Amber Musc

"Amber Musc" is one of the freshest and most exciting musk fragrances I've ever had. It starts with musk, musk and more musk. Fresh, solar and dragonfly-like (don't ask me about the latter - I just see the dragonflies dancing over the waterlilies in a woodland lake every time I spray it on). I do not believe that it is particularly synthetic, its richness does suggest a man-made molecule playing the part, nevertheless, it is neither nauseating, nor headache inducing and, most certainly, not overwhelming. The projection is beautiful, arm's length and wonderfully rich and expressive. Amber and rose are intertwined together and make their way into composition most carefully, in measured steps, exciting and raising anticipation of what a crescendo accord will be like. "Amber Musc" is a brilliant tease, cajoling, tempting and beguiling in its dance on one's skin. The closest I came to such a signature was "MusK by Musk" by Anfar 1950, however the latter is more masculine in its sharpness and intensity. "Amber Musc" is more floral and rounded, with rose and amber lending it their shimmering sweetness and glow, which make it simply enchanting. Sweetness grows with time, both rose and amber, but they never overpower or cloy the musk. Cedar is nothing short of a genius final accord, reinforcing the musk and lightness of the scent. It just ever so elegantly sharpens the edge and the fresh spiciness, as if the final slide of the blade by a katana master. "Amber Musc" is not only perfectly unisex, but also superbly versatile and amazing for layering with gourmand, floral and fruit notes at one's whim and fancy. It is a universal LBD and/or a black tuxedo that can be paired, dissected and reassembled with ease and it will always come out perfect. P.S. I do not usually pay heed to presentation and bottling, but I must admit, for the price of the perfume - both are beyond and above. Now I definitely have Ajmal in my sight and will be following their creations with greater attention and interest than before.

When I first got this, the cedar note seemed to dominate the whole perfume and it came off a little synthetic.So, I put it up for sale on Mercari. I revisited it after a little over 3 months and snatched it right down off Mercari ASAP. It’s absolutely beautiful. All the notes are complementing each other. It’s a soft, wispy fragrance. Clean and understated. Grown woman vibes for sure...

You get what you pay for with Ajmal and they are known for using quality ingredients. Issue with natural is there can be some variation but only slight. The main accords are still there and this one is definitely more neutral maybe more feminine in its intent. Lovely fragrance which will last for some time.

To imagine how Ajmal’s Amber Musc smells is to consider the aroma of a rose-laced luxury frou-frou-something you’d expect to find in premium bath and body lines tucked away in select duty-free boutiques across luxe airports in Asia and the Middle East. It’s creamy and quietly confident, a scent composed not to shout across a room but to waft and tickle select noses through close proximity. Like its sibling Violet Musc, it plays out a smooth register-but Amber Musc trails much softer, with (un)noticeably gentler sillage and more fleeting longevity. The opening of AM is plush - an impression of non-descript roses (unsure of its exact variant), layered over delicate musk and just a whisper of cedar. The ‘Amber’ in its name feels like a misnomer; 'Rose Musc' would be far more telling - reformulated maybe? Still, despite that confusion in labelling, what AM offers is a tender, clean expression of a timeless pairing often seen in feminine bath and body products. It may lack the lasting impact and memorability of Violet Musc, yet it holds its own- think subtle, think 'clean girl' aesthetique. Although AM is excellent in its own right, it is not comparable to what I have experienced with its compatriot, Violet Musc. Still, it earns its place, and its praise-through understated grace as a strong like for my books.

To me this sort of smells medicinal ...like being in a doctor office. I like the notes, well blended and on top of that it feels cozy when I worn on a cold day. It lasts the entire day and it is a fragrance for both men and woman

The perfume is very rosy and somehow delicate, cosmetic-like. Very comforting and close to the skin. I enjoy it in the days when I need to connect with myself without to feel lost or distracted.

Amber Musc is a creamy, musk in the style of Junoon, Junoon Rose and Musk Mood. Lasts all day. Dries down to become a close, warm creamy fragrance more suited to winter and transitional seasons.

I am rather new to fragrance but rather recently I purchased a dozen or so samples... one of these was amber musk by ajmal.. I don't want to put it down, but some floral combinations make me nauseous. this was one of those.

If you want to envision how Ajmal Amber Musc smells like, look no further then the main accord tab under the AJMAL house logo here on fragrantica. You see the light purple slider with "Musky" written on it? Thats the color that represents this scent. A more suiting name would have been "Rose Musc", the rose being the main floral accord found in this fragrance. Its a really light and transparent rose. Musk obviously being the other key player in this composition, it brightens everything up even more, hence the "light purple" impression, turning it almost "white". Bottle coloring is well chosen. I cannot detect the amber or woody note in this fragrance, but the creamyness mentioned by others before me is there, and it can make the scent nauseating to certain noses. The slightly soapy aspects of the rose coupled with the musk can come across as medicinal to others but i'd rather use the word "sterile". It is a feminine scent, i do not see it suiting a man at all. A very pure, reserved, delicate, airy, transparent and light composition. I imagine it would perfectly fit a woman wearing a white dress, would also go well with pastel colored attires. Performance wise, even tho its a delicate feminine scent profile, i don't think its a simple skin scent. I believe it has presence, just not an intrusive and brash projection. It wouldn't suit the fragrance DNA anyways. Its there to dance around the noses of those around you and not to uppercut the nostrils.

The presentation of this perfume is very luxurious but I was very disappointed with the perfume. I was expecting musk and woody rose but what I got was sharp, masculine woods with very little musk, no rose and very little amber. It set my allergies off big time: eyes streaming, asthma and now I have a migraine. I am really sad about it. The name is super-misleading. Perhaps I got a dud batch. Major scrubber

Amazing, musky yet crispy. If you're looking for a scent which can become your signature-worth going for. It's crispy upon the first spray, then it evolves into more oriental feeling. I sprayed it on my suede bracelet and after 24 hours the scent is still there, with a prominent hint of rose. Feminine and masculine at the same time, attractive and seductive.

Feminine and synthetic...just get musk therapy or other choices this is not very good.
