In fact, the scent seems to bloom beautifully on damp, overcast days, where its earthy & smoky qualities come alive. I tested it on a rainy day, which heightened its atmospheric effects. However, it isn't for everyone. Its unique mix of earthy greens, leathery smoke, and industrial undertones can be polarizing, which may explain its relatively low rating on Fragrantica. This is a challenging, complex fragrance that requires time to understand. The industrial rusty vibe is reminiscent of Caron Yatagan, though it doesn't smell directly similar. It also shares a certain weight with Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Abyad, especially in the leather and spice combination, though the themes differ entirely. In contrast, Al Haramain Miracle oil smells like an extraction of the worst aspects of Verde, mixed with the scent of unwashed hair. Verde is an unusual, multifaceted fragrance. It's a scent for those who appreciate texture in their perfumes. While not a crowd-pleaser, for the right wearer, it offers a truly unique voyage. When I read a review that states something like "smells like cigarette ash, pot, disgusting, run away etc." I tend to run excitedly straight towards it. Ajmal Verde is one of the best bargains I have come across as a lover of fragrances that call to mind the natural world. Nothing about this one smells like a generic designer, club banger, perfume counter offering that are a dime a dozen. One of my favorite spring time sprays for a nice walk or hike. It also takes the sting out of staring at a computer all day, while the world outside is rapidly blossoming back to life. Verde opens with a green (shocking I know), somewhat tart and juicy bergamot that mixes in nicely with the strong galbanum, and a bit of spicy freshness (listed ginger + pepper?). The galbanum is present through the opening and heart, and really makes a nice contrast with the deeper and darker base notes. Besides the little bit of juicy green in the opening, Verde quickly transitions to a very dry, almost ashen feel, but there is something that keeps it from being just a dark sludge. I perceive no sweetness, which to me is a plus in this one. There is a brightness in the opening into the heart that almost gives it a watery, fresh feel for a second - without any trace of calone or typical marine/aquatic notes. @Jacked 24/7 description of "cold water running through a rusty pipe" feels pretty close, but it doesn't smell like rust or iron. It doesn't smell actively smoky, but almost like a hint of some wet, charred wood and dry ash. Verde does however have a brown, rusty "feel" that runs as an undercurrent beneath the spicy fresh top notes, and the dark green notes. If you look at the note pyramid, I feel it echoes how I perceive this one as colors: translucent/white (pepper,ginger,jasmine) green (bergamot, galbanum), browns+charcoal (leather, cedar, sandalwood). It's like the air coming off a damp, muddy, thicket of weeds and forest undergrowth. I haven't smelled Noir Anthracite, though I would track that down if it wasn't discontinued after smelling this one. Ajmal Verde is for folks who like their fragrances a little weird. Also, it layers nicely with La Yuqawam Ambergris Showers for an ultimate Oddball Leather pairing.

I decided to give AV a try because of its frequent comparisons to TFNA. It is remarkably affordable, so I thought even if the rumors are only partially true, it would be worth it. Full disclosure: TFNA is among my top three favorite fragrances (yes, I'm one of those weirdos ), and I have already acquired three 50ml bottles of this magical potion. I intend to buy a few more as it is becoming increasingly difficult to find at a reasonable price. Given my familiarity with TFNA, I felt well-equipped to evaluate this fragrance. I am unsure if Ajmal Verde was specifically created to replicate TFNA, but it comes remarkably close. From the first spray, there is a noticeable resemblance. The two fragrances share a similar DNA, it’s about 60% there. It evokes the same general vibe but is distinct in its own right. If Tom Ford released this as a flanker to TFNA, I would purchase it without hesitation. Ajmal Verde is slightly greener, more expansive, and brighter. It lacks the depth and darkness that characterizes TFNA, at least to the same extent. Ajmal Verde feels more approachable; its dry-down is sweeter, and its performance is not quite on par with Tom Ford’s creation. However, considering the fraction of the price you pay, this is understandable. I can differentiate the two only because of my intimate knowledge of TFNA, allowing for a detailed side-by-side comparison rather than relying on memory alone. For those who have never experienced TFNA or are reluctant to pay its steep current prices, Ajmal Verde is definitely worth a try. I plan to purchase at least one more bottle because it is a commendable alternative, and I would regret not having it in my collection.

Ajmal almost pulled off a discontinued gem here. Almost. There are several similarities with TF Noir Anthracite. The opening especially. And it stays the course for the first 20-30 minutes. Then it changes. Ajmal Verde has a much greener vibe. The galbanum punches hard with the leather. Noir Anthracite hits harder with the pepper and the smoke, and the patchouli bangs. Ajmal Verde dries down with an animalic vibe, which isn’t too stenchy like some animalic numbers. Definitely cold weather vibes. Longevity and projection aren’t on a par with TFNA. Not bad but a good 3-4 hours shy. For the price, this punches well above its market value. More so because TFNA is discontinued - and some places have it listed between $500-$800 AUD. Look, it’s not TFNA, but it’s a great scaled down version that’ll get you 75-80% near. For $38 AUD, the nostalgia’s worth it. More than worth it.

Smells like cold water running through a rusty pipe that has overgrown weeds and flora around it. The opening does give off a little bit of a marijuana vibe, but I doubt anyone would really notice on you it’s a subtle weed smell. I have TF Anthracite and this and I can say they are similar. they got their differences and this is greener for sure. Especially in the beginning, it smells like the color of the bottle. It’s fairly linear but as it dries down the greenness goes away a bit and turns more towards a leathery smell. Stuff is pretty awesome! Lasts a while as well Also I don’t know why but I’m in love with the box it came in.... It’s a matte green and I like touching it..

I've been waiting for this one! I ran across this page when I first started getting into Arabian fragrance houses, maybe 18 months ago. It wasn't in stores then and bottles on eBay were more than I wanted to spend. Imagine my surprise coming across this page again and fragnet has a bottle for 17$! Awesome. I like it. It doesn't smell like interlude, but it REMINDS me of interlude. I'm not sure what it is, but my guess is the bitter green galbanum has a similar effect as the oregano? It settles out in the dry down to a dirty green leather and I love it. Totally worth it. Ajmal is hit or miss with me but this one is a hit.

This is a green fragrance, which revolves around black pepper so heavily it reminds me of Amouage Interlude Man out of all fragrances I have tried. And that's my top 3 fragrance so now I have a green version of it. Perfection. Sillage is strong and performance on skin is outstanding, some of the strongest. You can get it at Notino for about $17 while others are already selling it for over $50. Warning, it is very smoky and less rounded than Interlude Man, to some it may smell like a zoo hippo enclosure. Women will generally not enjoy this. Very polarizing.

Verde is a powerful, sharp, dry, pepper woody green perfume. Very distinctive. I bought this a month ago and it's growing on me. It's quite medicinal too and attention grabbing. Excellent performance in both longevity and silage. Comes in a lovely green glass heavy bottle. Verde, in my opinion, is definitely on the male side. Big like from me.

Love it. Reminds me exactly of TF Anthracite. But I feel it is better. In that it is lighter, where Anthracite was weighty and an energy sink. TF Anthracite would get annoying. This is TF Anthracite but with a positive and harmonious lighter aspect. A smoky mineral scent. Well worth having in the arsenal.

This is straight Interlude clone but only in opening later it changes and becomes smoky bomb. I like how it evolves and I like how you can get it blind and still enjoy because of its great value! Try this, you won't regret.

This fragrance blew my mind from the first sniff green and earthy with dark vibes . For only $20, I absolutely love it!

Fresh and green with great longevity. 10/10

I bought this after Sebastian (Perfume Guy) on YT spoke highly of it. On initial spray I got an Amouage Interlude vibe from it. They do share similar top notes of bergamot and pepper, but this one has a dry ginger note as opposed to Oregano. Once the spicy opening has died down, you start to pick up on the bitter green aspects and this is where I'm reminded two other fragrances - Narciso Rodriguez for him EDT and Nasomatto Black Afgano. There is a note in here that gives the feeling of wet concrete as does NR for him. Ajmal Verde however, has more of a bitter green, ashy quality to it due to the Cedar and Galbanum whereas NR is more watery and crisp due to the presence of violet leaf. My wife loves NR on me but sadly she cannot stand this one, so that should tell you how far the similarities go for either of them. I would say this is closer in feel to that of Black Afgano- they both share a 'dark' and 'dank' feel and at times, I do catch a whiff of cannabis from Ajmal Verde which solidifies the association for me. My wife also hates Black Afgano so I'm not surprised she doesn't get on with this one too. This also gets compared to TF Noir Anthracite a lot but sadly, I never got to try it and so I cannot comment on similarities there. Performance is decent - I find it projects well for the first hour and then becomes a long lasting skin scent and lasts at least 12 hours on clothes. The sprayer isn't great and doesn't let out a lot of juice so you may have to overspray to get decent performance but worth it for the price. Overall 8/10

Anthracite by Tom Ford is dead. Long live Verde by Ajmal! Musky, mucky, earthy, woody, warm, spicy and green, this scent has a cornucopia of interesting tones, which will undoubtably smell different, depending on the smeller. It is cheap as fucking chips, so you might as well buy it; you won't regret it. Ajmal make some tip top fragrances for very few penny pounds. People will think you have much more money than you actually do when you wear this. They will also be reminded of the much more expensive, and now discontinued Tom Ford scent. This will make people very confused. If you prefer to spend money on other "more important" things than perfume (hint: NOTHING is more important - just starve, you fucking pleb), this is one for you. Day, night and all seasons, Verde has you covered. Wear it to visit the job centre, in order to make people think that you actually have a job, and that you're just there to laugh at the unemployed. 7/10. It's affordability makes it attainable by the masses, which loses it a few points. Yes, I am a perfume snob.

Blind bought this for 13 euros 6 months ago. I was ready to laugh off my bad purchase but then I smelled it.. Probably one of my best purchases to date. Mature and rich scent, not for anyone below 30 imo. Definitely not a mass appealer but when it hits, it hits. These middle eastern houses are so funny, prices can drop or raise more than 50% over night, some guy said he paid $38... I remember buying Caballo for 18$ when it came out, now its 50+.. maybe not a bad idea to blind buy these frags before they hype them up

Most people won't like it, but I find it very interesting. I never smelled any similar perfume. Worth trying if you like strange scents

The same vibe of Jil Sander Man I (Man Pure) I like it! So green, woody, and easy to pull off at any time.

Fragrances are a journey to your own preferences, an experiment of what you might like and what you might not. I personally also like hard, smoky, animalistic and with some agarwoods I could even become obsessed, if it was financially possible for me... But leather... I've had my nose in so many leather fragrances for a few years now, that I can honestly say: while the legendary Cabochard will always be in my closet, Green or this kind leather isn't my thing. I only love green in very, very sweet fragrances, and this fragrance is not that! Except a little. There is some surprising sweetness here and some minty, even like some vanilla undertones, that soften the edges to make it quite pleasant....To my surprise, I've been enjoying this fragrance a lot( ! ).. but still that green, ashy leather wears me out and I can't feel confident wearing this. However, every time I smell this, I must admire the balanced gentleness combined with the amazing performance in this Ajmal. If green leather is your thing, don't hesitate, this is the one!

I got Ajmal Verde this past week, and I tried it for the first time yesterday. I find that it isn't similar to: Narciso Rodriguez for Him EDT or Amouage Interlude Man (some people were saying that it's similar to those two fragrances, but it isn't). It might be similar to Tom Ford Noir Anthracite, but I wouldn't know that because I haven't tried the TF. To me, Ajmal Verde is at least somewhat similar to Parfums Gres Cabochard EDP (the 2019 version) and fragrances which are of that style. Personally, I don't hate it, but I don't truly like it either. I'm not sure if I'll ever get even half way through my bottle of it. I was thinking that I might use it for layering with certain other fragrances: it might add that kind of chypre feeling to a fragrance which isn't of that style. I bought my bottle for about $17.

Looks like I don't have this same parfume at all since I can't feel almost anything described in the comments. Sweet woody soar perfume, not so strong at all. Suitable for daily use. Incomparable with anything I know. I smelled few TFN flankers and it's not even similar. Worth money that it coasts and definitely not for blind buy

This was a blind buy, one of the first Ajmal for me. For my taste it is too smoky, the dry down is like smelling an ashtray so I can't imagine a social situation that would benefit me. I will test it in these home office days so maybe it will grow on me but I doubt it. Dirt cheap though and great longevity.

It's classy and mature, to me it smells old-school so I wouldn't recommend it to younger audiences, I'd also like to mention that it smells a lot like Guerlain L'instant EDT so if you like that profile go for it. Like but not a love, not a big fan of the sprayer either 😀 Scent: 7/10

very woody and leathery a bit animalic strong scent which lasts on you for more than 6 hours on skin, definitely not for the beginners, not a pleasing scent either only for the mature nose.

To my nose this is green but also very spicy. Colder months oriented in my opinion. Doesn't last long, but it is very cheap, so that's fine.

Smells like concentrated Pino Silvestre perhaps because that strong pine/cedar note

This fragrance is a perfect example of how personal experience and cultural background can shape perception. To me, it smells exactly like a popular medicinal ointment common in post-Soviet countries that contains galbanum. The scent instantly brings to mind old age and hospitals. To my friend from Spain, however, it smells like a deep forest. I can’t stand this fragrance, while she absolutely loves it. That’s just how it goes.

It has an overly animalic scent that resembles a mixture of tree sap and unpleasant odor. While the final scent is wonderful and classic, the waiting time is not worth it.

I bought this recently because the nice smelling gentleman rated it highly as a hidden gem. It's just pure leather and horrible.

One word to describe it: Horror. I just blind-bought it and it's not good. It has a dirty, off-putting background and smells like dead-cat. It's a mysteriously dark green perfume with not a lot of notes. I don't know what time and in what occasion or circumstance is it supposed to be worn. I'll try it as a base with some fresh fruity scents and hopefully I'll get something. It's even darker than Lalique's Encre Noire. There's nothing exciting here. Save yourself from this horrible scent and I'm even willing to sell it on eBay for a quarter of what I paid for it. If I can't sell it... I'll throw it away in my local cemetery. It smells like it.

First impressions. In the opening, it's pretty much a dead ringer for TF Noir Anthracite. As it develops, it gets more greener though, and the greenness reminds me of Polo Green (Original) -- a leathery green accord with camphorous pine, quite deep, but a bit artificial, like pine soap. The drydown of Verde is a also bit vegetal and funky, whereas Anthracite dries down to a grey and dry spicy accord. But the differences are minor and you will definitely get your petrichor effect out of this. I don't get much similarity to Narciso Rodriguez for Him -- the latter is much more soft and wet and floral, although it also has this petrichor or wet soil effect. I also don't agree with the Yatagan parallel, although I might guess where it's coming from. It's the leathery pine note, but in Yatagan, it's softer and muskier, whereas in Verde, it's rougher and reminds me of Polo, Aramis Devin or even Quorum. The wet forest and moist soil associations are relevant here, but as with Anthracite, there is also something industrial about it. Something grey, a bit oily, pungent, but also clean. Like a dash of clear machine oil or turpentine or something like that. It's kind of in the middle of natural and artificial. I like it, and I'm really baffled about the price difference. I might even like Verde a bit more than Anthracite due to the green aspect that makes it a bit friendlier and softer.

I like it. This is a more complex scent... than its price would suggest. A fragrance for the brave, it has so many variable, extreme feelings. This is a beautiful, dense forest into which a man entered with his machines, made a few changes but forgot to take his equipment. This forest is wild and untamed, but these tons of steel are slowly starting to rust. Hence the ambivalence of feelings, the fact that this scent is so non-obvious. Cedar, other woody notes, green notes, leather, galbanum and pepper play an important role here. They have good support, there are more notes than those presented here on Fragrantica... maybe we can't name them yet. Original fragrance, I wouldn't call it a clone of... anything. That's why I have a certain kind of respect for Ajmal... although the perfume itself will certainly be polarizing, someone will hate it, someone else will love it. I like it so far, that's all for the beginning. I recommend it, it's a cheap frag... so even if we get the wrong one, we can always give someone an original gift... maybe that person will fall in love with Verde, who knows. ;)

Complex, bitter, sour, green, LOVELY! I love to just go and sniff it as it is to wake myself up. It definitely needs the right person to wear it but don't be scared. I think it is a mater of just getting used to it. I would not buy this if you fell like designer frags is your jam, because you will not appreciate this. But for a adventurer, that is mature and willing to stand out, this is a winner. And don't even start about the price.... its crazy cheap. I would say, that it does not smell anything close to hash or weed - neither fresh nor dried. ofc it is green, but not weed green. Don't make that a setback for trying this. I would say it is closer to soil than weed. TBH i love the gradient on the bottle. Sets the tone of what you are putting yourself in to.

After wearing it a little bit, I'd say that it's 60% TF Noir Anthracite, 30% Polo Green and 10% something like a paint thinner. Compared side by side, TF Noir Anthracite is definitely better blended, although it's not 10x better like the price difference would suggest. To my nose, Verde has some conflicting notes, especially in the opening and smelled up close -- then it sometimes seems to be about 50% paint thinner. I do get some bergamot there, but the rest of the greenery appears very synthetic. The opening is challenging. Then again, wearing it casually and smelling it from a distance, after 20 minutes, it's very close to the aforementioned fragrances.

To me this is spicy but green, industrial, similar to Tom Ford. Actually very similar! I like it, did not expect something so interesting for this price! Actually was looking for a fragrance that smells like Tom Ford Anthracite, because I can't find it anywhere anymore...and this is not a clone, but a very good fragrance. I would picture an artist wearing this, it's sexy but in an unconventional way, but that is just my opinion. It doesn't smell oriental to me at all. Doesn't smell like paint thinner to me either like someone said. I guess you have to try it.

an older gentleman, not quite elderly, who’s a professor of philosophy and often wears brown plaid and gray color clothes moves slower, thinks a lot, a rather interesting person if you do get to know him but he’s also very quiet even when comfortable around you he smokes but you can never smell it on him, it’s a gloomy day (not much rain) and he stepped out to take a smoke break while looking into the heavily forested area surrounding the school he tends to let people do them and they let him do him

Just got my bottle and immediately sprayed my wrist and chest. Gorgeous deep green like thick woods around a creek. NOT for the faint of heart. Its dry down is lovely. Is definitely a more masculine scent...however...I sprayed a bit of Chloe (super bright fresh floral) and the mix is utterly heavenly. Powerful rain wet soil, grass, trees, and flowers. It's everything I wanted Springtime in a Park to be but wasn't.

The black-to-green ombré bottle is a really good indicator of how this works, with the black pepper and leather darkening the green vibe that the bergamot and galbanum set up. I struggled with it initially but now I really like it for cold March days when the muck of winter is dragging you down but you start to feel the green of springtime poking through.

Yep, Hippo enclosure at the zoo. Apologies to the Hippos. Just awful. Very strong. Polarizing. Not a safe blind buy. Heavy smoke that ruins the more palatable green note. A scrubber for me. The only positives are the absolutely gorgeous bottle and the very low price. Sorry Perfume Guy in SF. You and I will never agree on this one.
