Elixir Intense

As the other review mentioned, I am not sure why this perfume is so hard to come by. Very rarely do my wife and I agree on a fragrance, and this one hit the nail on the head. Being in Dubai, I smelled a variety of Ajmal fragrances at their store in the Dubai Mall. This one stood out, and I just had to have it. Come to find out later on that it was like finding a needle in a haystack, as it’s not even available on Ajmal’s website, nor anywhere else online. If you find yourself in Dubai, I would 100% recommend checking this one out.

Linear spicy amber and musk scent, imagine black pepper, sweet ambery notes, synthetic musk note mixed with a hint of ambroxan, aromatic and incensey notes. Lasts 24 hours and projects alot for 12+ hours, one of the most nuclear scents I have ever tried.

Blind bought this based on these few reviews here. Well it’s nice but nothing great especially when you keep the steep price in mind. I paid like around 100$ thinking it’s a great deal on discount as it was the last piece on 40% off. Now I feel it’s still expensive for what it is. Should not be more than 60-70 $ max. Now coming to the smell.. it’s an ambroxan bomb with some amber and pepper notes combining to give this a nutty feel somewhat reminding me of distant Thomas khosmala no 10. I guess this is the new hit trend to pair a few natural ingredients with some synthetic chemicals and aromas. Performance was pretty good as one would expect from most of the middle eastern houses

Finally on Fragrantica...And this was released much earlier than what it says here, at least I smelled Elixir Intense in Dubai Ajmal boutique in 2019, I believe that is also the release year. I don't know why it took so long to hit world markets, it is still very rare to come by. Now here's a review from memory so take it with a grain of salt. I remember thinking it was in the same vein of Ajmal - Amber Wood or Arabian Oud - Signature. The black pepper note was quite heavy, piercing and charming with herbs like sage and thyme. The amber facet was smelling like one of those nuclear dry amber wood molecules, in the vein of Ambrocenide / Ambermax in combination with rich musks like Cashmeran. For anyone who traveled to Dubai, this amber-musk note I am trying to describe will not be anything new. Almost every perfume brand, small or big, has a scent with the same accord. Even some shopping malls have the same accord in their ambient-scent. Actually, Initio Oud for Greatness is also based on the same amber-musk accord. At the time I remember loving it and considering a full bottle (but didn't have space in my luggage) - of course since then a lot of amber-heavy fragrances with the eastern touch have been released, so maybe if I smell it again now I wouldn't find it original and full bottle worthy.

I'm in the perfumes business so many years. I have hundreds of fragrances but this one is the best of all time!
