Amir Two

This is an Oud perfume that challenges the likes of Dominique Ropion al layl (The night) by Fredric Malle. I went to a Perfume event in Melbourne and I took a couple of my favourite perfumes and one lovely bloke brought in The night by Frederic malle which is very difficult to get in Australia, he was kind enough for me to spray it on my arm and I immediately was amazed by it. However, let me tell you that Amir 2 is one of those perfumes that lasts longer than the night and performs better in projection. This Perfume made by Ajmal is insanely amazing & Amir 2 is actually a Masterpiece of a perfume. Even though I have Amir 1 which is also fantastic but this is on a whole another level, it is so opulent, Dense, Heavy, Masculine, Regal and Absurdly addictive that it plays with your senses. Dont treat this perfume as your French perfumery where you apply it on a strip of paper and put your nose on it straight away, I guarantee you will not like it, this perfume demands to be treated like classic oriental middle eastern and artisanal perfumery. When you apply it on skin or clothes let it do its thing and leave it alone, you will be engulfed by the majestic fragrance. How does this smell you ask... well, Firstly if you are not use to understanding complex Oud fragrance I would advise you to go get Amir 1 instead, but if you are one of the few who would admire this masterpiece then let me tell you, that you are in for a treat ! because this perfume is heavy in its oud presence, the oud is the main player here, its the Indian oud that is there at the top but let it do its magic and after 3 - 4 hours the heart notes come in which is this leathery, Oudy, Resinous with earthy pachouli after the 6 - 8 hours the heart notes are still there but the base of the perfumes kicks in also that Oud is there through and through and you will get whiffs of musk, oud and something slight smokey like burning oud chips or a very high quality Bahkoor. This perfume is not for everyone, its for people who admire oud and its finer nuances, FYI 24 hours is nothing for this fragrance. I will get a back up bottle before they reformulate it.

Amir Two opens with a fresh–spicy spark: nutmeg, ginger, pepper, rose, and geranium are all brought together to form a lively (or incendiary) start, which is undeniably sharp. The pepper et rose combo bites for sure, but it is contemporarily softened by a certain herbal‐green geranium lift. Think of it as the start of the engine... As AT develops, the composition deepens. Amber and cypriol unfurl like warm air, sticky and resinous but not syrupy. Patchouli adds an earthy chewiness, toning down the brightness from the opening. Then the final act arrives: a phase where balsamic oud and incense make Amir Two go full throttle, and some people will inevitably get caught off guard. The oud is smooth and convincingly natural, far from what you can find in westernised interpretations. Smoky and resinous with just enough sweetness to keep things plush rather than punishing. Performance lands around 8+ hours with moderate projection, making it substantial but not anti‐social. If you're unsure, only spray under your clothes to contain your "aura". Value‐wise, Amir Two punches absurdly above its price bracket... the kind of quality‐to‐price ratio that would indeed cost triple if it was packaged in a more "mainstream" label. Rich, unashamedly oud‐forward and complex enough to wear solo: if Amir Two is “trash,” I'm ready to immolate myself in this dumpster fire.

This was a huge risky blind buy. I want to love oud, and more importantly I want my GF to like barnyardy ouds on me too. This one might the one to do it for both of us. The oud is strong and animalic in the opening. The bright spices sing alongside the opening oud too but are hard for me to distinguish between. Florals are there initially but are quick to fade. This is not a rose forward oud / floral combo by the way. The rose doesn’t stick around too much. It’s surprisingly quick to dry down on my skin and really settles into a deeply warm, woody skin scent. The cypriol and incense provides a smokiness that perfectly accompanies a “wooden drawer” effect that you’d get from the base accords. The musk is not dominant but plays a harmonising role for the woods and the oud. Regarding overall presentation, it is so wonderfully blended and regal just like it’s name suggests. This is so so so unbelievably well made. Might be one of my all time favs right here. Expensive but seriously worth it. You want your man to smell like this

This was love at first sniff. Opulent oud with a lot of spices and a floral and woody background. On my skin, a high quality dry oud with nutmeg are the most prominent notes throughout the perfume's life. The rose is sutil and the spices are a bit pungent giving a strong overall character. It's obviously a woody scent, very woody. It has a similar oud profile of Mukhallat al Shams but Amir Two is more complex. There's a lot more going on. This is not animalic at all. It's leathery, dark, bold, dry, woodsy, earthy. It's too "nice" for that tag. "Animalic" is not a property of indian oud according to my experience. Royal and powerful perfume perfect for special ocassions. Scent: 10/10 Performance: 10/10 Presentation: 10/10 Versatility: 5/10 My favourite thing about Amir One and Two is the constant movement of the ingredients in the air. They feel "alive" and everytime you wear them you can pick up a different nuance. Exquistely blended with high quality ingredients. I can't wait for a "Amir Three" or "Four".

Everything about this fragrance exudes luxury. The quality of the presentation, bottle and juice for the price (£100 on Notino) makes this an absolute no brainer. This fragrance opens up rather barnyardy but still carries the element of class and upholds its quality. (If anyone knows a fragrance that smells like the opening of this, please let me know). 10-15 minutes later it dries down and the oud loses its barnyard aspect and turns smokey, allowing you to detect more of the nutmeg and spices. Hours later when it’s fully dried down you’re left with green notes with warm smokey oud in the background. This gave me around 18 hours on skin. That’s post shower and attempting to cover it up with another strong fragrance as I didn’t intend to test it that day. However the projection isn’t anything crazy you’ll get wafts of it throughout the day after the first 2-3 hours it’s a level above a skin scent.

If you are an Oud lover, this is the one to get. I have smelled a lot of Oud from pure, 100%, Oud to many Mixes and variations of Oud. From the house of Ajmal, this is the best Oud I have smelled. It has a very refined and luxurious smell. This perfume is NOT for women or someone who can not appreciate genuine Oud. To them, this will smell like barn yard or very animalic. In my opinion, this is more refined than pure Oud, but does not fall into the category of rose oud, or sweet oud smells like Oud for greatness. It is a perfect blend in the middle. Projection/sillage: Easily 24 hours on skin or clothes. Sometimes even days on clothes. For the first 4-6 hours, it has an easily noticeable bubble. I would say up to a meter for six hours. After that it becomes a intimate smell. Someone who comes very close to you will smell it.

In short - beautiful scent - but in a dry down. Don't judge this perfume in 1st 2-3 minutes. This is probably one of the best (amongst very few) from the house of Ajmal. From price prospective, i would say it should have been 70ml at least in this price. Highly recommended for those who like oud, and you can wear this in office as well. P.S. One of the reviewer here said that it smells like Bois Imperial mixed with oud. In the dry down (after 3-4 hours) i feel same, in fact that barnyardy oud settles down within an hour or less than that, after that the whiffs remind me off Bois Imperial. Bois lasts longer than AMIR 2 BTW....

Oh yes. I let it sink in for a full month before reviewing but this is drop dead gorgeous. Contrary to Amir One, this doesnt just smell like dehn al oud and nothing (or little) less. You can actually feel the musk and the gurjan balsam making the bed for the assamese oud, and a good sweet cypriol and a little patch with it. Cant really get much of the other notes as they’re fleeting. Sweetly animalic but not poopy, i imagine it more like the natural scent of a capybara (which i never met in real life) I imagine it to be like this fragrance: natural, musky, hay-ridden, effortlessly regal. A bigggg yes for 100€

Its a rose patchouli oud a little spicy though instead of the usual sweetened combos. Very nice you can smell the rose and patchouli with a present and noticeable oud which remains far behind the rose and patch but is still always there. Ajmal’s best work ever IMO. At a sale or an offer price this would be amazing value but retail at $180 I find this fairly priced. Of course you feel the ingredients of this handsome concoction are at a significant premium to most western brands even most niche brands.

Extremely high quality blend. Smoked, spiced, dry and animalic hindi-esqe oud - rounded out by a beautiful and light musk. Very opulent air trail that garners compliments from even oud-naive folks. Agreed with the moderate longevity, however. Beautiful bottle.

This shocked me, animalic, luxury blend. Seriously good quality fragrance with a dry oud, the ginger rounds this off for me. Longevity is good, around 7 hours. I picked this up for £90 so if you can find at a discounter i would defo pick it up

Animalic, Luxurious, Regal, Classy, Sophisticated. These are words I can use to describe how good this juice is. I just makes me feel a kinda way. I love it.

It's great. But you need to be admirer of Indian oud.

Home run. Wow. Doesn't last though.

Got this from an ebayer, it's nice but it's weak. Amir one is about the same on me. None of them are beasts. They are both nice but not much projection. Amir one did last 8 hrs. with moderate wafts. Amir two is two to three hours in and weak but what is left does indeed smell nice. Disappointed. I'll stick with Bortnikoff oud Maximus and Laos Oud and some of my Areej la Dore's. Edit: I found a place online selling this for $79 that's more reflective of the real value of this weak bottle I have that I bought from a reputable eBay seller that buys straight from Ajmal.

As other reviews said, Amir Two starts off stinky for about 15 minutes. But then it transforms into a majestic aromatic tree trunk. This is not your clean cedarwood or sandalwood, but rather a dirty, earthy stump in the middle of a dense forest. There's something warm and powerful about it. Oud is the dominant note throughout the wear experience. Forget the note pyramid, top notes are nonexistent. It's complex but also a bit monotonal. Because of that, I think this works better for layering rather than solo wear.

For the first 15 minutes it is crazy strong, maybe even unbearable, I thought to myself, I'd never buy this. But then an hour later it gets better, 2 hours later it becomes very welcoming, warmth, unique, complex, intimate, inviting, I've rarely seen a perfume go from unbearable to super nice like this one does. Now it's on my buy list. Projection 9/10 Longevity 10/10 Silage 8/10

Upon first testing i will say it have some similarities with Frederic Malle, not the Desert gems series but Uncut gem. They have both ginger and nutmeg in topnotes. They both have somehow similar this fresh spicy accord, this fresh electric/ozonic citrusy feeling, despite amir is without citruses. Masculine spices are very prominent and medium sharp,the oud is creating sphere around the spices which are inside of this velvety oud sphere. There is also smokey, incensy quality around it. The oud is definitely there, but all ingredients are balanced well, so i can pick it up as solo ingredient only in the beginning. There are also some florals, the bubble gum quality of it reminds me jasmine from Oud de grand from Feel oud (maybe this “bubble gum” feeling just come from oud with combination of other ingredients) The first hour is uber masculine, what is good point for me its that after 1-2 hours its not so strong. Im not the type of guy who like to his fragrance scream and all the people around you are noticing you, i like to be “hided” in my own corner. Despide this fact i will not say it develops in to the skin scent very fast, its moderate / more strong for 2-3 hours and after its little bit more than skin scent. ( didnt wear any fragrance for 3 weeks, after i applied Amir and it was definitely traceable after 8 hours, so that Amir is weak is not really true) The opening is like roullete of smells, all ingredients are rotating and you can smell all of them in different order and combinations. You can find it for really good price, mine was 100 euros. At this price point the presentation, all materials, bottle, packaging and smell itself is incomparable with regural designer brands. It seems every wearing is other ingredient more in the foreground. First wearing it was all about pepper and nutmeg incense and oud, second time im getting more florals with ambergris and musk. It somehow smells like western fragrance laying on middle eastern pillow. The negative thing is, that sometimes at dry down you can smell this weird incense which is not really pleasant, need to test it more to understand why is that happening.

Love at first sniff! Wow. This is an animal. This is just.... Wonderful. If you are new to fine fragrance or if you are u accustomed to Eastern perfumery you will likely hate it but if you are a connoisseur you will find lots and lots to appreciate here. Oh I just fell in love with myself. Oh my word this just keeps getting better and better. On my skin this opening is very animalic in an ambergrissy, musky, modern musky, oudhy, leathery, civety(?) way. Oh gosh I love this infinitely. The packaging is top notch, too. This is wonderful. Hard to describe, will ruminate and follow up... It smells a bit like sexual abandon, a bit like leather, a bit like opening a new toy at Xmas, a lot like an animal, a bit like a luxury spacecraft, this is NEXT LEVEL chic

I finally managed to sample Amir 2 and in short - this is a bit less complex Epic Man by Amouage but with an added oud touch thats in line with what was used in Epic. When i say less complex - i mean that its not as caleidoscopic and full of definitions between notes as epic, but it is a pleasant, masculine leaning fragrance with gentle touch of white pepper, nutmeg, maybe touch of rose but mostly green geranium all wrapped up in woodsy notes and oud. Oud here is not super funky, well measured, well blended and adds that touch of middle east flair to the blend. Its higher quality than Shams. Once i am able to find it at a decent price i will surely add it to my wardrobe :) great stuff

There's some vetiver in this as well. I get burnt animalic oud like the one in amouage silver oud mixed with vetiver and nutmeg. The patchouli is in the background. Florals are just there to give this a little depth. It's fresh and dark. Wow. Top 5 oud for me. Call me mad, but this smells like bois imperial mixed with indian animalic oud. Edit: yup, asked my partner to compare the far dry down of this to bois and she found it incredibly similar. Once the oud dies away, you're left with that. Perfect 10/10 for me.

I had tried this masterpiece couple of times at the Ajmal store and finally got it today. Its a beautiful fragrance, polarizing profile so not everyone is going to be a fan of the blend. Masculine fragrance with top quality aged Hindi(Indian) oud. Slightly on the expensive side considering that its a 50ml bottle but you need to have this if you're a fan of animalic oud. Projection- 9/10 Longevity- 8/10 Scent profile- 9/10 Silage- 8/10 Presentation- 10/10 Price- 7/10

This is very nice. A playful oud parfum. It screams quality. It has really good performance as well. There is some animalic facade of the oud, but it is mostly pleasant dry woody oud . My only problem with this ; classic parfum pyramid doesn’t work. Everything comes out of the gate at once, then slowly oud dominates everything. There is nice smokey note at the beginning for instance. I will enjoy using this.

@Samasama I'm glad you see it as a masterpiece perfume now :)) If you are searching for a more detailed nuanced perfume I would recommend Ether from Xerjoff
