Wisal

Oh how I've been looking forward to pulling my out my fall/winter scents. Every season I go through my collection and rearrange all my perfumes. Bringing the cooler/cold fragrances to the front for the season. This is one perfume I wanted to try again after I purchased last year. Now that my nose can differentiate scents better and pull specific notes.This year when I sprayed it, I really wanted to douse myself with it. Not because the scent is soft, far from it. It is such a beautiful scent I couldnt get enough of it. I can smell the warm and cozy scent of the Rose. The rose is devine follwed by the spiciness of this fragrance. I smell oud which is strange because it's not a note, however the spicy notes possibly puts off the smell of oud. The oud I smell is a dead ringer for Juliette Has a Gun/Midnight Oud. I highly recommend this scent for anyone that likes spiciness. The price is great and the bottle is unique.

As fragheads, we go through phases of craving different notes or profiles. Recently, I started having nostalgia for those classic spicy-soapy-rose-plus-woody-musky middle eastern scents and so I ordered this one again (I had gone without it for a while because I had used up a bottle a few years ago). Don’t underestimate this one, just because it’s “simple.” The freshness makes it very wearable for a man. I love this one! Realistic rose water smell, plus white musk, plus other woody/citrus smells! And this lasts and projects! I really appreciate this last part, after trying out so many western perfumery giants recently (with reformulations like hydrosols!). On my wife, Wisal Dhahab is the best perfume I’ve ever smelled! This one is for me, that one is for her!

It starts off with Fresh Rose Water, Then comes Spices & Floral into Picture which are v smooth, drydown has Musk & Sandalwood. Strong Notes are Rose & Musk other notes are not that strong and gel well with other notes. Amazing Scent slighter leaning towards Women even though Men can carry it Well. I personally would to like smell this on women, This perfumes smell v Elegant on them. Longevity & Projection is Excellent for this Perfume & Even Presentation is Excellent, Sprayer is V good & pours out lot of juice. My Rating is 4 out of 5.

I was not a fan of the blast of spices in the opening upon the initial spray, but after letting it sit and macerate for about a week, the spices blended well and settled in the background at the dry down within an hour. This settles into a very feminine, sophisticated rosy scent. This is a really beautiful, captivating scent that I could see myself wearing more in the spring at a very nice brunch or when I want to feel extra feminine. The bottle doesn't do it justice, but the juice is amazing!

When i first got it - i hated it. Sharp, screeching rose and musk. But I never sold my bottle. It is now about 7 years old and that once sharp rose decided to finally calm down. It still stands out - it's not jammy, but definitely not sharp either. I actually love it now! New bottle smells literally the same as "madinah" by al haramain in oil. Last over 4hr (barely any "beast" last on me) on my skin and much longer on clothes (days). Edit: smells like "musk ahmed" by ahmed al maghribi

This lovely thing was my signature scent for nearly a decade, strong musky rose opening with spices kicking in the first hour then the woods calming up around the drydown. Lasts a more than 12 hours on my skin, massive sillage for nearly 7 hours (it gets weaker around five but still leaves a trail). You're no shrinking violet if you wear this. Sadly I have to part ways with it not because it changed formula but my body chemistry screws up the scent nowadays.

I wore this for a couple years 20 years ago and can still remember the scent distinctly because it’s that unique (and strong). It is mostly rose and sandalwood, but very well blended into a warm scent where the notes work well together and aren’t distinct from one another. It is quite strong, so not for anyone looking for a skin scent. That said, it doesn’t come off as offensive either unless you spray a ton. It’s a great balance.

There is now a third flanker in the Wisal line, basically a hybrid of Wisal and Alf Laila. It's called Wisal Layl. The bottle is the same but in matte black. The juice is the most woody and oudy of the 3. The projection and longevity still in the Wisal levels of nuclear but if you want your Wisal a bit on the skanky side, hunt down that one. It's also the most unisex of the 3.

I question Fragrantica's gender classification on this. Wisal is PRIMARILY marketed to men in Kuwait and not all of the Ethnic Chic collection is marketed to women. Ghair 2 is a prime example. Anyway, Wisal is the quintessential "Arab Fresh" fragrance from Ajmal. This is ALWAYS a winner, regardless of the weather or oscasion. You just can't lose with this one.

OK, after extensive trial made this my signature for the month. Rose and musk very distinct. 2 sprays and they all can smell my trail for miles. Always complimented by male And females daily. Scent 8-10 Silage 8-10 Longevity 9-10 This is good stuff try it continuously for a couple of days an you will be hooked. Not expensive.

Beautiful clear rose with supporting musk and sandalwood. I also get a faint tobacco note. Great as a standalone and equally good for layering with Oud or Amber. I would also layer this with a leather /tobacco fragrance. Superb value for money 100 % can be worn by anyone who is confident enough get noticed.

Beautiful scent, warm, spicy rose with an Arabic tone! I got it as a gift with the powder, body lotion and shower gel with a spray bottle and it's all wonderfully long lasting and sexy, clean scent. And do I smell a hint of mint? YUM!

Not Only for Women, UNISEX So Ajmal.. please correct yourself also with Light Touch of white OUD Men can use it without any hesitation.. great perfume with good projection and longevity

WOW!!!! This is soooo good! Simple but good: rose plus white musk (other things in background, of course, but those two dominate). Great for men. Dhahab is better for women.

Roses and plums, tarty and fresh. I find similarities with FDB, but fortunately Wisal lacks spices. I love it! Excellent longevity and projection.

I’m getting Roses Vanille by mancera! Very similar...less syrupy more roses. Overall lovely fragrance with good performance.

It’s my second time owning this. The first time was about 7 years ago, I like it, but it didn’t hold my interest enough. I remember Wisal being very similar to Roses Musk as both are atmospheric kind of hairspray scents that are easily worn and non-offensive. So when I wanted something cheap but long lasting to use ‘n’ abuse for work days, I started thinking about Wisal again. At the time I also got Wisal Dhahab but wasn’t a fan of the sweet pear. I liked how neutral the original silver bottle was. But you’ve got to wonder why things in the past were rejected... So I buy it again and as before, the silver Wisal is very subtly rose (don’t worry about it being too floral) as the predominant scent is a chemically hairspray type of atmospheric wood with a faint rose-water note and that’s kind of it. It doesn’t last too long on me, midway through my shift it’s gone but stays on clothes much longer. I never once had a colleague mention it and I remember now why I didn’t keep it the first time around. I just smell like I’ve overused my hairspray, which isn’t bad, but isn’t really worth continuing with.

I really don’t like writing less than glowing reviews, obviously because I don’t want to offend anyone who loves the fragrance I am reviewing and who will pound on the thumbs down button because they can’t believe someone’s got an opinion that differs from their own, and they can’t deal with that outrageous situation. This isn’t bad, it’s got that typical over the top Rosie, flowery, middle eastern style that lacks the finesse of, let’s say Guerlain, or Dior, or Frederic Malle, or even Amouage in order to equalise the playing field. Sillage is ok, longevity about 5 hours, reasonably linear. Starts off slightly medicinal and alcoholic, then turns into a generic rose water floral. It just doesn’t have any distinct personality. If someone told me this was a rose scented celebrity scent such as a Priscilla Presley fragrance, I would have believed them. And the bottle is extra tacky...I don’t know if they tried to make it look like the shape of a woman, or a citadel, it just looks like a can of high quality Spanish sardines.

This one is not for those who don't like rose! It is very rosy in the opening and this does not settle down for some time. I also get a hint of sandalwood (faint) and later I get the floral. It does dry down to a lovely sweet scent but that rose is extremely strong to begin with for a few hours. I like it a lot but wish there was just a little less rose. I wanted to add, there is a hint of jasmine with the rose at the beginning for me. It is balanced between rose and jasmine. Later the scent becomes quite sweet and a bit more woody. It does last quite some time. Edit: This pharmaceutical smell some mention, I think I got that - sort of like iodine or something? Anyway, it settles and goes away and fortunately I don't mind that smell. Now that I am getting used to this I can smell the sweet, powdery smell that has also been mentioned. I like to layer this one with Makkah and some other floral scents. I like experimenting, especially if I am not completely sure about a fragrance.

Wisal is the only Ajmal fragrance I like. Some others I received samples of were fine but obviously for women, and the few men's ones were dreadful. Wisal on the other hand is completely genderless and unisex. A lovely Arab inspired fragrance of rose, light spices, sandalwood, and an ever so mild musk undertone. At first it smells a little funky until it settles, which reminds me of a lot of Mancera and Montale fragrances. Wisal is in the same wheelhouse as Black Aoud, Pour Homme Or Encens, or Santal Royal but obviously not the same high quality as Or Encens and Santal Royal. But it's a good budget alternative to those with a slightly different scent composition and less depth.

I got a sample by chance and NEVER expected it to be THAT good . I am Middle Eastern but don't have an oriental taste in fragrances , so I thought this would be headache inducing or something like that , how wrong I was ; it's the lightest , most airy rose you can ever smell , almost aquatic but still with strong presence and sillage ..In my opinion this tends to be more feminine , but it's targeted towards men or unisex ..Well, people here are not strict about gender rules , so I am getting one for myself . If you are floral lover , you must try this , and for some reason it reminds me of BabyDoll by Yves Saint Laurent .

Let's start with that I love rose. I think this one is a very nice one: spicy, but fresh rose (like in Dior Blooming Bouquet), but also with a MINTY note, at least for the first few hours. I recently have quit enjoyed spearmint in perfumes, and didn't even think it would combine so well with rose. This one isn't really similar to any other perfume I have tried, INITIALLY. Further in the drydown it becomes more similar to Mancera Roses Vanille, or Arabyat Prestige Roses Vanilla - a bit of a sharp, spicy rose, but with less spice (luckily for me). I really do wish the minty note stuck around for longer though.

On the same spectrum as Intense Cafe by Montale and Oud Vanille by Franck Olivier. Jammy rose, smooth spices, soft musk with a hint of bitterness to it. Smells expensive for the price. I can also appreciate that this scent profile without the vanilla. Don’t get me wrong, I love vanilla, but vanilla can be ubiquitous and tiring sometimes.

Nice fragrance for the price. Unlike other middle eastern brands, Ajmal always comes up with nicely blended affordable scents that don't smell cheap. For less than $30, Wisal is a lovely floral with an oriental touch. I still prefer Wisal Dhahab, which is a masterpiece in my opinion.

This perfume isn't just for women. This is a unisex perfume. Rose dominates the perfume overall with a great deal of musk, powder and woody notes. Two sprays on my chest and I can still smell it on my body. Longevity and sillage is great. Ajmal is seriously underrated.

This is unisex fragrance Very good perfomance and sillage is good too. Price is also affordable This fragrance remindes me black muscs by alexandre j which is good as compare to wisal.

Reminds me of Silver Shade with more roses. Pleasant enough but too typical. I do like its bottle design and think it will make a good gift.

Fresh rose, bit woody. Well priced, good performance. My first blind purchase from this house. Not disappointed 😌

Rose scent is airy, bright and juicy.

I have tested it in a perfume store, This perfume is oud woody with damascus roses, linear perfume, easy to love it if you prefer oud perfumes and this scent very exact dupe for "rose oud amour lotion from enchanteur". I didn't like oud in women perfumes, this is my own taste, I love it only in men's perfumes, so if your taste compatable with me you sure will didn't like this perfume. If you didn't smell this perfume before, I advise that you can blind buy only if you interest oud fragrances or searching on perfume similar to "Mohra Silky Rose from Lattafa" vibes but not a dupe. Synthetic fragrance here is not noticeable especialy in the dry down. I cant remember now why I blind bought this bottle. Maybe bc of the positive reviews I’ve read But it’s a good scent. I smell roses with spice. Too bad I don’t really like spicy notes so it’s just an ok scent for me. Maybe I’ll give it a try again when I go back home. Ps.The longevity and sillage were insane!

In a search of the perfect rose scent I bought a sample. Definitely unisex. Gives me sandalwood incense stick vibe. Can not unsmell it. Unfortunately can not smell much roses here. Not for me.

I really wanted to love this perfume especially after reading the reviews and I can't deny it's an excellent quality, sillage is wonderful and longevity too..one spritz lasted me all day literally and the price is great as well But... there's something in that perfume just bothers me a lot and makes me sick maybe a specific note that I find in most of the Arabic perfumes, it's just not appealing to me and it's not a matter of body chemistry because I can smell that disturbing smell in anyone who wears that perfume, but I'll keep on searching for the perfect Arabic perfume because I'm dying to have one

I had this fragrance for ages and finally had to do away with it. It is a spicy rose but overly cloying to the point where it stinks with even just one spray. I expected it to macerate over time or perform less overwhelmingly in cold weather but it did neither.

I found this to be too floral and musky for me, good quality though. I agree that the bottle design and materials are on a cheap side but that's what inside that matters

This is by far one of the most prized fragrances in my collection. A sensual, creamy and sweetly spiced musky rose perfume with hints of sandalwood. It begins on a strong floral note, however within 60 seconds it calms and you are left with the most gorgeous scent which lasts for hours and hours. On my skin, the scent lingers often until the next day. That being said, the longevity is great as well as the sillage...one-two sprays will last all day on the skin and clothing and definitely catch the attention of everyone in the room! This scent is definitely oriental, but can be easily tolerated by Western noses. Reminds me so much of the souks and homes in Arab countries. While this is listed as a female fragrance, in the Middle East (especially the Khaleej) it is marketed as unisex. My husband actually used to wear Wisal all the time. It can definitely work well with the body chemistry of both genders. Love love love Wisal, highly recommended!

A sophisticated rose. While the rose is forward, it is so well blended that it has a supporting cast of players who don’t beat each other up for dominance. I know this is a dupe of an expensive perfume one of my teachers used to wear twenty years ago. The moment I smelled it, I instantly recognized it- but I have no idea what the original fragrance was. That lady is probably wearing a kaftan gliding around doing oil paintings in the South of France, so I promise you this does not smell cheap. I’m a little obsessed with it, tbh, but I SWEAR I do not understand people saying this is a lingering beast. This would be my signature scent if the bottle wasn’t tacky & if it lasted for more than 3-4 hours. Still, I love it. Wish it came in a 3.4 ounce chunky glass flacon that befits its expensive scent.

I actually respectfully disagree with the comment saying this is similar to "Stella". I have both and cannot see literally anything in common other then the rose note. "Stella" is a lighter more modern take on the rose with prominent orange and peony that brighten up the rose and make it less cloying with a sweeter ambery undertone. Wisal is what I perceive as more of a stereotypical full-on rose, which is a sour one, the quality only accentuated by sandalwood and spices. It is a much heavier perfume which will be appreciated by a rose lover but will likely deter someone who is not that comfortable with the rose. The sillage and longevity are very good on me.

A musky and spicy rose that on initial spritz charms and captivates! There is a slight whiff of Oud, but that could be the combination of sandalwood and musk that creates that Olfactory illusion. Then, after a blast of musky wood comes the spicy rose in all its glory and magnificence! Warm, sultry and deep, it lasts forever until the end of its journey. The dry down imho is the best phase. A mix of floral and sandalwood leftovers mixed with spicy musk, pure bliss! This is quite unisex, a man can easily pull it off. I fully recommend this gem for those who love Orientals.

Today a woman wearing a burka walked into the store I work, I was at the another corner , when I came close to her I asked miss do you mid telling me what parfum are you wearing?? She didnt only told me the name she took it out from her bag and gave it to me as a present, the gift ok kindness so far I love it totally not a common smell in the states, its pretty much metallic I can smell the sandalwood and the rose, lovely !!

Pls help if you can I have been collecting perfumes for years and am looking to find a similar perfume to Stella, but hoping for stronger with better longevity. I was hoping this would be it based on some of the reviews but can someone else speak as to whether this is even in the same category as Stella? I am really desperate as I am just about out of my SRA pre-reformulation bottle.
