Hatkora Wood

This is a smoky, dark oud, with a somewhat bitter, dry citrus accord and alluring powderiness. I was expecting a clearer lemon note than I got, which is fine by me. The oud here is so deep and powerful, not medicinal or sharp at all. I suspect it is not synthetic oud (at least in the batch I got). Smelling it, I experience heady, exotic incenses and decadence. Bold, low-key aggressive, industrial, yet still refined, this fragrance needs the right personality. I can imagine it being too intense for some. I, however, really love it. Masculine-leaning unisex, though I wear it proudly. It firmly falls into the category of "beast mode" fragrances. The longevity is unreal, with just one spray *on my skin*-- it lasted more than 12 hours. The scent develops quickly and remains pretty linear. Funny note: Hatkora Wood is now the personal fragrance of my Caucasian shepherd, who selected a sample of it from a large lineup and rolled all over it in an effort to perfume himself with it. I'd say that's a strong endorsement from a keen a discerning nose. A note on batches: My bottle is from 5/2019. Some reviews of 2020 batches suggest there was a bad batch, which seems likely-- or possibly a proliferation of counterfeits at that time. I suspect there may have been shortages of the fragrance's usual ingredients in 2020 that affected quality. I just recently bought my bottle from a retailer, so earlier, excellent versions are still available.)

#1462 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. Ajmal consistently has one thing going for it: quality. Solid all day longevity and powerful sillage are what comes to mind when I think of Ajmal. The potency of this scent is likewise impressive. There are a lot of scents out there with all these notes but without the haktora and peach. The hint of lemon here is not the dry and screechy sour of a L'eau d'Issey or Acqua di Gio, but smooth and pleasant. I honestly can't detect the peach note. Mostly a ton of saffron, amber and mild woods. I think a birch note would really have set this off. But it's a great scent with a potency you usually get only by adding myrrh and olibanum. If you have Pana Dora's "Oud Republic", Lattafa "Ra'ed Oud" or "Khalta Blend", Montale "Aoud Lavender", Molinard "Cuir Eau de Parfum", Nicolai Parfumeur Createur "Amber Oud", Afnan "Edict Ouddiction", Fragrance World "Ameer Al Oud Arabian Noir", you've kinda already got this covered. I own half of these, have tried them all, and the potency of this Ajmal scent smokes all of that competition. It lasts all day long and into the next day, but because it's more saffron than oud, and contains no incense, it's certain to get noticed but probably without offending anyone. Definite bottle buy for me.

11/11/2025: This is an outstanding fragrance!!! It's very unique to my collection as I have nothing that smells like this. Over the few weeks I've had this, the longevity and performance has improved significantly. Before, I had to bury my nose into my arm to smell it after 6 hours. Now, it effortlessly carries for about 9 to 10 hours. I've never had a sandalwood fragrance like this, much less the Haktora lemon accord. That punch of woodiness that may have came off slightly funky is gone, although it didn't bother me. I'm wearing this in pretty cold weather today and it's charging full steam ahead. The notes I get that are most prominent are the hatkora lemon, sandalwood, ginger, and musk. The smell is congruent on blotter and clothes as well as the skin...but something a lil extra for the skin. I won't hype this more than I have because I don't don't want a lot of people smelling like me lol. Beautiful fragrance! Projection: 10 Longevity: 10 Scent: 1000 Price: 1000 Overall: broken scale

A breathtakingly gorgeous Citrus Oud fragrance unlike anything I have seen in modern perfumery, this bright and lively juice showcases the potency of semi-wild citrus (Hatkora) oil which is primarily grown in Northeastern India, an amazingly potent fruit peel that yields an amazingly haunting oil never before used in perfumery. This beauty opens with the gorgeous Hatkora lemon (stays throughout period of perfume) and peach and then proceeds to a brief middle comprising of rose, ginger, saffron and lavender before settling into a powdery and somewhat animalic base with Oud, ambergris, musk, and amber with the lemon still potently hanging firmly in the mix. The combination of the Hatkora lemon with the Oud is so unique and so refreshing which makes this one Oud scent you can easily wear in hot and sultry weather. Tremendous projection, sillage, and very good longevity. This is a masterpiece!

This is a stunner. Love at first sniff. So easy to use! I'm not a big fan of citruses, but this hatkora note is just marvelous. The robust woody base is perfectly balanced with the top notes and the spices give an intoxicating aromatic nuance. The sweetness of saffron is the perfect addition to this concoction. I think sandalwood and musk are very prominent with some other pungent woods. I can ́t smell any oud to be honest. There's an ambergris undertone so gorgeous! This note reminds me a lot of Amir One from the same house. Hatkora Wood sometimes smells clean, sometimes smells dirty, but always smells good. So good. I think it's a signature scent worthy. Good projection, excellent sillage and longevity. Versatility at its best. 10/10 for me. PS: My girlfriend loves it... and my dad tried to stole it from me! lol
