Regina

Definitely one of my new favourites. Unless you're well acquainted with your own skin chemistry and can read pyramids like your first ABC's, do not blind buy. While it seems relatively straightforward, the fragrance has a tendency to become sour on some and jaw-breakingly sweet on others. From what I understand Regina is supposed to be a sensual boozy plum- Rose with a warm woody- Amber dry down. Which, thank whatever deity, is exactly how it smells on me. The plums and roses are definitely the strongest notes in this perfume, so if that's not your thing, best stay away. In the opening - the sweetest moment - you get a more jammy rose, which turns very fast into a slight boozy combination of ripe plums and luscious red roses with a plate of milk chocolates next to it. The mahogany acts almost like a solar note, giving everything a warm hug and a slight spicyness reminiscent of light ginger. When the amber steps in it becomes even more sensual and by that time you will still have some sweetness, but it's all balanced out. EDIT AUG 31ST 2023 Once Regina has been standing longer on the shelves the plum, amber and rose become the loudest trio in a sultry-sweet way. While the praline was noticeable at first, it was merely a softer extra touch. Now it is a note that definitely swims around in the scent bubble, probably making this Regina as syrupy as she is: love! Funny thing: I can absolutely smell it around me, as part of the overall blend, but once I dive skin to nose she becomes softer again. Neat trick! I've never gotten the passionfruit - thank heavens - and didn't get it after a thoroughly macerated juice either. (End EDIT) This is absolutely a fragrance for a mature woman who knows who she is and who is confident in her sexuality, but that woman can definitely be in her early twenties as well as in her fifties, for example. It's a shame the longevity is really not that great. In Spring and summer I get 3-4hrs and a faint skin scent after that. In Autumn - when Regina shines imho - she can give me even less when it's cold: 2 hours before skin scent. (Disclaimer though: my skin is very dry and has a perfume eating chemistry. This outcome is average). The projection and sillage are above average just after spraying, but take a nose dive after the first hour. EDIT: projection and longevity both have improved a tad with its maceration, but never expect beastmode from Regina. Honestly: the strength is pretty okay and suits the scent. Making such a sultry syrupy fragrance ultra strong might lead to some fainters at work/school/ home. And not from adoration... Overspraying is (and remains) a bad idea. Just make sure you acquire a perfume pod/travalo and then a reapplication is easily done when you need one. Actually: maybe you're lucky. A friend of mine, whose skin isn't dry, nor 'perfume eating' tried it and could still smell it vaguely on her skin at night. If you can get it cheap and know if this pyramid will suit you I'd definitely recommend this perfume. Whether you have similar perfume skin, or not. I love it, that's for sure. But if you're hesitant or plum has responded sourly in the past, definitely test first. Last but not least: Regina can be a yearround fragrance if your country doesn't have very hot, long summers. Otherwise keep her for Spring, Fall and moderate Winter days. If you can wear it to the office depends completely on... well: you. I personally don't do labels that much. I've worn "homme" and smelled amazing, I have several unisex perfumes that I love, while detesting the supposedly Femme scents. I also think you should wear whatever, whenever as long as you don't bother anyone's nose. PS EDIT. Initially I didn't own any of the perfumes that are in the "reminds" section, but now I do. I don't like Armani Si, nor Si Passione. They're not blegh, but certainly miss something in order for me to repurchase. I don't think Regina is close to it in any way shape or form - at least how both smell on my skin. While I consider La Belle Le Parfum not a dupe either, I can understand why people have put that one there, particularly if the praline is a strong note on your skin. As said, they're not dupes - Regina has that strong yammy rose, while LBLP has some kind of 'grungy praline-pear' - but they have similar DNA. I wouldn't be surprised if JPG has secretly gotten some 'Arab inspiration' (trust me, it happens more often than they want you to know). Especially once Regina has sat a while, they have a more similar vibe. The JPG is also one of my favourite sweet 'sultry' fragrances and both have the power to let you keep sniffing the air around you. Plus these type of scents are each feminine in a girly* way, as well as sexy in a more mature way: the ultimate combination. From what I understand YouTube videos that show which fragrances are "Man Eaters/ Man Favourites" are very popular. I've seen the question on forums enough as well: "Which perfume will make my bf crazy? " or "Which fragrance will attract...". In case you were wondering: this one! If your husband, boyfriend or crush has 'average manly olfactory senses' then I'm sure you'll be in his arms in no time wearing Regina. If only so he can sniff your neck... (End EDIT). * I will hazard a guess and say not many men will try such a perfume. It leans very 'typically' feminine. But, personally I can often appreciate a sweet scent on a man more than a typical Homme cologne. Beaches m those harsh lines are fading, luckily. If you've tried this one as a man I'd love to hear your experience with it. Did you become a magnet for sniffers as well?

Regina is a lighter, sweeter, flirty version of la belle... the spice is dialed way down and fruit note dialed up. Like la belle and Sofia had a baby. It's way more feminine with a jammy rose and chocolate note in the drydown. I bought a tester of La belle so I could compare. I much prefer Regina for my collection, it's way more versatile and wearable and extremely affordable : ) Note: I understand the ( reminds me of) votes for Armani si because of the tart fruity note in the opening of Regina but the drydown is way different and no patchouli in sight : ) Update: I finally got my hands on a bottle of Always Red by Elizabeth Arden, I was on a waiting list because it is constantly sold out... Regina is indeed a 98% dupe of Always Red! The notes are the same including passion fruit and chocolate. Regina seems a tad sweeter and longer lasting , they are both beautiful but I will be repurchasing Ragina because it is easier to find, more affordable and the bottle is gorgeous : ) Update 5/9/2025: I pulled this out and wore it for a week straight, it has turned into a rich plum, rose and incense for the first 8 hours but keeps evolving on fabric. It lasts for days on clothes and linens where the bottom notes soften into a creamy cloud of praline and passion fruit... this is now on my love list and definitely a hidden gem with amazing performance I'm no longer comparing Regina to other Perfumes, it is a stand alone creation <3

This one is delicious! I can feel the chocolate, a discrete chocolate, nothing agresive about it. It is wrapped in the most enticing fruity perfume. Very gourmand, very edible, I like it in the autumn too. My bf adores it on me. It projects well, I find it a bit strong for the hot summer days, but who knows, I will try it next summer too. L.E. obsessed! This is a beautiful, beautiful perfume! The rose in Regina is not light, it is more like a jammy rose, the Turkish delight type. Smells very sweet because of all the fruity bonanza (all the plums, praline, passionfruit) Nothing to balance the sweetness, but I don't need it! I just love the sweet in this one. The amber is there to add a sort of depth and richness. The candy notes make it hard to resist. I successfully layered it with Montale Intense Cafe.

On this 90F, humid day, Regina is a sweet passionfruit perfume with a bit of soap and wood in the base. This perfume feels "red," sexy and exotic. There is a slight tart which gives some interest and prevents the fruit from being too sweet. I will most likely wear this in Spring and Fall. It is a fun perfume and different from anything in my collection. Lasts forever on my skin and clothing. Dry down is like an herbal rose, reminiscent of perfumes from the 90s. In cooler temps below 60F, Regina is all delicious sweetness. This is even more beautiful as a cooler weather perfume.

I can't get over this perfume. It has been discontinued, and I keep a little bit of it left in the bottle and I just can't find a duplicate. To anyone who says it smells like Armani Si... Nope, Regina is its own category and in fact it was ahead of its time, because it's way more gourmand than popular taste. Does anyone know a dupe? Can't trust the 'reminds me of' section anymore.

Oooh, SO delicious!! Beautiful! Right from the start I smell every listed note, in a perfectly blended, super delightful fruity/flowery/woody/ambery chocolate! Faaabulous!! Really divine. I love the passionfruit zing, and the rich full exotic plum and rose, and the dark wood. Oh it's pure heaven!!! Lasts forever and is strong. It's brilliant.

It's the perfect dupe of armani si intense with better sillage and longevity ❤❤❤

This is 100% in the same category as Giorgio Armani si, and it is very similar so if you are searching for that scent profile then this is perfect! I have Si intense, and compared them side by side. Regina is definitely sweeter and more syrupy and sugary. They do smell very similar but regina has that juicier sweeter touch to it. I actually prefer regina to the original. Now, if you have never smelt Si, I will try my best to describe Regina alone. It is a very syrupy sweet sugary rose mixed with a blackcurrent syrup. It also has a lovely deep resinous vibe. Overall, it is a very deep and fruity and syrupy rose. It also leans slightly mature in the best way possible. When I say mature I don’t mean outdated or old lady like. I just mean a sophisticated rose and not a light fresh rose. 🫐🌹🍬 The longevity on this is AMAZING. It lasts all day long. Gorgeous gorgeous scent❤️

Regina is a sweet fruity fragrance with a slightly powdery dry down. The passion fruit brings a lively exotic touch well balanced with the sweetness. Overall it is a bit dense and juvenile, like a fruit candy. Only for summer time or for nostalgic comfort.

This was a blind buy, just not as successful as others have been. I have Sonnet from Ajmal that I love and by looking at Regina's notes, I thought I'd like this one too. I actually don't know what to think of this. On me, I don't get the praline at all or chocolate as other reviewers have. There's a sour note in this for me that isn't balanced out by anything sweet, but I'm not sure where it's coming from. I'm thinking it's the mixture of the passionfruit and plum. I don't get any tropical smell from the passionfruit either. It does have a little spicy accord, maybe from the plum and mahogany. After a while, it gets better as the sourness disappears eventually. This leans feminine and the longevity and sillage are moderate for me. If possible, try a sample first.

Honestly its a big too strong for my liking. Its not your typical sweet smelling fragrance. The fragrance is a bit too much to wear to office or during day time and there is nothing feminine about the fragrance. But the sillage and longevity are enormous and can even last for more than 24 hours.

It’s a dupe of Paco Rabanne’s Olympea Legend. Both smells give me nausea.

WOW I totally blind bought this, and I can safely say this was a good decision. This smells of chocolate, yes...finally a chocolate scent that doesn't smell like a batch of chemicals. The blend is well executed with fruits adding to the harmony of the praline, instead of overpowering it. The result is sweet but not teeny bopper sweet, the amber and woods balances it out so well. This DOES remind me of Si. When i compare them on each arm, Si clearly has more of a cold patchouli undertone whereas Regina is a bit more on the warmer side, they are definitely related (BUT NOT A DUPE). Maybe it's because of the praline, but Regina feels like the love child of Si and La Nuit Tresor. This fragrance definitely has a high quality feel to it, as most Arabic perfumes do. Overall an 8/10 for me, the sillage is decent but omg the longevity sucks. Why does it say above that longevity is "Very long lasting"?? Did people vote without actually owning this fragrance?!! This evaporates on clothes within an hour maybe 2.

Sweet, fruity and beautiful. Very similar to Balenciaga Talisman, not a direct dupe but very much alike. I have a big vintage bottle of Talisman edp from the 90's and use it sparingly so when I sniffed Ajmal Regina I bought two big bottles of it right away. (Gliturr, here is my advice for you: if you can't find Regina anywhere, go to eBay and buy a bottle of Talisman and you won't be disappointed!)

I have this and I don't know how I feel about it. I think it would smell good to my nose when I smell it on someone else, but when I spray it on a tester strip, I don't know. I might try using this and see what it smells like while wearing it. EDIT: Returned it.

This is an absolutely beautiful and delicious scent! Chocolate and passion fruit in the opening with a dry down that smells exactly like La Belle Intense Parfum. This is a hidden gem and a must have. I can’t stop sniffing my arm; this smells so good!

This is like a berry concoction on steroids. Smells like fruit snacks, I wouldn't wear it out, its more like a room scent but it does boost your mood for sure.
