers kinda well with Afnan 9pm??? weird but whatever.
