Patchouli

This is wonderfull. Really a wonderfull fragrance. You can easily compare the quality of this collection with any other high end niche brands like roja or amouage etc. You will get the beauty from the natural elements from this masterpiece. i would love to have the whole collection. Scent breakdown for my nose, the opening has it all, patchouli, woods and animalic oud. The opening is wonderfull to me. Unfortunately the oud fades away quickly and it breaks my heart. The mid-drydown is my least favorite i think. The patchouli takes the stage in this phase and reminds you that its from the mint family and acts like that. It kind of hits your nose with a sharp minty way. And the drydown, finally the sharpness from the patchouli is gone and chocolaty-earthy character is all it has. This is better to my nose its warm and cozy. Edit: Ok now i've been testing this out ever since i got it has been a pleasure using this. I think its because of the patchouli i am getting strong quality chocolate vibes from it and the slight wetness from oud (i usually dont like fragrances smell wet like intense oud from gucci) and combined the two, its great. And one other thing for this collection they all intrucing a new sense to the fragrance lovers and i believe its an important thing considering the fact that all so called niche houses are replicating each other. So yeah go and try this beautiful artwork of a collection. Give it a try you gonna like it.

Even by the Purely Orient standard of strength, this is absolutely ultra-nuclear. It's by far the most complex of the ones I've smelled from this line, an absolute olfactory cacophony. As for the scent, it's exactly as the pyramid would suggest. Normally I find Ajmal's oud to be instantly recognisable, but here is seems slight more dark and evil, not exactly more skanky than before, but when put my nose against my skin, there's something getting the back of my nose which reminds me of smelling a really stinky raw cheese. I think it might be some effect of the very pronounced nutmeg plus the oud, almost a smelling salts kind of effect, but not enough to make it off-putting. The vetiver is rough as a badger's arse crack, and smells very earthy and musty. The patchouli is what I perceive the least, although when I concentrate it's also very strong and very dank. Smoke on dirt on rough woods (natural smelling though). The rose is there, delicate but bright and playful, like a sole colour element in an otherwise black and white photo. Providing a little jammy cheek, booping you on the nose as if to say, no no, it's not all dank darkness! This is a perfume it'll take me many wears to figure out. A sure work of art, and the least accesible scent in the line in my opinion. ---- Next morning it's still projecting, and smells like Coromandel!

Purely Orient Patchouli is a spicy, dark, oudy patchouli fragrance with beastly performance. The palisander rosewood, spices, and oud play strong supporting roles for a wonderfully realistic, richly textured patchouli. This is for folks who love bold, dark, oriental niche. Not a safe blind buy for designer / conventional sensibilities. It is unisex, perhaps leaning a bit masculine, but it isn’t cologne-y or a stereotypical “guy” scent. I’m more than happy to wear it. It has impressive sillage and great longevity.

This is the second perfume I have from the Purely Orient collection, along with Tonka, and for me it is the best of the entire collection. It is a modern, very masculine, powerful scent that leaves a considerable trail and for me it is very addictive. It is not at all the kind of patchouli that we can find in Profumum Roma or Jovoys, which have this note enhanced to infinity. Here we find something subtle adorned by other high-quality woody notes.

Patchouli reference fragrance, with patchouli in the heart, complemented by basil and cardamom. Oud and woods form the base, earthy rather than sweet, with citrus and subtle rose notes.
