Incense Wood

I got a sample of this from a lovely fragrance friend and must say, this perfume is beautiful! It starts off strong with the Bergamot and Saffron, but it's not too strong or masculine that a woman couldn't wear it! As a woman myself; I quite adore this fragrance! I do despise pink pepper, and it definitely comes in strong after the first 30 seconds; but thankfully fades away rather quickly. Pink pepper creates a weird sour & stinky note for my nose; so I prefer to stay away from it in my fragrances The heart of this fragrance is to die for. Its mature and sexy, yet not cloying or overwhelming because of the bergamot balancing it still in the background. The sandalwood and incense both match each other in prominence and I'd say the incense is only a tad bit stronger. The patchouli is soft and certainly not the focus of the fragrance - which I appreciate. The musk and vanilla blend wonderfully into the final dry-down. It's a comforting and sensual skin scent by the end. So! Let's do the final TLDR! Wow, I really like Incense Wood. I bought it several months ago, tried it a few times and didn't pick it up again until today. Back then, it was very a very sharp amber scent (which I still liked), somewhat like YSL M7. I haven't smelled Amber Wood before, but I imagine it smelled very close to what Amber Wood probably smells like. Now, though, after letting it sit for almost a half year, it is a lot smoother, less "sour" (for lack of a better term), almost a little sweet with the bergamot really coming through much more than before, when it was undetectable. Incense Wood went from being a dark, evening-type fragrance to a much more versatile everyday wear. I'm only a little worried that some of the projection may have been sacrificed, since, at first blush, it seems to have gone from really strong (almost too strong) to, now, not as noticeable. But maybe I'm just getting nose blind. I'll continue to test. Hopefully all of Ajmal's fragrances develop the same way -- I also purchased a bottle of Hotkoru Wood and it's unfortunately very synthetic smelling. If it matures like Incense Wood did, though, I'm in for a pleasant surprise.

My fourth higher-end Ajmal fragrance is no less impressive than the others. (I own and have reviewed Hatkora Wood, Rose Wood, and Amber Poivre, too.) It is a potent, hypnotic, dark, incense-filled fever dream of some sort of fantasy harem. It is evocative of forbidden indulgences. The predominant notes are incense, cashmere wood, frankincense, and patchouli. Vanilla has a faint presence, but the rest of the notes are subtle or indiscernible altogether. It is bold upon first spray with a linear evolution. It doesn’t transform much at all, which is good in this case because the opening is fantastic. It takes something special for me to rate a fragrance a “love” (which would be a 9 or 10 on a scale of 1-10). Indeed, few fragrances earn such a rating from me, but this is one of them. The projection is quite strong and the longevity is good, too. It is easy to overspray. Dark and unisex. My bottle is a 01/2020 batch.

It's unisex - quite appropriate for anyone who appreciates traditional incense. It seems like a mix of church, middle eastern, and Indian incense. The addition of smoky woods makes this more realistic than the CDG collection (I like those, btw). I layer this with powdery florals and/or vanilla when I want a softer, yet sultry incense. Floranilla is a recent successful layering. I only need one full spray to last 7 hours. I am not into "beast mode" but with three full sprays, this surely will gather attention. It's a great value. My suggestion is don't overpay for this. Legit bottles have been found from $70.00 to $95.00, and I'd use this range as a guide. I've seen cheaper prices but I wouldn't suggest them. One lady bought a $52.00 bottle, but the perfume was weak and watery. Buy from a reliable seller. 9/10

I am a female and this is my favorite perfume of all time since 2019. I have visited the Ajmal store in Dubai and initially wanted to buy the Hatkora wood as I smelled it on somebody and it smelled awesome. However, I discovered this one instead and since then I am in love with the scent. I feel it will smell as awesome on both genders. Both a man or a woman can rock this scent. It smells very royal and luxuriousness. Definitely worth every dollar I paid for it. Also, it has one of the best longevity I have ever seen and would easily last on my cloths for months and even years in my closet. I definitely would give this perfume a 20/10. Just Amazing!!!
